I think we should resist the commercial temptation to make trance a mainstream genre. It was never meant to be that way. Back in the late 90s, when I was growing up, trance was the preserve of connoisseurs and enthusiasts. And the artists recognised that; we understood them and they understood us. Now you have teenagers who can't recognise the difference between trance and Lady Gaga. Not the musical difference, but the different purpose and spirit of the music.
These are dark times my friends. No one really knows what is waiting around the corner. Wars, made up of beats and rhythms rage across the world and [showers????] splinter into a million fragments, constantly creating new signatures.
Meanwhile, the world is spinning, to counteract the energy that is created by such forces pulling at the very fabric of space and time. Our lives are being misshapen by entities that strive to control, conceptualise and forego [makes no sense; to forego = to precede] the boundaries that were once made to be broken. Listen, the power is streaming beneath your feet and it's building day by day by day by day by day.
We need to recover from this state. We need to emerge the state [to state?? - this is grammatically incorrect] that unifies the world's consciousness - a revolution of a universal scale where the many factions of music bind together to create one massive surge, bringing its [bearers?] together, engaging the strength of the sounds' truest bonds.
Once again, we need to look to the sky and see the sign that lifts us to the planes that bring the deepest light to our faces, to the ultimate state of trance.
Let's descend dozn the rabbithole once again. This was your year 2009.
