Well, cell division is a characteristic of the live cells. Right after the fertilization, the zigote starts it's mitosis. So it is very probably that the life of the new human being starts with the fertilization.

If you can kill it, it's alive. Simple as that. If you try to give me bullcrap "what about all the sperm cells that don't turn into infants?" If you can't see the difference you are an idiot. Those ones you CANNOT prevent them being killed.

Human rights does not begin with birth... the baby is a PERSON therefore he/she has human right before they are born, he/she has the RIGHT TO LIFE, and the same human rights that just as the mother... and it is not a right that can be taken away just because he/she is not born.
I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I'm just so happy that get to see what my baby looks like hahahah thank God for everything :)

i was a biology major. life begins the moment the cell begins to devide. there is no such thing as half life, there is life or no life. please forward this to everyone you know. life is so precious, it should not be destroyed. this little person is doing his job, he's growing and wants to come out to see the world. he is not responsible for the actions of the 2 people that made him and they don't have the right to take away his chance for life. this is a person, no matter how small.

@flossy1950 I agree 100 percent.. Me and my wife are having our first child and 100 percent life begins the moment the cell begins to divide.. I believe Abortion should only be used in two cases Incest and Rape...Since abortion is allowed the govnt needs to let process of abortion be used to help and preserve life with stem cell research..There are young kids with lukemia, young adults with MS, living with cancer, paralized.. At least give those who are sick have some hope.

Technically the sperm is alive already isn't it?
The more important question is when does human life begin and when do the mothers human rights end and the child's human rights begin.
I think human life and human rights begin with birth.

Now, don't misunderstand me.
I am an atheist and independently of that I am pro choice.
I think if a couple wants to wait until they can provide a caring and financially capable home, abortion is a perfectly valid method of preventing birth.
Its far worse to have child whose parents have no time or no money than killing an embrio and waiting a couple of years.

Life begins at the moment of conception. Life does NOT begin at birth. We are human beings with a soul the moment the egg is fertilized by the sperm.

I'm afraid you're wrong. Human life begins at CONCEPTION. Life does not begin at birth. It begins before the baby is even born and that is why abortion is so wrong. Killing a human life in the womb is the worst tragedy ever.

Who cares about life?
Surely bacteria and plants are alive, but they have no rights.
Even Animals can be killed for food, yum!
The real question is:
when do human rights begin and WHY
and no more:
"X is true because my imaginary friend told me so"!

Dr. Alfred M. Bongioanni is one of them.
Dr. Jerome LeJeune is another one.
Professor Hymie Gordon from the Mayo Clinic also says that life begins at conception.
Professor Micheline Matthews-Roth from Harvard University Medical School says, "It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception."

However, there is no better proof than YOU that life begins at conception. We do not come from an acorn. We are human beings who came from a fertilized egg from the moment that egg became fertilized.
