While Lucifer is merely a philosophical invention used to justify the glorification of
a lesser god—a real metaphysical entity (Satan)—he cannot be the equal and opposite of God, for the opposite of being is non-being, and if God were to have an equal he would not be God. God is life, creation, being, consciousness; the opposite is death, destruction, non-existence, nonbeing, unconsciousness
This brings to mind a book by Paul R Miller called "The Nazarene Way". A quote from it about evil:
"...there was no evil in the world before God determined that it was good;
only the mind of man could have possibly found something inherently dissatisfactory with nature."
Duality:
"Only light and energy can actually be understood as having formal negations (real opposites, as opposed to dissimilar comparisons) because both of these properly define being, the opposite of which is non-being."
