  • you look like lord Voldemort

  • well i am just nervous i dont click youtube links. due to keyloggers and such but i need something to check if i have a keylogger because my mac just randomely started downloading something and i moved it to trash and then emtied my trash. would that of gotten rid of it. im not even sure if it was a keylogger but i hate the feeling of not knowing. i am fairly new to the mac, so i was wondering if their is a way to restore your mac to a few days ago! or something like that? please help!

  • The fact of the matter is MACs BY DEFAULT ARE ONLY SLIGHTLY LESS LIKELY TO GET INFECTED THAN A PC RUNNING WINDOWS WITHOUT AN ANTIVIRUS. The only difference is that most virus creators don't waste time developing viruses for Macintosh due to the fact that Macs only make up about 10% of computers. There are still plenty of viruses capable of infecting Macs. I've been working in this industry for 11 years, anyone tries to tell you Macs can't get viruses is either misinformed or stupid.

  • @051elite You need to work in "this industry" a tad longer because you just posted an outright untrue statement. There are NO viruses for OSX, NONE, ZERO!!

  • @bibbler227 your an idiot

  • @AFIGHTCHANNEL How exactly am "I" am idiot. There are NO Viruses for Mac OS X PERIOD! To me, a person who would sit here and type outright lies (or be so ignorant) is an idiot....

    A

  • @bibbler227 You have no idea what your talking about.

  • @STOPTHEEU Really? Tell me how I'm wrong there BIG BOY!!! There are ZERO viruses for OS X. Nope. Yeah, you can make statements like "you have no idea what you are talking about", and that's about it.;.. NAME ONE VIRUS for OS X there Big Boy!!

  • @bibbler227 What is the definition of a virus? Its a program that causes malfunction. Whether it was built to cause that malfunction intentionally or not is beside the point.

So this means that any software can become a virus if it causes a malfunction.

This means if you say there are no viruses for a certain OS what your actually saying is "there is no possible software malfunction" This is literally impossible.

As for a purposely made virus for OSX take a look at Leap-A worm.

  • @STOPTHEEU "What is the definition of a virus? "

If you don't know then why are you even in this conversation. Leap-A is not a virus. It's a trojan. It can't self replicate and requires Root access to even install.

"So this means that any software can become a virus if it causes a malfunction."

No it doesn't You have no idea what you're talking about. Any software that causes a malfunction can be a form of malware, but by definition, it's not a virus..

Learn something and then try again.

  • @bibbler227 All of those are just types of viruses. Its no wonder you use Apple!

You do realize that Linux, Unix and BSD can all get viruses? And you think that OSX which is Unix based is somehow immune to any possible infection?

Dear god.... You think you know more than I do but I doubt you even know what a bate file is!

  • @STOPTHEEU Let me tell you something you condescending little punk, I forgot more about Operating systems this morning than you will EVER know. Don't feed me your childish and arrogant "You do realize" nonsense.

A trojan is NOT a "type of virus". Why don't you learn how to spell what a "Bait file" is before making an attempt to throw around terms that you don't understand..

I'm finished with ya Little Boy. Go play games on your BIG Boy PC..

  • @bibbler227 They say people get abusive when they have no argument. You've proved it to be true.

If your incapable of admitting your weaknesses then I suggest you stop talking tosh just stick to your Macintosh.

  • lies... viruses are made by anti virus company for profits so you get worried and buy thier products

  • This sint a virus in itself is it? i downloaded it, and it doesnt work

  • well what is the point of this? Without the programming macs don't even get viruses. The only thing that could happen is that it could crash

  • Also.... Mac is totally different to windows. primarily coz all programs are mounted as an image. They're kept as one file. Windows spits theirs up into little files in which can be specificly and individually targetted by viruses. So unless viruses come through as a mac system update, I don't think there will be a worry :P

  • Like you said some people would say. T"here is no viruses for mac!" So how can virus scanner be programmed to find a virus if it doesn't know what its looking for. Its like sky diving without a parachute :S

  • Why the fuck do n00bs even make viruses?

  • yes there are viruses for macs just dont go on stupid websites! but the chances are low of getting viruses

  • I'll stay away from Macs. I would use Ubuntu if I knew how to Dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu. WINDOWS AND LINUX FTW!!!

  • @AcoGuitar000 create a different partition on your hard drive. then install ubuntu on the blank partition. on startup it'll ask what OS you want to boot into.

but be careful not to fuck shit up.

  • @nicksa7x

    Thanks dude!

    -ACG

  • love the intro beat.

  • CJ: The Mac world needs more people like you. The type of person who doesn't just delude themselves into thinking that there is NO WAY that OS X could get infected with viruses or malware. While I can tell you are still pretty new to virus scanning (int this video at least), you at least took a step in the right direction. This should help other Mac users understand that they are NOT invulnerable to bad software.

  • @cjamesdrum

    How is it free?

    Who make it?

  • reddragon9918 your an idiot. Did you even watch the video? Where did you pull that stats that Mac only has 10 known viruses? He just showed us that they have over 500,000 and growing known viruses. You must the type of kid who believes the "virus free" ads and goes ape shit downloading music, movies, and porn from limewire. Then scream and bitch when you do get a virus or malware.

  • @Mcree114

There aren't 500,000 viruses for Mac. There are only 72,000 affecting the Windows platform. The real range of Mac viruses is about 15,000+, and that includes trojans, backdoor hacks, rootkits, keystroke loggers, etc. Malware is also a big issue on Mac, and most don't even realize it. Just because you're not getting flooded with popups all the time doesn't mean that your credit card number isn't being stolen, or someone isn't taking pictures through your Macbook camera.

  • Wait wait, Apple lied to everyone on television in 2006? With there "Mac's don't get viruses" "Get a mac ad"????

  • wait, does it take up space when u downlode the "checking for viruses thing"

  • Great advise. I also listen to Chris P.

  • does it work with snow leopard

  • @gaspajr I don't know, I haven't tried it.

  • @cjamesdrum and can mac get torjan??

  • I can confirm that it works with Snow Leopard.

Btw, once you install ClamXav, you might want to enable ClamXav Sentry and set it to monitor your HD (this way, you're mac is always protected... ClamXav will check any newly added file for infections).

  • yes i have it.

  • ZOMG I LOVE YOU!!! thanks alot :)

  • There is about 10 viruses for mac and u are highly unlikely to get 1

  • man, 2.48 all they are windows virus... i found 1000 on my ibook (.exe all)

  • if i get some viruses will it get rid of them and make my computer faster?

  • I honestly don't know because luckily I've never had a virus on my computer. I just use it to scan for viruses on apps that I download.

  • THanks (:

  • hey can i ask if intego scans for PC viruses? cause they detected some .gen file and i am not sure if its a mac virus and if it affects me. managed to repair it

  • @cjamesdrum hey so can mac or imac really get virus or is it just normal adds you mean

  • yea it does

  • my mac has a virus lol but this didnt do anything the virus doesn't bug me at all except once in awhile theres apps quiting out of random and lots of laggy connections then on my other mac its perfect

  • Try MacScan, it might fix that for you.

  • it actually scans for both windows and mac virusesm=, so when it updates it also updates for windows viruses, so out of those 513.8430 or whatever only 90 or so or those are mac vtrojans, still cool tho

  • Im not sure if you if you said it, but what if you do have a virus, how can i get rid of it?

  • it should delete it already but there is another virus software
