To me, Robin is an apprenticeship. They work with Batman, gaining knowledge, and skill, until they are mature enough to step into their own. Dick became Nightwing, Jason became red hood, and Tim became red robin. Can't wait to see what Damian will turn into.
Thank you for taking the time to make this tribute to Damian Wayne/Robin, very nicely done. As a comic/cartoon fanatic for many decades, Batman has always been my absolute favorite character in the Superhero community. Although no one will ever be a better robin than Richard Grayson, I love the natural progression of the series. Damian with his darkness and troubled past makes a fantastic counter-balance for Dick's lightheartedness (just as in opposite, Dick did for Bruce). GREAT TRIBUTE!!!!

Damian Wayne was raised and trained by the League of assassins, so of couse he's going to be pretty good, but he's still far from the best. Even in his first fight with tim it was even until Tim got sucker punched. Cut Damian a break, Batwoman on the other hand has far more easy acceptance by the Bat Family than Damian does despite wearing her version of the Cowl for a very short while as well as having an inferior origin for doing so.
In Batman #666 & #700, they did a flash-forward to a future where Bruce is dead. Tim & Dick are MIA. Damian is the new Batman and he's a violent, blood-thirsty maniac.
In #700, Oracle vows to work towards taking him down & locking him up. He also leaves a criminal who he catches to die by being eaten alive by rats. Cold-hearted to say the least!
Damian may be Bruce's son, but (like Jayson) he's damaged goods. Not all there...
Don't forget..."Damian" is the name of the Anti-Christ in The Omen.
@amuizzski Well, the flash-forward really doesn't specify whether or not Damian became that Batman regardless of Dick. We can only hope that Damian would change, but you never know. There's a long time between now and that future where any number of things might still cause him to go that path.
Definitely see character development in Damian over the years, Dick did a great job reforming him, something Bruce acknowledges in the Road Home one-shots (which i recommend).
