Im chinese, and Im not even impress with most of the Americans vehicles. No offense...but they arent cheap enough and dont even last long enough.....Thats why I drive a toyota...
Today the auto, tomorrow the airplane. With all the Chinese techonlogical geniuses, China should be building totally electric cars. China's 1.33 billion people almost demands that they make better polution decisions than their American counterparts. Wouldn't it have been nice to have maintained our car industry dominance & sold cars in a 1billion car buying market? But no, we gave it away. We're just dumb. Nixon/Kissinger sewed these seeds and Bush/Dick harvested the bounty.
yeah, you're right - market is the way things are innovated. but then the chinese communist market is a better market than the american capitalist one, right?
so you mean that the chinese government subsidizes their market? is that what you mean by stimulated? well the u.s. gives billions of dollars to the car companies, not to mention the farmers, the banks, insurance companies.
that they sell more because they have a larger consumer base is absurd. american car companies operate in dozens of countries across the world, including china. the economy is a global economy.
Both are only locally subsidized though. So there goes the absurdity claim. It doesn't matter whether or not a company operates in several nation (GM Canada didn't go bankrupt, for instance, nor did Opel AFAIK, however Opel did get help to remain in operation), what matters is that in the end, America has been ridding in a financial bubble that has burst, funded by Chinese savings. Now China starts consumming and the US car market is at an all-time low (lost nearly half of the market).
***China starts consumming because the government is doing everything to limit the impact of the recession, stimulating national consumption to overcome the massive drop in exports. If exports don't go up anytime soon to sustainable levels the bubble will burst.
so both the u.s. and china are subsidizing sections of their market but they do it differently. accordingly, china stimulates consumption, and u.s. posts up businesses. then the chinese prices go up so they can't sell more cars, and the u.s. dollar is down so they buy less cars from chinese and you predict that this will cause over-speculation? but how can there be over-speculation without consumer markets? is the gov't spending considered a different kind of spending than consumer spending?
blame big labor and liberals, o wait, I just repeated myself. the problem is 60% of big laber disagree with with liberls but don't think about it, and to the extent the do, sell out.

It's only larger (demographics!) and STIMULATED. It's virtual growth created by the state.

Why does the media refer to China as "Communist China"? They don't say "Capitalist United States" when referring to us.
Both would be wrong either way since China is more capitalist than the U.S..
