ID software deffo need to get back to this Quake era and forget about RAGE style gameplay. Quake one and three defined 1 vs 1 FPS, and there's been nothing since.
I remember before this game came out there was some source code leak where all you could do was walk around one map and spawn a bad guy who couldnt even see you and it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen! Now games almost look like real life but I still don't get the same feeling that this game brought me when I was like 14 years old.
I take it, this was a replayed dem file using a quakemod, like Darkplaces. If so, where can you find the actual dem file for this match? I'd like to watch it through a client.
Think how intense you would be playing if you knew you'd win a Ferrari for winning the game...I can only imagine. Think about it - winning an exotic car for playing a video game. Win win...
@salam14111 It's kinda logical that they don't jump much. It's harder to predict where somebody would go when they can suddenly change directions. Jumping sets you in an approximate line that you can't change until you land.
This is not quakeworld, but "netquake". Quakeworld didnt come around until 2003 which introduced movement prediction to quake. Thats why this match is so slow compared to what we know from qw.
@kringkingen Gameplay wise in this video maybe. But the movement speed of the player is much faster than compared to FPS games of today. In which the movement speed of today's FPS WITH sprint is like walk mode in Quake 1.

Quakeworld was out in 1996!
What you see in this video is using a lot of graphics modes, and they're playing back a reply. So the above video isn't netquake or quakeworld.
