Personally, (I am Christian myself) think that this line tries to make God seem more human, tangible, and realistic. Like someone said before, someone does all three things mentioned in this bit. But if the mention of "God" in a GREAT song offends you so much, make sure you never say "Oh my god," "Jesus!" or any religious reference.
