  • When was the last time anyone connected with popular music just tried to create something beautiful?

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

  • high harmony !

  • no words...a soul gasp of gratitude to these beautiful people.manchester paul.

  • I'd forgotten just how remarkable and fun their songs/these people are. We've got to get back to where we wanted to be, or where we thought we were!

  • What is it about their music that evokes such bitter-sweet nostalgia? Look at the comments here and on their other YT stuff.

I love them as much now - - no, more - than when i listened to them 40 years ago and skipped down the street singing with my girl-friend after one of their concerts. They were and are quite superb. Nobody quite like them.

  • God, I miss them. And those times...

  • Those were the days !

    Really a magic decade.

Everyone was positve, creative and loving. Now we just have the memories !

  • Have decided that after 40 years its time to get back to what I wanted. Cheers off travelling

  • Great song and the images work really well, nice one!

  • uNgentle Biscy Bay..

    =(

  • My God what great memories! Where the hell did those 40 years go?

  • @davmccorm

Yes, whatever happened? I used to listen to the ISB during an annual arts festival held in Wales. A time of freedom, passion, optimism and expectation, free from the responsibilities which 40 years piles on. These songs revive emotions (and great memories) I'd forgotten - almost unbearable today, but quite beautiful, huh?

  • The girl with the beautiful voice is "Licorice" (Christana McKechnie).

This song where she makes one`s flesh creep and tears in my eyes for 35 years.

Amazing whole arrangement and atmosphere of instrument and voices is pure aesthetics as its best !

  • Oh "Licorice"Christina McKechnie´s voice is so facinating beautiful !

  • Would it be possible for you to post "The Actor" also from Earthspan?

    Thanks

  • I'll second that! And thanks for posting the lyrics.

  • Hi HappyRick, I posted "The Actor" for you. Enjoy. Happy New Year. Greetings from Portugal

  • Hi Lady Sonya:

Thank you so very much for posting The Actor. It is greatly appreciated.

And a very Happy New Year to you in Portugal, from me in the USA -- an Americano with

    some Spanish & Portuguese ancestry.

My family left Spain and then Portugal about 500 years ago as a result of the Reconquista & Inquisition. And only last year,

my daughter visited Portugal for about a month she has been living in Sevilla for about 4 years now. She greatly enjoyed the trip to Portugal.

  • Thanks for posting this great song. Sorry for the typo. It should read:

"May luck pursue you, my darling boy"

... (and may luck pursue us all!)

I remember seeing the ISB at the Fillmore East in 1969 or thereabouts with my girlfriend Maureen Sharkey.

  • Banks of Sweet Italy

    ====================

And must you go -- my flower, my gem

my laughter and my hope of joy

to follow fortune through all the world

make luck pursue you my darling boy

The sun shines bright in France

Yellow it shines on high barbaree

O be my light of day

Tarry not long on the banks of sweet Italy

  • a golden ring is a precious thing

red stockings and shoes of green

a dwelling place with painted door

a wide white bed to love you in

    summer's gone with calm days

    ungentle now is Biscay Bay

a cold fear claims my heart

god save all sailors from the cruel waves.

  • Great song! Licorice had the voice of an angel.
