  • haha. james bond got his ass killed by a 2x4

  • I had a South African teacher in Third Grade. He made me the fearful, neurotic, miserable man I am today.

  • Another clear example of men getting better looking with age. Damn. So unfair. I wouldnt' have though much of him then in the looks department. I love him now, however. Plus he's so mature. Sigh. I wanna see this. I don't see many films about South Africa...would like to learn more.

  • hahah Stephen Dorff!!!!

  • I just watched this movie in class and said isnt that Daniel Craig? I

  • Not really a fair fight, he was drunk!

  • I remember watching this film for school back in 1999, still one of my faves. It's kind of funny, he goes from playing a South African Nazi supporter in this film, to playing a South African Jew in the Mossad in Munich

  • @Beefy81 I watched this film in class back in 99 as well!

  • jeez i loved this movie...didnt even know he was in it!!!

  • There are a midstake.......One scene is missing with Daniel Craig! When the Afrikaners came to burn the boxing's building, we see Botha (Daniel Craig) and you forgot this scene!! But, you made a good job!

  • He made a difficult part... It's not easy to sympathize with him!!! :)

  • I had no idea that was him until I IMDb stalked him, he's amazing

  • i like the book better :)

  • @daliinyare

I got the book recently, but the book is sooooo creepy that I can't dare read it. Maybe it's after I watched the film.

As you know, in the book, PK's time being with his mother and nanny was too short(shorter than in the film), but the boarding school years, on the contrary, were sooooo long. WAY TOO LONGER!

Besides, it made me remind of the last scene of young Botha(played by Robbie Bulloch in the film) everytime PK gets bullied in the book.

  • I am hopefully gonna get this movie on DVD this Xmas Yay =)

  • It was awesome accent!

  • wow i cant believe i have never seen this!

  • @DarthKraytuos The National Inquirer is shitty tabloid.

  • you idiots seem to forgeting my good friend stephen Dorff who is excellent in this

  • craig is very good but there's a theatrical thing about him that doesn't fit into movies.. might be his interpretation of this role - or me only having seen him as james bond and now being shocked by him actual acting XDD

  • @ZPencILZ watch him in defiance.

  • Wait... so is Craig playing the Judge?

  • Wow, I have studied that film in high school and I have no idea that one of the actors in that film would be the future James bond!

  • fucking hell I didn't realise Craig was such a good actor!! :D

  • The point is he wanted to be a NAZI! look at his arm.

  • Great Movie

  • @bunkofurko Looking at Afghanistan americans went nowwhere? And soviets went?

  • Piss Cup!

  • Fuck Nazism, it kept US and England from uniting with Germany against the real enemy, Communism.

  • If I ran into Sgt. Botha many years later, I would have to use every inch of my will power to keep from taking his friggin' head off if he tried to do that to me when I was in Grade school, on or soon after Dec.11,1941 - Germany declares war on US.

  • I'm sorry but Daniel Craig's hair is soo bad in this movie, it looks so much better now

Just finished watching it in R&P

He is much better in the James Bond films... and what's his accent all about? I thought he was english

  • He's playing a South African.

  • They should have poisoned his vodka martini.

All joking aside, I'll be checking this movie out when I get the chance. Looks good.

  • Comment removed

  • None of this even happened in the book!

  • True, but there are a lot of things not happening in the book. The big line of the story is the same, but botha is just different. But still, just love the book and love the movie.

  • fucking nazis

  • @Brianexe43 What Nazis? Is South Africans!

  • Just finished watching this movie today! Almost made me cry XD

  • I hated this character when I saw The Power of One in 7th grade history class. 5 years later I saw Casino Royale, and I loved his portrayal of Bond. I didn't find out they were the same guy till today! Funny how many actors we don't recognize when we're younger.

  • that's the thing ! Its crazy when actors are getting famous only in 40's ... that's fair though

  • Just finished watching this is english. Goodd movieeee

  • I dont remember any of this happening in the book....

  • yeeeaa boss

  • Weird he plays a Nazi and a Jew?????

  • @TeamPCA For PEace Sake man get a history lesson this a South African tthat he is plaing not a Nazi

  • i watched this movie when it came out....seems like a while... way before james bond came out....

  • 14 years before Bond. He still has that look!

  • i am watching "power of one" in my world history class at school :)

  • This is an excellent movie. I was recently watching it and just realized that was Daniel Craig. I knew he looked familiar. He is an exceptional actor you should see him in Layer Cake.

  • OMG i remember watching this movie a long time ago, Botha scared the crap out of me, i had no idea it was him til i wiki'd the movies he's been in.

Gotta say, i love this guy more and more with each movie i watch <33

  • I remember I studied this film back in high school and i have no idea that Daniel Craig was in the film. I think he is 24 in this film.

  • Dan Craig is the best actor I have ever come across as I'm a HUGE fan of him, go go go Dan baby ^_^

  • lol, funny accent =))

  • The Power of One is such a wonderful movie about awful things that have happened in the world and is still happening. Daniel is really good in this movie but Stephen Dorff is amazing. If Gwyneth Paltrow can get an Oscar for that horrible film Shakespeare in Love anyone can. But many actors truly deserve the Oscars instead of so many others. But that's life. You can't always get what you want or what you deserve. But then again you can, if you have enough time or luck:) (or s-one that favours you

  • Well, he looks like a nazi, because he PLAYS a nazi, pal;)

  • @McBrainsen Again South African! Nazis never persecuted Black Africans IN south africa!

  • @McBrainsen he plays a boer with pro nazi belief pal

  • @McBrainsen Daniel Craig plays the part of a far-right Afrikaner Nationalist with Nazi leanings, that sounds more accurate/

  • fuckin nob head!

  • he was good then, needs better roles now

  • i remember seeing this when i was very young and being terrified by daniel craig's character and thinking he was evil, so much so that i couldnt seperate the actor from the character. which is funny cos i now i fancy the pants off daniel craig!

  • I saw this movie in the 1990s but never connected that it was Daniel. Very good performance—his character was a real bastard in this one.

  • i think they changed the release date for quantum of solace i think its the 14th now i dont know why

  • Daniel frightens me in this movie, he´s acting very well ...

  • This movie is really good

  • I love it when Dan was nasty in this movie PHWOOOOOAAAAARRRRR - DAN is a hottie !!!

  • Daniel Craig kick's ass in almost every movie he's in. Great Afrikaner accent in this movie!

He play's such a bastard in this movie. Great all around actor. Can't wait for Quantum of Solace! Nov.7th baby!

  • Is this a good movie?

  • What, besides the fact that Daniel Craig is in it? Yes, it's a pretty good film, with a very good performance from Morgan Freeman, as well as a compelling subject.

  • @crazystraw22 in what time period is the movie about?

  • @NetoAllStars The novel traces the adventures of Peekay, an English-speaking South African boy, from age five to age seventeen, from the year 1939 to 1951.

  • great film, anyone notice gorgeous george from the movie snatch

  • T he South African accent, especially the Afrikaans one, must be so hard to nail.

  • Daniel was really good in the movie!
