I was hoping you found more of this LOST film. Yeah, I know the Third Hoorah promo. I have even emailed Ian from the Tull website about this professionally shot APP footage a few years back and he never replied. I know Tull's U.S./Canada publicist personally, but she doesn't bother Ian about these things.
Anyway, thanks for posting these clips with proper audio. How can you be sure you have the correct audio for each?
I also wish Ian would finally release the 75 minutes filmed from a 1975 Paris show. Paul, (if you happen to see this) have you made any headway with Ian on this??
Does ANYONE happen to know how to reach him?? IMDB has a "celebrity " database of sorts. One of US should give contacting Ian a whirl. By " Blacksatindancer a.k.a tsarevna! ( decided to "rechristen myself, more in line with what/whom I watch almost EXCLUSIVELY on YT! :) )
Just...wow. There MUST be more of this footage sitting around somewhere! Who's holding out - Chris Wright? Terry Ellis? Ian himself?? I'd kill to see this entire film! Holy Grail indeed.
Very misleading. This has been circulating for years. It is 16mm film with no sound shot in very short segments. There is NO complete pro shot Passion Play or Thick As A Brick concert........
I have had this for at least 15 years. This is professionaly shot 16mm footage from 1973 which I remastered.
Where do you get your information that it has no sound and was shot in small segments?
The truth is that You do not know for sure what is out there and could surface someday we know what we've been told.. I am off the NO pro 72-73 bandwagon ..let us dream a little. :)
The footage on this film spans from the Passion Play material through Locomotive breath with Multiple professional angles. Most all TV cameras in the UK were 16mm back then. So what leads anyone to believe most all of this show was not filmed? Just because it was split up and edited out of sequence for a promo? Until the orignal film is discovered "in segments" I will assume a majority of this concert film exists!
hey tulltapes. how are you? remember me? i wrote you a few times back a bit. i love this footage! it's a nice montage of a great show that i absolutely loved! even better than the thick as a brick tour. only kidding! i love all of tull's shows,no matter what was the venue. i worked in the city and had run into ian on b'way a few times, back in the late 70s. what a blast! nice guy too;he would actually chat with you without giving you the brush off. thanks, ian!
Showtaper. I agree with TullTapes. A lot of this concert must have been filmed. Notice all the different camera angles. It obviously was a multi-camera shoot. Chrysalis would never go through the trouble of filming this show for just small segments. Someone later spliced up the footage for the THIRD HOORAH promo in 1974. TullTapes is just putting it together with sound. No one said this was recently discovered footage.
FINALLY... for the FIRST time in history someone has synched up that old THIRD HOORAH promo from 1974. And TullTapes actually REARRANGED the clips in the promo to fit the order of the song set-list!
And TullTapes is right. A good portion of this show must have been filmed... especially because it was shot during the Passion Play tour in 1973 (long before the THIRD HOORAH was recorded). So the original intent of filming this was obviously NOT for a THIRD HOORAH promo. Where's the REST Ian???
Ian didn't believe this even existed but said if it did he doesn't have it. Nice to see even this much though in such good quality. My guess is the same. Most likely out there the grail does exist!
Wow indeed TullTapes. What an incredible find and great job of restoring. Do you know where this was filmed? And I agree, it seem unlikely they would have gone to the trouble and not filmed it all. Ahhh, I want it, I want it all!
This is good work. Very enjoyable to watch.

Too Bad alot of these clips are way too quick. I have some outakes I will use for other things. Anyone want an animated gif?
Ian or Terry Ellis possibly are the ones who may know where the film is.

Not sure where it was filmed but I am looking into finding out. This would be the holy grail for tull fans if it were to surface.
