They SHOULD have just had the camera pan out while all the shooting and chaos was happening. That would have been a great ending. By doing close ups of everyone "passed out" on the floor, it made it so absurd and cheesy. Every single character can not be knocked unconscious unless they are ALL dead or critically wounded-- which as we later found out, they werent!
This continuity/reality issue could have been easily avoided by not doing the dramatic close ups at the end. Had great potential!
One thing I've never understood was it was supposed to be a royal wedding, yet the ceremony was small. You'd think they would have had it at a larger place.
The absence of commandos and helicopters saving the Carringtons in the next season's premiere occurred for the same reason - Aaron Spelling's cost-cutting ways.
@RadioLaPrincess Alexis sheds some light on this with her dialogue with Amanda in the opening scene. The family was assembled for the religious ceremony on Sunday and there was to be a State Ceremony on Monday. The family ceremony was held at the palace where the State Ceremony would have been held a cathederal.
I love the woman's expression at 8:39. And I don't care what anyone says: this was a great cliffhanger. It was the resolution that left so much to be desired.
It certainly was. And it could've been resolved in so many wonderful ways... Plus, has anyone seen the original script for season 6 premiere? It's available on a French fansite. They really did give all of Alexis' lines to Krystle (because Joan Collins stayed off the set over a salary dispute). The episode would've made a little more sense had it been made in line with the original script. It was so funny to hear Krystle say things Alexis was supposed to have said. How inept is that?
You know, I have often wondered if things would have been different had Joan returned to the set on time. I have always applauded her chutzpah to really play hardball like that but in the long run it just contributed to the many, many script problems in the 6th season.
Yes, I saw your suggestion in another thread. Thanks. :) I do like it. I'll kick it around (as Kimberly said to Amanda back in season 3 - to which Amanda replied: 'I know what I'd like to kick around..." ...lol...). But, I'd probably call it: "Tuesdays are a Bitch!" :)
This episode seemed a bit unrealistic to me x

This was the private family ceremony. The state ceremony was supposed to be the following day.
