@lgvereor Britian's policy of appeasement probably had something to do with the fact that their army wasn't very large at the time of the Sudetenland crisis and that if they were going to go to war to defend Czechoslovakia they'd have no way off actually getting troops there. This was also because Germany's claims on these lands were fairly reasonable as they were trying to restore the old empire and most of those in the Sudetenland were Germans.

Again, something that most of the other powers disapproved of but wren't a casus belli. Also, this was nothing compared to the Soviet Union at the time, so the Nazis didn't seem that bad to them. However, the European powers were taking steps to try and contain Germany. The prime example is the British Treaty with Poland that lead to WWII.

@lgvereor Britian's policy of appeasement probably had something to do with the fact that their army wasn't very large at the time of the Sudetenland crisis and that if they were going to go to war to defend Czechoslovakia they'd have no way off actually getting troops there. This was also because Germany's claims on these lands were fairly reasonable as they were trying to restore the old empire and most of those in the Sudetenland were Germans.

@lgvereor There was also a good deal of sympathy to Germany at the time as many British felt bad for the terms of the 1918 armistice. Anti-semitism was alos very commonplace at the time so most didn't really count it as a strike against the Nazis at the time. Also, at the time the Nazis were mainly engaged in Pogroms rather then out and out extermination. While these were frowned upon they weren't really "let's bomb them," worthy.

@lgvereor While they did have concentration camps since 1933, these were mainly for political prisoners like communists and social democrats. Again, something that most of the other powers disapproved of but wren't a casus belli. Also, this was nothing compared to the Soviet Union at the time, so the Nazis didn't seem that bad to them. However, the European powers were taking steps to try and contain Germany. The prime example is the British Treaty with Poland that lead to WWII.
