if anyone is suffering from depression this BOB JAMES composition like much of his other material will cure you psychologists should use more imagination in their therapy sessions i.e. playing music like smooth jazz !!
I love this song I remember when my mother for every Christmas would buy us a bunch of candy rent the movie and plop us in front of the T.V. and we would watch this great movie and eat our candy R.I.P. Mom....
@ter521fad yeah sure does sound like him, and he's on several of these together with Andy Newmark, Steve Jordan, Chris Parker and countless other NYC drummers of the time
i never saw willy wonka until 1997, but i heard bob james version when it came out. when i heard the movie original, i said, "where have i heard that before?" it took me days to remember the bob james "philly style" version.
Nothing I have ever heard really matches this. The melody, the style, the ambiance. All of it. If this isn't the best "mood" music around, I don't know what is.
My lifetime friend Phillip told me I had to hear a song. He gave me his BJ-4 album. WOW! This is the song. I now have the BJ collection on vinyl. Sadly Phil died in a car accident shortly after turning me on to BJ. I now think of Phil when I hear a BJ song like the theme from the T.V. show Taxi. - Jim
wow. this is a wonderful rendition of a classic.....smooth jazz indeed! thanks boswell69 for sharing this.
