For the next 5-10 years their will hardly be any real intrest in an overpriced vila or appartment in Dubai.
But everything was build with the idea that there will allways be enough intrest in all of it.
With the intrest all gone on the large scale it will be hard times to finish the still ongoing projects, even harder will be to bring in people that still want to buy.

Dubai is an artificial "city" built in the middle of nowhere. What industry is going to sustain it? Tourism, culture, shopping, gambling?
There is nothing in Dubai except real estate investment. Now that bubble has burst.
Fine.... build 500 skycrapers in ten years - whose going to live or work in them? Vegas was built on gambling, Dubai was built on cards - credit cards.

Dubai will unfortunately have a lot of trouble surviving 50-100 years from now when no ones buying there oil anymore. I think they know this and that's why they are trying to turn revenue from other avenues.

Dubai is a great city guys, who lives here realize after sometime ... typically less than a year... It is addictive ... Keep in mind that it is a city put on the map only 10 years ago, and in the middle of instable political part of the world ... just to name few challenges ... it has acheived a lot already ... still lots of work to be done but it will certainly get there ... no doubts ... I personally think it was over priced ... and it is now only getting normal ...

nah, It will no longer be the pearl of the gulf. It seems that dubai was expanding without any clear economic plan. No clear financial system, most of the projects were unfeasible, etc.

I used to live there, moved to toronto in '03. I'm glad I got out. It's not like before.....
