It was pretty wild when the band made mistakes because alot of the time after the mistake the music got looser than it already was. Boy i miss these cats when i see stuff like this.I lost my sunglasses walking into this show as you can see the sun was blinding.
I too was at this show, about 13 or 14 rows back. It did seem a long ways away, but these were different times for the boys. Any show at Red Rocks is a gem.
Was at this show - one of the funniest moments I can recall at a Dead show. Also check out how far back the band is from the front row of the audience. They seemed to not want to be very close to their fans. Even if you were in the front row you were still at least 15 rows back.
This is some great stuff mijknahs.Do you by chance have the 2nd set of 8/30/78? It went estimated>the other one>eyes>drums>if i had the world to give>aiko aiko>around and round ? This is one of the better shows of "78 and after the drums was just waaaaayyy of the hook. I had to put rocks in my sneakers so i would not float away . High in the rockies and also being high in the rockies it was as kool as it gets.PEACE
coyote I caught many shows in 85 also and the majority of those shows were great. Chula Vista might have been one of the best shows I have ever seen. Jerry was not in the best health obviously, but his guitar work was pretty damn good. This is a nice clip. I have had fun watching all these clips from 85. Thanks so much...
This is the kinda stuff that really, really makes me miss these cats.Alot of people trash 1985 and i have no clue as to why.If there is anybody out there that can name me 7 lame shows please do so.sittin here watching this here are 3 shows of killer music high in the rockies..Whoever put this up please put more of the same
@notmefuckingname It was a 2PM show. Ticket price was $16.50. According to the ticket stub I have the set list was: Scarlet/Fire, Estimated, Eyes, Drums/Space, Gimmie some lovin', Wharf Rat, Sugar Mag, Sunshine Daydream. E. Brokedown
I didnt cross check that and I dont know about set 1

I've played at Red Rocks like 2 dozen times.
When I went to CU Boulder I use to grab my acoustic and drive to Morrison hike up to the stage, smoke a doob and just jam

They did the exact same error on this song in 87, starting off in the wrong key and restart it again. Too funny.
