You guys are way over blowing the download/pricing model, it hasn't occurred to any of you that even the current pricing of download models already available are only fractionally cheaper then retail? Do you even care that games are coming out with most of their basic function turned off, waiting for a series of payments to 'unlock' what is essentially part of the game already? Do you even give a shit that that pricing model guarantee's to be MORE expensive then 60 dollars a game?
Street fighter IV is a great example. I kinda blew my load after hearing you guys talk about it so I apologize for that.. but in reality these companies are just shifting to a new distribution method that costs them far less .. but are still trying to maintain the same pricing model as retail or even more with the inclusion of shopping cart DLC bullshit. Throw in DRM and we never really 'own' anything we buy, we are spending the same as retail now.. just to have the ability to 'rent' a game.
Consider also the pricing model on the wii, you have NES games worth 800 points ( about 8 dollars ). The actual distribution model is really costing them pennies per NES game they sell in that manner, so their gross profit is .. staggering in comparison to the cost. .. Yes I realize I have no say in a free market economy.. if one moron is willing to pay for something I can't do anything about it. But I can still call bullshit.
You're making the mistake most people make when they think about these things. It doesn't cost them "pennies" per NES game. They have to build the distribution infrastructure, pay engineers and IT people, pay for datacenter maintenance and storage, etc. Just being able to distribute NES games to the Wii cost Nintendo tens of millions of dollars to set up and maintain.
You have to keep in mind that many publishers aren't really allowed to lower their price of downloadable content compared to retail mainly due to not wanting to piss them off. Retail sales still dwarf downloadable sales and places like Wal-mart will raise hell if someone like Sony decided to undercut them online.
This price difference won't change until downloadable sales > retail sales.
They should make a Hulk game with wii vitallity. Get the whole family involved get your brothers and sisters to slap up side the head till you get pissed

Are you sure? I've seen from multiple sources that the insult sword fighting was written by orson scott card. This is from wikipedia (not the best source I know but I've seen this on a couple sites.) I think the game you're talking about that measured your heart rate is Fear Effect for the PS1. One of my favorite games, when your character became scared it was a lot easier to be killed and you would be more vulnerable.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age were epic RPGs on the GBA including puzzles and metroid-like exploration, the combat's fun and the story is interesting. You might not like the mass amount of dialogue though.

Yuzo, if you haven't played any of the Mario RPG, you should try Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on GBA. It looks a lot like Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and it is really good.
im kinda disappointed they dropped call of duty from the title, it does sound stupid with 2 numbers but ive been playing cod from day one. Call of duty 2 for me is the best cod n cod 4 is has VERY similiar in terms of gameplay.

I apologise if Ive offended you guys with my very partial preferences I just LOVE my games, and the others are not really worth it to me. I mean tbh I havent the chance to play the likes of Uncharted and that as I have not yet been able to find enough reason to buy a latest console (kind of a downwards spiral as one of the only ways to enjoy new series's is by having a console to try them on). You said something about the Jak and Daxter sequel but I when is it coming out?
New jak and daxter coming this year for psp and ps2 but its made by some other devloper and doesnt look too good. Naughty Dog is making one for ps3 only after uncharted 2 and it will run off the uncharted engine.
Guys Ill be onest with you, I didnt really watch much of E3, and that comment was made prior to the knowledge of PS3 games, which includes Gran Turismo, etc. But you guys should know I will ALWAYS go all out for platformers etc. I am not seeing the sequels I had hoped for (as previously mentioned) and until that happens Im afraid I cant ever say Im happy with what is released.
Also, I know you guys never played Golden Sun, but I really urge you to check it (and the sequel) out if you get the chance. It's my favorite rpg, and I grew up playing final fantasy. It's like they took everything that was good about the old-school final fantasies, made it better and more fun, and combined it with a Zelda-type puzzle system. Best announcement from e3 in my opinion.
Hey Tobin, my thoughts exactly on Other M. I can't say I'm not worried. But Nintendo mentioned in an interview that they're trying to reconcile the traditional metroid formula with Team Ninja's approach. So even if the game is half generic action game and half Metroid, at least it should be partly amazing.

Miyamoto showed some concept art of the new Zelda. Twilight Princess on the wii was actually a port of the one on the gamecube.

im kinda disappointed they dropped call of duty from the title, it does sound stupid with 2 numbers but ive been playing cod from day one. Call of duty 2 for me is the best cod n cod 4 is has VERY similiar in terms of gameplay.

Oh and by the way I do like platformers, mainly that refers to 3-D platformers, early Spyro, Banjo, etc. Metroid-vania doesnt cut it for me, I dont like them, Id rather play Metroid 3-D games if pushed. Therefore Shadow Complex, no thankyou

I apologise if Ive offended you guys with my very partial preferences I just LOVE my games, and the others are not really worth it to me. I mean tbh I havent the chance to play the likes of Uncharted and that as I have not yet been able to find enough reason to buy a latest console (kind of a downwards spiral as one of the only ways to enjoy new series's is by having a console to try them on). You said something about the Jak and Daxter sequel but I when is it coming out?

New jak and daxter coming this year for psp and ps2 but its made by some other devloper and doesnt look too good. Naughty Dog is making one for ps3 only after uncharted 2 and it will run off the uncharted engine.

Guys Ill be onest with you, I didnt really watch much of E3, and that comment was made prior to the knowledge of PS3 games, which includes Gran Turismo, etc. But you guys should know I will ALWAYS go all out for platformers etc. I am not seeing the sequels I had hoped for (as previously mentioned) and until that happens Im afraid I cant ever say Im happy with what is released.

Also, I know you guys never played Golden Sun, but I really urge you to check it (and the sequel) out if you get the chance. It's my favorite rpg, and I grew up playing final fantasy. It's like they took everything that was good about the old-school final fantasies, made it better and more fun, and combined it with a Zelda-type puzzle system. Best announcement from e3 in my opinion.

Hey Tobin, my thoughts exactly on Other M. I can't say I'm not worried. But Nintendo mentioned in an interview that they're trying to reconcile the traditional metroid formula with Team Ninja's approach. So even if the game is half generic action game and half Metroid, at least it should be partly amazing.

I don't know if someone else made this same comment, but when you were saying how you hope Treyarch doesn't make Modern Warfare 3, I've heard from a few people that Treyarch is going to make a Vietnam Call of Duty game. Yeah, no online for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, they confirmed it. Apparently the Wii can't handle all of the enemy synchronisation over wifi. I say failure to Ninty on that one.
You guys fail to btw, Golden Sun DS was by far THE BEST GAME of Ninty's conference (along with Metroid and Galaxy) and you guys didn't even mention it. Be very ashamed I say.
