this is not a unicorn for 1 reason an its not because they dont exist!... 1....this is not a horn...its an antler, antlers will cast (drop off seasonally) whereas horns will not. rhinos have horns, bulls have horns. Deer have antlers, which will grow back bigger every year. although this is pretty cool, its actually called a swtich i think, where just 1 antler grows with no palms or points.

I don't remember that goat but I grew up around goats and the surgical procedure to make a unicorn is not that hard, You just need a vet to go in an remove the outside halves of the horn bud and then have the inside halves fused together to make one horn in the center of the head. I have never been that cruel to my animals but have heard of breeders doing that.

On deer they don't generally call them horns they call them antlers. Horns are permanet, antlers are regrown. However some rhinos have one horn in center of head so a deer or a rhino could be basis of unicorn myth.

I have a book about the manufacturing and judging of trophies. Game keepers usually shoot these kind of deer bucks. They can be lethal for other bucks during the rut, because these hornes give them a huge advantage in fights.

It sounds very cruel, but it has a purpose. You have to understand, that normal antlers aren't really for defense against predators and aren't "designed" to kill. They're for fighting during the rut. But abnormal antlers like these can be deadly to rival bucks. And if these abnormal bucks reproduce, then there will be more of these freaks out there.

The idea of the horse unicorn is a fairly modern concoction. The ancients new it as a deer or rhino. As in the Bible. Where it is describe as(untamable and very strong). Single horned Rhino's used to be common in the Middle East.
