This video is very informative. I agree that doctors do save lives but healthcare is for the most part all about money. Here in China I went to the pharmacy to buy some lozenges when I merely had a mild cough and the doctor there told me that I would need to go on drip, after refusing that he tried to persuade me to have an injection all for a COUGH. I refused again and just stuck with the lozenges and I was better in a few days. Sometimes the pharmaceutical industry does more harm than good.

Excellent video...this is the truth. We are wasting our tax dollars on experiments that don't mean anything will not help humans just kill animals and pay the scientists. After all they need a job. Good video 5 stars. Should be on TV and schools
I saw a documentary the other day where a researcher said she was not in favor of animal testing because of the drugs tested on animals, 92% never reach human trials. Of the 8% that do, less than half (maybe less, I've forgotten) are put on the market, and half of what is put on the market is later recalled because its not safe.
I'll put that into some simple mathematical equations for you:
100 - 92 = 8
50% of 8 = 4
50% of 4 = 2
So, per 100 drugs tested on animals, only 2 end up for sale.

In the US people don't become doctors because they want to help people, they become doctors because they want to be rich. I took a friend to a doctor once, she was having some kind of back spasm (but at the time was not sure what was happening). She was in so much pain that she was doubled over - a 20 years old, mind you. We went to a Dr & were told that without $200 they would not see her.
We didn't have that much with us. So we ended up going to the emergency room @ the hospital. There, we waited about 2 hours - remember that my friend is in so much pain that she can barely sit still, but doesn't know why. When she finally saw a Dr, he spent 5 minutes w/ her, said "Its just a muscle spasm, why'd you come to the emergency room?" & wrote her a prescription for some muscle relaxers. Oh, & the bill for that was like $700.
It is a huge problem in the US & a big issue in our upcoming election. We're hoping that whoever is elected (OBAMA 08!) will change it to be more like Europe.
In the US, if you have a good job (which for students or poor people doesn't work) they will typically provide assistance with paying for insurance. But insurance comes from private companies who make billions of $ by denying claims, taking people's $ & then kicking them off the plan basically because they need too much medical care, etc.
I like our system and I am willing to pay for it. But you should know that such a system is expansive, the people in well paid jobs pay up to 50% here in Germany. I don't think that such an System can be founded in another way and such an tax rising is against to American spirit (of the most people) and won't help winning an election I guess
Yep..people forget that deaths from prescribed drugs is the 4th biggest killer in the USA!I don't trust my doctor...all this scientific bullshit. I have a friend almost without arms in Brum..thanks to thalidamide!!

Ok then it is an US Problem here in Germany (Europe) a Doctor earns lot less money.
The people that want to make money run for law or engineer studies.
Here everybody needs to have a health insurance and you don't have to pay to see a doc.
