  • As a resident of the UK I must disagree with Laz on the issue of the BBC. The fact that the government forces people to subscribe to a channel they may or may not want (in my case, definately do not want) and then expects them to pay for it with huge fines and imprisonment as a penalty for not paying, in my eyes, is no better than a mafia protection racket. The TV tax in here in Britain is the reason I refuse to own a television.

  • What was that guy's point? Someone spent $60 on Doom 3 and enjoyed it (I dunno who). He didn't. No one's opinion takes priority when it comes to taste. What the fuck? As if he's entitled to enjoy everything he buys? Holy shit. "Dude... I ate those fisheggs from that puddle, they made me sick, ahrrm gonna go steal some caviar!!!".

It'd be like me say seeing Lady Gaga on here, getting pissed off, buying her album then moaning that I didn't enjoy it. It's so idiotic.

  • The only time I've not bought it is when I genuinely can't afford it and the genuine alternative option is that I still wouldn't have bought the product because it may be a risk of the little money I had.

There are so many things I wouldn't have bothered with, Fallout 3, I got like 70% through a copy of that and loved it so much I got the PS3 and PC versions. There are like 20 bands who were the same. I wouldn't have heard of them. Not everyone does that but most do. In my experience anyway.

  • For some reason this reminds me of my Spectrum days, copying "Dizzy" from my best friend. Good old tape drives. Even though I already had a NES and Gameboy before that. The Spectrum felt freeing. Potential for everyone to be a developer if they wanted.

When it comes to online sharing I feel that MOST people's attitude now is if they get something they like for free they'll pay for an official copy too. People who won't, who I know, were pirating even in the 90's with ADSL lines.

  • Cheers for these Nick. I called in too, but was shat on :P

Anyways, hearing Lazlow talk on these topics is great

  • Thanks for the upload Nick from Canada. This was a very informative presentation. Lazlow rocks!
