I love this "miniature look" and this vid is one of the best of its kind!
I was wondering, if you have captured the images in video mode or single shots with the Intervalometer. If you have used the IVM which intervalls did you set it while capturing and which software have you used to make a movie out of it?
What is your favorite focal lenght TS-E lens? (Because I'm thinking of buying one TS-E lens, but I'm not sure which focal length I should go for...)
It's been 42 years since we visited Vancouver. Remember when men walked on the moon? That's how long it's been :0( Always meant to come back. Thanks for the 'quick visit' - great job!
Thanks, @fireoth! Not really sure what the tugboats were doing—putting on an impromptu show? Testing their controls? Regardless, pretty fun to see. Thanks for watching!
Excellent work. The only criticism I have is the repetitiveness of shots and lack of diversity in subject matter. As I watched, I yearned to see more aspects of the urban fabric which constitute the city. I hope you will consider creating a more layered, dynamic and varied portrayal of "a day in the life" of Vancouver in the future.
Thanks for watching, @bigbreasts4444. Yeah, it's by no means a comprehensive look at the city. I suppose a more appropriate title would have been "Miniature Scenes from Vancover". But, as I mentioned earlier in this thread to @mega1 (who had feedback similar to yours), I would love to create a piece highlighting the great diversity that makes up Vancouver. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your feedback!
Hi Dangerous 68! I posted a comment saying how great is your job yesteday.
I am back today, this video really catch my attention. I am sending it to all my friends via email and facebook. I hope you don't mind.
If you are planning on doing more videos and want a shot from Davie St/ Ocean/ Downtown.. you can count with me. You are more than welcome to come and use my place for your work.. I can send you a couple of pics.
I just wondering how you make things into miniature? is it a special camera?
This is why I love Vancouver! Amazing job. The music is just as great. I can't describe how awesome this video is. It's weird cause it looked so real to me. Well done!
Thanks, @moneeekar! Glad to hear you liked it, and that it reminds you of why you love Vancouver! And if you're interested in Vital's music, you can download his EP for free at officialvital (dotcom). I think the EP is pretty great, and Vital's management was very cool about letting me use the song. Thanks for posting!
There. This explains why I fell in love with this city in the first place.
Love love love your clips and music. Just a friendly suggestion... it's mostly about the Waterfront area... if you update this again, could you include more about Yaletown, Kitslano, Granville Island, etc? I believe the diversity of our vibrant communities make Vancouver such an amazing place.
Thanks, @mega1e. I'm almost finished with "Miniature Vancouver II". It's a bit more diverse (spent last Sunday shooting from the Granville St. Bridge) but not yet covering all the areas in the city you've mentioned. And yes, I'd love to do a piece that's a bit more comprehensive, showcasing this city's wonderful diversity. Guess I'll be knocking on a few more doors to ask if I can set up my camera on the roof :-)
Many thanks, @jrgrasby. That's really great to hear. You can download Vital's EP for free on his website: officialvital (dotcom). Thanks for watching and posting!
Yeah, I'd have to agree with @Demelza79, Vancouver is by FAR the cleanest city I've lived in. Glad to see it comes through in the video. And sorry to hear about the pollution :-(
foggie, not sure why the tugboats were spinning. I've thought perhaps they were putting on an impromptu show, or perhaps even testing their controls. Regardless, it is pretty fun to watch. When I was editing, I named the clip "tugboat ballet". Thanks for watching!

Nice work! From this video we can tell that Vancouver is a very busy city and every car has passed the speed limit of 50 km/h!
