  • Mi e' piacuto tantissimo questo film..anche perche.. amo molto Madonna!!

  • AB sounds great .. sounds great at 1.07..

  • 1.13 - 1.14... what happens to his voice ?

  • Antonio Banderas...ummmmmmm...gostosooooooooooooooo

  • MA LI FAI TU ? IO PENSAVO CHE ERANO I TUOI PREFERITI ! MA DA DOVE LI SCARICHI QUESTI BELLISSIMI FILM ? SEI BRAVISSIMO CIAO DESY

  • this was one of the few videos that i have in my heart... even when i'm offline :)

  • yeaa madonna used to look kind of good. today i can't imagine she once did

  • @Pfefferminzkind

She still does....sort of, it's just all the working out that's ruined her in a way. Not to say it's a bad thing (exercise and being healthy I mean) , I doubt I'll be able to do that when I'm her age.

  • Antônio Banderas....belezuraaaaaaaaa....sensual

  • a shame she did it all at 26..wow evita. you rock!..i mean so young..to be a president's wife!

  • @maris2ish sadly she would be dead 6 years later. Too much sleeping around.

  • @donaldagoncalves

I heard that it wasn't any of the previous men she slept with who gave her the virus which triggered Cervical cancer. Juan's previous wife died of Uterine cancer so that suggests it was him and none of the others. I could be wrong but it seems likely and logical that it would've been due to that.

  • @PeaceFromStacey Cancer is a new form of STD now? I think you need to re-take biology. And maybe also read a book on Argentinean history (not just out of the Wikipedia or the TV guide).

  • @marcelageiger As I understand it, the HPV or the virus that causes genital warts has been shown to cause cervical cancer in some cases. I expect that was what the poster was referring to.

  • @marcelageiger

I was referring to the HPV Virus which causes some forms of Cervical Cancers, so no I do not need to re take biology.

My history that I used the appears to be correct as I have read Eva's book My Message and the historical forward refers to that also I saw a documentary which said the same thing.

  • @PeaceFromStacey

Urgh, accidental "the". Please ignore that.

  • @PeaceFromStacey so, what happened with Isabel Perón? Did Juan Perón and her never sleep together or was she just lucky? You read "Eva's book". Which one? Written by whom? Just curious.

  • how come people don't notice Che? Hes the sexiest man in the room

  • might be EVITA light. but by god Madonna is sublime, really, no one could play this part on film like she can, i love the stage show and Had my doubts about her casting, but I ATE MY WORDS WHEN I SAW IT XXX BRAVO XXX lost count the amout of times i saw it in the cinema and well the dvd is always on xxxx

  • her dress is stunning!! and banderas is hooooot!!! *faints at sight of him* <3

  • Madonna looks quite beautiful and elegant in this clip. Banderas is a great - he should really do more musicals - did he ever do the stage show?

I love this part because it reminds me of Madonna's rise to popularity also. How her image and status changed - how she filled a gap and was lucky - no one else can fill it like she can!

  • I love this song and I love Maddonna singing it!! She is great for this.

  • this is a great song, from a great movie, but it must be said, when Madonna kicks in and takes over the singing the whole thing ratches up a notch!! I can't think of a better person to play Eva.

  • i so love this song x well done madana i cant really stand her but i love her in this film its my fav film x i can watch it all day x

  • her dress <3

  • Love this musical! Perfect casting!

  • What a beautiful movie. A beautiful story.

  • Madonna is 'crossed between a fantasy in the bedroom and a saint' which I guess was why she is perfect as Evita!

  • Love this movie. Not a big Madonna fan but she is great in this. Love Antonio Banderas

  • I love this song and this film.

  • I LOVE antonio Banderas!

look at "pretend im Antonio banderas"

  • Is this really Antonio Banderas voice? Lovely

  • @CATHERINEDAVIES123 Yes, it is.

  • @Lorelai271 Such a lovely voice.Thanks for the info.

  • Do you know that The leading actress would had been LIZA MINNELLI in this movie. But there were an other producer and Madonna got the role. What a shame :S Liza is a briliant actress and has a unique voice.

  • @arzeN3 I didn't know that, I knew of Barbarah Streisand(whom in the 80ies Madonna herself called her and said_Back up!!) also Michelle Pfeitfer, and I think Merlyl Streep. But Alan Parker said Madonna's voice was at her prime and she's be the one for the soundtrack, I'm from Argentina, Madonna as Evita is too sensual, she's very suggestive. Evita did not have that energy

  • @hgmcalifas Yes, I agree with you. But let's see 2 of Liza's most memorable roles: Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Francine Evans in New York, New York. There are 2 different characters, but each of theese are sensual, but Sally doesn't show her emotions like Francine...But it's true liza has a huge energy... this energy come from her personality and It is in the films and shows...

  • @arzeN3 But she looks NOTHING like Evita. Rattter or not you like Madonna, you can say one thing Madonna COULD pass for Evita s daughter or granddaughter.....IF she had had childern. Meant pass. Any way Madonna isnt my fave performer but in his I kinda like her

  • He is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! Amazing movie...Love it greatly

  • @dunderklumpen1979 have to agree with you as a hetro male he is a very good looking fella ask my wife lol

  • @stevejones002hotmail Well your wife has a good eye!! I think being gay or not he is too hot!!!! He was Tom Hanks boyfriend in the movie Philadelphia.Good movie as well!!!

  • Whenever I see this I get the feeling that Che is in love with Eva.

  • IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO B THAT DAMN GOOD LOOKING!!!!! R U SURE I CAN'T TAKE CHE HOME??????

  • i adore his spanish accent, soooo sexy!!!!!

  • Loved him in this movie!

  • how does no one notice banderas singing so loudly

  • OH YEAH ONE OF MY FAV POPL!

  • what's with the skip at 1:11?

  • Antonio Banderas and Madonna,

    They delivered!

  • @MVS12345678 I have to disagree. As much as I hate Madonna, I admit she really did well but I would never believe she's supposed to be 26 in this video! Ché makes this film though, which is why I love it.

  • Antonio @@ swoon...I like guys gorgeous in a hawk-like way esp ;)

  • his sole purpose in this film is a narrator he does nt have a part as a person in the fim as such ....... his job to explain the story to us as it takes place thats all

  • Aww...who cares how he got in, he looks HOT in the tux....even tho he looks better in the wife beater....

  • I also saw Che as the voice of the people - he represented what everyone was thinking

  • i like this song n the film is gd aswell

  • Oh Hell NO!! I AM CRINGING and my ears are hurting after watching and hearing this video. For those of you who loved how Madonna and Antonio sang this song, you haven't heard what singing is until you hear Mandy Patikin and Patti Lapone's version of this song. Now I see why the people of Argentina hated that Madonna played Evita.

  • She was pregnant when she made this movie, but we knew it just after. Lola was coming...LOL this song is very cute

  • antonio banderas's voice makes me melt.

  • This song is my No- 1 from Antonio Banderas. He has very nice colour of his voice.

  • Did Andrew Lloyd Weber write this?

  • @AloneAndOld yep he did

  • What a beautiful tenor

  • oooh antonio antonio banderas...

i think its about time i saw this movie.

  • madonna was born to perform in this film- it is almost everything before it led to it.

  • Che is the Narrator, hes never really anywhere as u see with waltz between Che and Evita. and he is by the far one of the best musical characters of all time!

  • ¡Perón were not a dictator! ¡Ignorant!

  • @Innuendo17arg Dictators are not inherently bad. It's just through a whole bunch of corrupt dictators over the years that they've become such a taboo.

  • @VenustasSomnium I disagree. I think the institution of dictatorship is inherently evil. Nobody should have so much power over others, ever.

  • @solarpanelasses Dictators originated in Rome and in times of crisis a consul (like the head person) could declare themselves dictator for a certain amount of time to fix up whatever was going wrong. Even in the modern there have been GOOD dictators such as Sukarno (first president of Indonesia) and Kaunda (the first president of Zambia).

I don't believe that dictatorship is a good choice of government, however calling someone a dictator doesn't automatically make them a maniac serial killer :)

  • Ok for those who haven't figured this out (and I only just figured this out myself a couple days ago, so I'm sure not a lot more know), Che is supposed to be a representation of the people of Argentina. He can be anywhere, because he doesn't really exist. He is the narrator, and he also is supposed to be how the people feel. When he and Eva are dancing, it's supposed to be her making herself feel less guilty about how she couldn't accomplish everything she set out to by talking to them(Che).

  • it is weird that i want him to bum me?

  • hey, thts antonio banderas! i've never watched this movie b4.. whats it about anyway

  • @bellebeautobias it is a theatrical adaptation of a play called Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber with Madonna and Antonio Banderas. It is based on the life of Evita Peron, the wife of Argentinian dictator Jaun Peron.

  • @parmeister35 Almost correct except that Juan Peron was not a dictator. While you may not have agreed with his politics or methods he was nevertheless elected into office and thus had a mandate from the electorate.

  • i loooove his accent! this song wouldn't be the same without his accent!!

  • i love the tune so much

  • I like this song:-)

  • he is a gatecrasher i should have thought.... and you are a silly billy.

  • this song is so beautiful, so musical.

very good band arrangements, and the lyrics are bery unique <3

  • I have an awfully large soft spot for Mandy Patinkin - so you're never going to convince me that this version of High Flying Adored is better.... But it's pretty good. I think Antonio Banderas sings very nicely.

  • she looks like princess leia from star wars in episode 4

  • He has a wonderful voice, and he plays the character perfectly! Love this movie!!! My theatre group is it, and I'm in the backround chorus. :D I'm so proud to be the random citizen in the back singing 'Peron' with picket signs!!! :D

  • LUVVVVV Evita :D i have problems for my generation

  • He has a very strong Chart of everything .

  • @Amimmika He can't sing.

  • @Mjj711 why not, he sings, not a great singer, but he sings and quite nicely.

  • Madonna felt compelled to play this roll because in her heart of hearts she knew Evita and her were sisters on so many levels in their pursuit of fame.

  • @tvviewer46 excpet Madonna has talent.

  • @tvviewer46 she knew they were both whores!

  • @tvviewer46

And that reference to Eva being a "madonna" as in Virgin Mary is doubly apt.

  • High flying, adored So young, the instant queen A rich beautiful thing, of all the talents A cross between a fantasy of the bedroom and a saint You were just a backstreet girl Hustling and fighting, scratching and biting High flying, adored Did you believe in your wildest moments All this would be yours That you'd become the lady of them all? Were there stars in your eyes When you crawled in at night From the bars, from the sidewalks From the gutter theatrical
  • @juancalbornoz why did you waste your time typing the words of the songs when people listen to it.

  • Antonio Banderas the best!!

  • Does anyone else want to know how Che got himself invited to that ball?

  • @sailorsolar121

because he is Che, Che is everywhere

  • @sailorsolar121 hahah i was wondering the same thing hes a buttface

  • Che is a storyteller, he can be everywhere and everyone

  • @sailorsolar121

  • @sailorsolar121 hahaha this comment made me laugh for some reaosn?

  • @sailorsolar121 he is the narrator--he didn't need an "invitation." Narrators in musicals just show up when and where they are needed

  • @sailorsolar121 Erm.....no, because Che represents "everyman" and, in some respects, Eva's conscience. He's not an actual character in the usual sense of the word. Im sorry this blindingly obvious fact escaped you.

  • @sailorsolar121 he used the masking techniques of tom cruise in mission impossible to look like antonio banderas.

    easy

  • @IntoxicatedTV

    LOL!!!!

Yes, that must be the explanation.

  • @sailorsolar121 i've always thought he's a waiter! 0.o

  • @sailorsolar121 Che came from a rather wealthy family in Argentina and studied medicine at university, so it wouldn't have been out of the question for him to have been invited to an event like this.

  • @sailorsolar121 I don't think you are meant to take his character quite so literally .... he is more symbolic than flesh and blood ... an observer and commentator

  • @rees276 stfu

  • @sailorsolar121 Che is a ninja.

  • @sailorsolar121 Well, Che Guevara is the narrator, and because of that indispensable for the continuation of the story.

  • @sailorsolar121 Good point. "Senor and Senora Peron, we have an unvited guest." "Who?" "It appears to be...Zorro."

  • @sailorsolar121 i think che had the role of narrator in this show which is why he is everywhere she is, he's telling her story in the cynical way..so he's not actually there

  • @originalsexyreds In the film, Che was an "everyman" , which meant that he could be anyone.

  • @sailorsolar121 Good one! lol

  • @sailorsolar121 If you read the biography on Che Guevara you'll learn his depiction in the musical and movie are insanely off. He was a huge supporter of Peron - not a detractor like he is depicted in the musical/film. He wasn't ever in Argentina during this time period, as I recall from the biography.

  • @mvezza in this hes simply a figure used to act as a narrator

  • @mvezza Che in Evita is very very loosely based on Che Guevara but he is not supposed to be him.

  • @mvezza he and evita actually met in real life. but thats not the musical lol. in the musical/movie he's supposed to represent the common man, everyone. so he could be anyone at anytime. thats why hes a protestor, a worker, at the party, the host of the charity where peron and eva meet. just a narrator. loosely based on the actual man.

  • @sailorsolar121 cause the script said so

  • Comment removed

  • @sailorsolar121 , scalper tickets.

  • @sailorsolar121 Cuz hes Che.

  • @sailorsolar121 Che is just the narrator/Voice of the People. He doesn't actually exist.

  • @sailorsolar121 evita and madonna was whores and use sex to do better in life? so what? men use sex as entertaiment

  • @sailorsolar121 I'd rather know how to get him to one I'm at!!!

  • @sailorsolar121 hee Che goes wherever he likes, in whatever role he likes! He's like the narrator of that musical!

  • @sailorsolar121 he's the narrator, of course he's gonna be there, its a musical the narrator always shows up in places that normal people of his/her stature would never be hence the ball. But I think it gives the qwhole scene not to mention the song a good explanantion of what the outside world thinks of her being political royalty so fast. She was an actress and then becam 1st lady in 2 years.... yep he gives a good outside look at evita Che neeeded to be in this scene makes sense!

  • wow! I didn't know Antonio Banderas could sing!

  • i like the musical version of this song better, but i like the other movie version songs

  • Antonio Banderas is also the crazy cat in SHREK

  • I hope someone got nominated for costume designs...

  • Brillent a fablous song brillent song

    Thanks Judie for sharing

  • Affascinante, video ed attori stupendi

    Grazie Judie per la condivisione

  • Grazie mia gioia....amo la canzoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:-))

    Kissssssssssssssss:))

  • antonio is a good actor, singer and he can dance too hes amazing really love him

  • my favourite song in the entire movie!!!!!!!!

  • Went to school with M, had a steady lunch date for 2 years.. Read this.. call me B.

  • banderas is one of the most talented singer / actors of our time without a doubt a star in everything he has done

  • Comment removed

  • Banderas deserved a lot better reviews (and award noms) than he got for this..Now when I hear a British accented Che, it sounds wrong - he made the role his.

  • @TheGroundsloth i totally agree i heard a live version and it wasn't Banderas. and i was like WHAT?? no no no it just doesn't work.....at all! i thought he was amazing in this movie, screw everyone else!

  • Antonio is perfect!!!

  • i love her dress! i love this song infact i love the hole movie!

  • This shows Antonio is not only a good actor but has a very good voice as well.

  • Thank You guys :]

    [-x-]

  • Did Antonio Banderas really sing that?

  • Che Guevara!

  • @Sambucacat no no no-it's not Guevara

  • @dariogneri He is Doctor Guevara, the original play he has a beard, and his commandant hat there are photographs.

  • Antonio is the MAN!

  • Can anyone explain to me what the gutter theatrical means?

  • @JynxxTonsilHockey i think gutter theatrical refers to B-grade shows... or something like porn films.

  • @JynxxTonsilHockey i think hooker?

  • she is perfect in this role. amazing.this woman can really do everything

  • Madonna was born for this role. Bravissima!

  • One thing I think this film did right was having Che represented as an everyman charcater instead of Che Guevera

  • Just note though, if you see this movie first and then see the musical, you may be disappointed. I loved the movie so much and then saw the musical; and though I found the musical to be good, I found the movie to be better.

  • @greekgal : It was just the opposite for me. I saw the broadway musical 3 times. I was impressed with the movie and Madonna's performance but I still the prefer the original play.

  • @TheYooperdog I don't know what it was. I just kept having Madona's Evita in my head when I saw the musical so the actors in the musical didn't excite me as much. But I did find quite a few aspects of the musical to be great. Like when they sang the Rainbow Tour and had actual footage of Eva's tour of Europe!

  • This clip reminds me of life in general. You are born, work hard, and there comes a time to die. (ps I didn't watch the move.)

  • so blissful......

  • I love che!!!!

  • I love this song! It's so a wonderfull melody!

  • This is a perfect blend of talent. I didn't think I would like either of them in these roles, but these roles will be an immortal demonstration of how great both these actors are

  • can any one clear up for me if che is actually ernesto "che" guavera? i know he was argentinian but he was a leader in the cuban revolution, ive just always been curious.

  • @actonechick Yes... Che is "Ernesto Che Guevara". But remember this is just a music hall, actually they never met each other. But, they both are important characters for Argentinian History., so the composer thought it might be interesting to let Che Guevara to judge Evita.

  • @EnriCuchetti i realize they never met each other. XD She died in 1952 and the revolution was 1959 if i have my dates correct. he was on his bike trip thru the andes at this time and there really wasnt that much evidence to who he was weather he was an ambiguous narrator named che or if it was historical interpratation thru his eyes. iwas just a little confused XD

  • @actonechick the Che in the film is definitely not Che Guevara, bravo for the date data, hope people read your comment... he is a Greek chorus figure representing the people, admittedly the role of Guevara could be a historical interpretation thru his eyes...

  • @EnriCuchetti no he isnt

  • @actonechick no he isn't, but a generic Greek chorus spokesman for the people of Argentina, torn between admiration and hate for Evita....

  • @anisete46 Apparently, in the show, he is suppose to be Che Guevara, but he was given a much more important role in the show than what the actual Che Guevara would have been in the real times of Eva Peron. I don't know the actual history of Eva or Che, but in the actual musical, he is suppose to be Che Guevara

  • @greekgal

but it's not formally stated, he's actually the Audience "focus character". That is he's the character the Audience gains accesss to the events through. He's kind of the narrator of the musical(and film), the on screen character who represents the audience in the events but also tells the audience the story.
