  • pretty damn clever...

  • I could definitely see an application for this in places like a hospital and public restrooms where people are sick and you don't know what they have. But it has very little usage in a household bathroom. I mean if a family member has contaminated bacteria in their feces chances are you would end up inhaling it regardless of this product if you live with them. Those particles can be inhaled from farts rather than just the bathroom.

  • @flipx900

You're correct on every point except the farts :)

    Shut the lid!

    JMS

  • I don't think I'd spend money on this. It seems unnecessary .

  • @Ramiel4

I understand but there are many who should. The product is not currently available but hope fully soon.

    JMS

  • People get more sick off spoiled food than anything

  • @junkyturd

    You are correct.

    JMS

  • 47 PEOPLE DONT FLUSH

  • @TheXbonesification

    Which 47 ?

    JMS

  • sick...

  • @wildcamel1983

    I agree.

    JMS

  • @safuto

Yeah, I'm sorta biased towards the truth.

    My fault entirely.

  • lol just because bacteria is there doesn't mean its harming you.

  • @NuNuPants

    Really???

  • This product may very well sell in the USA.

Mostly because drug companies have been undergoing a campaign of fear mongering and disinformation there for nearly a decade. Disinfection and containment are not viable solutions for the home, they're a pitiful waste of money.

    Want to be healthy?

Eat properly, exercise regularly, wash regularly. But whatever you do don't buy into disinfectant soap and worthless gimmicks. It weakens your immune system and sucks your wallet dry... and that is all.

  • @Kirzen

No haters here Kirzen. You obviously are biased when it comes to research. My mind is open and I look at both sides. BTW I have friends who have AIDS, others undergoing chemotherapy and some with respiratory problems. Your "argument" doesn't hold water in the real world. Open your mind and accept that there are better ways. Study Dr Charles Gerba's work. He was doing this research when you were a gleam in your Mom and Dads eye. Stay healthy. JS

  • @Kirzen

    I respect your opinion.

    JMS

  • Want to know what the dirtiest, nastiest, most infectious places in your home have -nothing- to do with the bathroom.

They're things that don't get cleaned on a regular basis or receive a great deal of contact with people. Its the door knobs, the remote controls, the phones, your car keys, your fridge door.

This thing is pure trash. The bacteria on the surfaces in your bathroom are of almost zero consequence compared to the jungle in the rest of your house.

    /invertebrate bio major

  • @Kirzen ,

You are correct that other areas of your home are dirtier. But you are wrong that the bathroom has zero consequence. Your comment about this product being trash is uncalled for and rude.

  • @Kirzen exactly. especially computer mice and keyboards are very filthy in terms of bacteria count. The toilet seat is actually one of the cleanest parts of the bathroom.

  • @Kirzen Again stop thinking TOILET SEAT and start thinking what becomes airborne. Please do the research first before you comment. Last time boys and girls :)...Google Dr Charles Gerba and Toilet aerosols. Also Google Toilet Flushing + SARS for a real shocker. Pureflush has a great video clip from the Dr Oz show you might like.

  • @safuto

Perhaps you completely missed the fact that I majored in invertebrate biology. I've DONE the research, I've done in school what you paid a third party lab to do, I've run surface tests on all sorts of different objects. The nastiest five are 1 > Kitchen Sponge / 2 > Front Door Knob / 3 > Telephone / 4 > Keyboard / 5 > Fridge Door Handle

It has everything to do with moisture, time between cleanings, and how often multiple people touch it.

Airborne toilet mist is a complete non-issue.

  • No it does not solve a real problem. It makes germofobia worse.

Brush your teeth with e.coli. That's why we have an immune system.

  • @Muscleduck ,

You will note that I usually don't reply to comments that make ask people to "brush their teeth with e-coli because it's OK". Do you really think it's OK? really? Why do 36,000 people die each year from influenza in the U.S, ? What about their immune systems? Why aren't they being protected? All I ask is that you research before you comment. PLEASE.

  • @safuto Actually, they don't die from e.coli on their toothbrush but from eating bad food. You don't die from e.coli on your toothbrush, unless you have a VERY weak immune system, like maybe when you have AIDS or another disease that attacks your immune system. it would surprise me if even 1 elderly person, who have a weaker immune system, has ever died of e.coli on their toothbrush.

Btw, influenza is a virus that gives you the flue, E.coli is a bacteria, something entirely different.

  • @Muscleduck ,

I know that ecoli is a bacteria. My statement that is fact is that 36,000 people die every year from the flu. You dont have to be an AIDS patient to have a weak immune sysytem. 1 out of 4 people in the US. Feces contains approx 30% bacteria and when a person is Ill viruses as well. EVERY time the toilet is flushed micro particles containing these bacteria and viruses are ejected. THAT'S FACT.

This product has NOTHING to do with whats on a toilet seat. Its whats in the air. JS

  • @safuto u are fucked in the head if u seriously think this is a great help to rid our lives of bactieria. Like Kirzen said theres many other places to look for first for worse bacteria levels. you say its not the seat itself, but airborne. no shit we understand, but still its like worrying about a pimple on your forehead when you have staph infection on your leg..

  • @idgara007

I'm only trying to help. No need for anger.

    JMS

  • when the seat is up it's useless. and its up when you peeps and poops. horrible

  • @5T3V1L

It's when you flush that you have the option to shut the lid. You.re hopefully not sitting down then.

    JMS

  • Sorry, but I don't want to go through a learning curve when flushing my toilet.

  • @Rawk4Life

If it could help wouldn't you want to know?

    JMS

  • Oh my God! Bacterial growth???

    RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!

  • @beklanaze

Walking for your life is safer.

    JMS

  • You're not going to get AIDS from a toilet. tard.

  • @BlueHandBlackGlove

I never claimed you could. Did you read or hear that anywhere during the presentation?

    JMS

  • so you claim you reply to all legitimate arguments, but you approve which ones you want to be posted? that's a bit hypocritical, seeing as how you simply choose which ones you want public, therefore probably all the other ones proving why your invention is pure garbage.

  • Heychill,

The only comments I block have offensive or obscene language. Your comment claiming my invention is "pure garbage" is incorrect and rude but you have an opinion and that's ok. Its a false fact that "everyone" should be exposed to bacteria and viruses "because their bodies need to become immune". Hang out at an AIDs clinic then get back to me. By 10 yrs or younger most people have met enough germs to have a healthy immune system. If you want to continue contributing here play fair.

  • seems kind of excessive. in society today, people have become so afraid of bacteria and other germs that it's become detrimental to their health. since less kids are being exposed to them, their immune systems can no longer fight them back on the occasion when the bacteria does enter the body.

  • something like this will definitely improve things beyond the bathroom. I can recall back in highschool biology - we took several swabs from various surfaces in the classroom (tv remote, seats, door handles). When the bacteria were grown, we found all kinds of crazy crap growing, particularily bacteria you would expect to find in a bathroom.

nice invention, but we all know bullet ball is the greatest thing ever.

  • continue:

Although there could be a simpler slution in just make it so when someone flushes the toilet lid auto-closes using a trigger to set off a small suspension idea making it easly liftable and saved us men a job xD. an flaps over so the "Bacteria spray" cannot get out using the conventional system".

  • @RedTactic

I'll go with that :) as long as the lid closes quickly.

    JMS

  • People saying the stuff about the germs. There all wrong. People do care about the jerms or there would be nothing like disinfectancts, detol<<<<Big buyer in uk. Germs are unwanted and a health risk so good job.

  • it's amazing that you can think of something like this!!!

  • haha this video has been up for 2 years and you've responded to almost every comment. that owns.

  • Thank You. I honestly try my best to reply to legitimate comments. I know it seems far fetched but the Dr Oz show did a segment on this. Please search youtube for "Dr Oz show Bathroom Germs". I don't make this up :)

    JS

  • no you don't. you keep ignoring the people who do give good points. after multiple searches, i read that getting sick from toilet seats is extremely minimal. furthermore, i find this excessive: exposure of bacteria strengthens the immune system. that's why kids are getting sick so often these days: germophobes are sterilizing everything.

one more thing: stop replying back in such a condescending manner: it's really annoying. start by removing your initals after every comment.

  • The mist that comes out does not contaminate anything, and is therefore, not a problem. Mythbusters proved it.

  • Actually Mythbusters PROVED it. Re watch the episode. There's "POO" everywhere...yiikes. This product is designed for those with compromised immune systems. Not for everybody.

    JS

  • Why are people so afraid of bacteria? It's actually healthy for your immune system to get some bacteria.

  • There are 75 million people in the U.S. that have compromised or undeveloped immune systems. That's 1 out of 4. For this unfortunate group bacteria and viruses should be avoided.. I know people with AIDS, undergoing Chemo, pregnant women, children under 5, senior citizens, etc. this product can help.

    JS

  • I just realized you're the guy in the video LOL

  • I'm just wondering how anyone can get sick by sitting on a toilet, cause I do it all the time and not once in my life have I ever gotten sick by sitting on the toilet. This could be useful in public washrooms however.

  • Check out the "DR Oz show bathroom Germs" on youtube for you answer.

    JS

  • Heh...One can search YouTube for "Toothbrush Surprise - Flushing with the lid up" to see, what MythBusters found out, when studying this topic.

  • @clothearednincompoop

Again, they concluded that there's POOP everywhere!

    JMS

  • more genius is a self closing toilet lid.

  • @DemonosZXZ

It exists already but there is still leakage out of the sides.

    JMS

  • Something more along the lines of converting said gas and the "bacteria" within it to something harmless(or just kill the bacteria all together) would have been much more useful than just retaining it. I am not sure what it does though, so be a good sport and don't insult me with blatant stereotypical comments such as the ones directed at misspothead, because just as she can be obsessed with weed, you are with cleaning the toilets we have used in the same conditions for over 50 years now. ;)

  • No insult to "misspothead" but the comment and the screen name kinda ask for a rebuttal.

    "Mss pot head" my apologies.

    JS

  • You're way to focused on human waste.

  • Sorry.

    JS

  • LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @STRYKER7191

You have the right to disagree. I'm just trying to help.

    JMS

  • Is there a site where we can read these other tests you mentioned?

  • Search youtube for "DR OZ show BATHROOM GERMS" to start then research Dr Charles Gerba and his groundbreaking paper on TOILET AEROSOLS.

    JS

  • ...

So you made a air-tight seat?

    woopdie-fucking-do.

Go cure cancer or something useful. Your mouth has far more germs than a toilet, maybe you should tape THAT shut instead. At least then we wouldn't have to listen to anymore of your "great ideas."

  • Your comment is rude and obscene. The product is not "an airtight seat".

I'm open for legitimate discussion but please be kind :)

    JS

  • kvn8907,

Saying this product is worthless in unfair. Claiming I don't wash my hands is malicious.

    JS

  • siiigh, dude, how many ppl died for flushing their toilets with the seat up? srsly, it's true there are some bacteria, like there is everywhere in ppl's houses. over the centuries, ppl grew immunities to certain types, or we'd be extinct. and unless someone lives in a craphole, i srsly doubt that germs from a few flushes will do any harm. if there are deaths and serious diseases from flushing a toilet, do present proof

  • Please google "SARS + TOILET FLUSHING". then comment.

    JS

  • there are worse germs and bacteria in places where ppl walk by on a daily basis...trains, cars, bus stops, some restaurants...heck, even cash

  • I agree. I'm focusing on Health care facilities and the like.

    JS

  • You don't wash your hands.. Haha

  • @jaekn

    I always do.

    JMS

  • There are two problems with this.

First, saying that mist comes out after you flush is besides the point. Just because there is mist, doesn't mean it's spreading bacteria. There are plenty of other sources of bacteria in a home, and I'd be surprised if a simple mist was responsible for much of it.

Second, I question their testing method. I assume the first test was an unmodified bathroom. They'd have to clean it for the second test. That's probably what showed up, not the Pureflush.

  • kvn8907,

Please don't take my word for any of these claims. Use any search engine you want and search for Dr Charles Gerba of Arizona state U. His groundbreaking paper on Toilet aerosols covers it all. No joking, No kidding. Fair?

    JS

  • Sorry to say but it is a worthless invention, like everyone is saying we are used to this bacteria obviously....after all we are all still alive after we take a piss

  • Miss Pothead,

Sorry you don't agree with experts. "keep on smokin da' weed". I'm certain it will make you immune to all germs.

    JS

  • The last thing the western world needs is less germs, less germs causes more allergies. There's no epidemics caused by bathroom germs. This is a stupid invention.

  • listigt,

Your comment is rude. Take the time and research what you say. Unless you know more than experts please play somewhere else.

    Thank you and stay well.

    JS

  • wow, THE BACTERIA PRESENT DONT CAUSE ANY HARM! w eare used to them.. does it mean that we will live longer with this new seat?

  • your also not ''awarded'' a USPTO?? Its not something you should be banding around like a prize?! you just apply and recieve.

Many MANY products are granted patents every month.

  • Meaty Rich,

You are correct that a patent is not awarded it is granted. The change has been made. On all other counts you are incorrect. There is much research done to show negative affects from toilet spray. Also this has NOTHING to do with germs ON the seat. It's what is in the AIR and left behind on toothbrushes, etc. JS

  • MeatyRich,

FYI Patents are not easily granted. Especially Utility patents that this invention received. Some design patents are easier than others but this invention went through more than 3 years of intense scrutiny before the USPTO decided it was worthy of a utility patent. JS

  • quite a good idea.

  • I can see this being very big in Japan. They're very into bathroom gadgets.

  • thats great. i'd buy it :o

  • holy crap that's gross i would definitely buy one of those

  • put a sensor on the seat and a timer that automatically activates a tiny motor which nudges the seat closed if nothing is sensed withing the radius of the toilet seat... that way it will close itself without the danger of anyone getting hit with a toilet seat... just a thought :P

  • i love it!

  • Millions of people keep their toothbrushes in their bathrooms without any problems, but I'm still apprehensive about having fecal bacteria in my mouth (also, my bathroom is the household one). Currently, I keep my toothbrush in my room, separated from the bathroom, because of this irrational fear. Sometimes I forget to take the toothbrush in the morning and end up having to brush later in my morning routine. I would definitely buy your invention. Great idea, excellent solution for freaks like me

  • lol

they want to save the world one flush at a time

  • We are at a time in history 100 years down the track where the excitement of Henry Ford and his Motor Car, Alexander Graham Bell, Guglielmo Marconi, Thomas Edison and his wonderful inventions & others that paved the development of the 20th Century has been reinstalled into the hearts and minds of those engaged in the development of technology passing into the 21st Century.

  • I didin't expect anyone to post their own performance on this show to the internet. Hope your getting some money out of that invention.

  • People have thrived for thousands of years without this stuff. By allianting ourselves from the world around us we are actually weakening our imune systems. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.....

  • dude we are living with out this stupid shit obsorber....anyways how do u sit on it after using it for like three monthes ur gonna put ur back to it and its gonna get stuck to ur shirt

  • nunurox,

This toilet seat does not absorb "shit". Any particles that are ejected are trapped WITHIN the lid onto a filter away from shirts or anything else that might contact the back of the seat.

I understand your concern though. I've spent many years and 10's of thousands of dollars to create something that isn't a piece of junk and very consumer friendly. Doctor's, Nurses and health care professionals recognize this. I hope one day I can help many people.

    Thanks.

    JS

  • the "bacteria" form the load is gonna go to the filter andf if u dont change it your gonna put your back to it (the lid that is in the shape of a flower abd doesnt cover the whole filter) leaving you with a flower of shit on your back.

At a point you have it, its gonna smell so bad that you will need to change it like every month (nasty!). when you take it out your gonna have to peel it out cause its gonna be so sticky and ur gonna have to hold it and get all the bacteria off yourself

  • nunurox,

You're thinking way too much into this. Glad you're thinking though. Yes particles go onto the filter but the filter is set back from the seat. "Flower pattern Poo" (FPP) isn't likely. What do you get on your shirt with your current toilet seat when you lean against it? Shoudn't be doing that nunurox. You wouldn't want TTSPP (Typical Toilet Seat Poo Particles)on your Affliction 100 dollar shirt.

Hope you get my point :)

    Stay well,

    JS

  • Yeah well i gues its good that your invention will acctually do some good for the world (better then that other toliet invention whr u put the clip on top of the toliet door.)take care my freind

  • TTSPP??!! Are u being serious??? u didn't answer his question and did not come across in a coherent manner.

Nor did you clearly identify his very valid points

There are many reasons why this product is a redundant. You have created a solution to a problem which never existed, one which is clearly made to take advantage and feed off peoples fears.

Our bodys need exposure to certain degrees of bacteria in order to obtain a well regulated immune system.

  • FACT, there is NO evidence to suggest any serious degree of harm to anyone with a ''compromised'' level of health, even over an extended period of time.

Unless the individual chooses to eat off their toilet seat, any bacteria left on the average homeowners toilet is MINIMAL.

Your sales jargon and ridiculous abbreviations are laughable.

Though you may enjoy stating your desire to save peoples lives your sole intention appears to be profiting from others phobias.

  • ChipZilla69,

Thank you for your comment. This product has NOTHING to do with weakening immune systems. It's to PROTECT those WITH weakened immune systems. I understand your concern but I've spent many years of my life to help...not to hurt society :)

    JS

  • my bad, I think you product could really fly but it might be an idea to team up with the bullet ball guy first. together you could make an unstopable team.

  • ChipZilla69,

Thanks for the re-thinking but do I smell sarcasm when you suggest me and bullet dude should team up? :)

I'll go it alone this time. Sorry Bullet Ball Guy.

    JS

  • haha, your a good sport. I was just pulling your leg. hope it works out for you :)

  • I like the product. I think toilet facilities by and large are woefully underdeveloped, and this is a positive step in the right direction. Some feature to stop splashback when men urinate would also be good. Most mens shoes are covered in trace amounts of urine, both theirs and often that of others.

  • japseye2,

    Thank you.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • Mate, you piss in it, you flush it. Thats all you need.

  • You are entitled to your opinion.

    :)

    JS

  • on a separate note..Not a great idea to ''expect'' ure market to suddenly begin putting the toilet seat down?

Inherent habits wont change on the basis of a single product! ;)

  • I think the fact that you have needed to defend this product so continuously from so much criticism speaks volumes :)

scare mongering, aimed at the paranoid market!

If your mother died from bacteria from the toilet, then her immune system must of been catastrophically weak regardless. (My sympathys)

Toilet discharge poses very little threat, ure website doesn't suggest otherwise, its a series of very loosely worded jargon.

  • Chunks1967,

Any new idea meets with criticism. As for your reference about fear mongering: Not what this product is about. How many would you like to buy? :)

    JS

  • Most people just wouldn't adapt to putting the seat down before flushing. Have something pop up to block it when you flush. That would sell.

  • Terrawful,

    Interesting thought. Thanks.

    JS

  • did they say yes?

  • I believe they already gave them the 50 000 to create it.

  • great idea, it prevents people from getting bacteria in their bodies. i know that there are good and bad bacteria, but i think they wouldnt have counted the good bacteria that were growing, only the harmful ones (i probaby sound like a complete idiot, but still). and anyway poo isnt exactly healthy, so i doubt there would be alot of good bacteria in it. correct me please cos im not that good in biology so im basically speaking out of general knowledge.

  • farida92,

You are correct. Bad and good bacteria. Feces contains 30% bacteria. It's viruses within the waste that cause problems (colds, flus, stomach and digestive tract problems and many more including cruise ships #1 health hazard the NOROVIRUS). It's called the fecal oral route. Google it.

Thank you for your positive point of view. You're not an idiot.

    JS

  • howie mandel would want this

  • This idea is stupid. America is so obssessed with health right now that they can be sold ANYTHING. And this is a dumb money grabbing idea. Why? Let me ask you...how often have you gotten sick from the toilet? HONESTLY...

  • dunnowy123,

My mother died from from it.

    Any more questions?

Do your research then make statements.

    Play somewhere else.

    JS

  • Died from the toilet?

Who had AIDS and improper toilet sanitation causing your mother to die?

I agree it's a good idea, but kind of a stretch to say it's gonna have any significant impact. There's far worse germs in far more places. Auto-santizing door handles would be more effective.

  • Ahanix1988,

My mother did not die from AIDs. Respiratory complications. This product can only help if used. Any small help is good help.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • i think inventions are to make people's life easier and healthier and this invention is greate because it is for safety of human.

    5 from me.

  • Mustafa4u,

So many Thank You's for understanding.

    Stay well,

    JS

  • Are you serious? Dude, you dont get sick from flushing your toilet. You can NEVER kill all bacteria. If you did. You would destroy your immune system. And the first time some jackass dont wash his hands, we all die. We need bacteria, it helps keep our immune system strong. Anti-bacterial soap doesnt work like you think it does. 10 seconds after you wash your hands with it you are infected again. Stop dumbing our race down with stupid inventions that have no effect to anything but your wallet.

  • smokedawg420,

Thanks for the comments but smokedawg...you're way high baby. Next 420 please lighten up instead of light up.

    JS

  • nice try at not answering his question, but anyone with an IQ over 10 can see that he has a point.

  • seagrenr,

Thank you for your comment. YES he has a point but it's a common mistake of reasoning that I hear a lot. There are good and bad bacteria. Lysol, Clorox and myself are trying to keep you healthy by cutting down on the bad stuff. That's all.I did LOTS of research and happened to stumble on all this information. Please Don't shoot the messenger.

Research it yourself. Google "toilet spray" or even more shocking google "toilet flushing + SARS". I don't make this up.

    Much appreciation,

    JS

  • ur right about needing to keep our immune systems strong. but when u flush the toilet shit particles get thrown into the air do u really want that landing on ur toothbrush, ur towel, ur hair comb, etc. i like this invention

  • This mist where does it come from? I have never seen mist when I flushed. I have never heard of anyone getting sick because of a mist that comes from the toilet. It seems totally absurd and strange.

  • xilliah,

For information on Toilet "mist" visit the pureflush site or google it yourself.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • Well I did that before I posted that comment. Nothing on it. And I really don't care what they say at their website.. I can make websitse too. And they would look a -bit- nicer.

  • xilliah,

I went to the site and all the info IS there from well respected government agencies. Also,he requested you google the info. He can't control that. You ignored both suggestions just to hassle this guy. You even disrespected this inventor by ragging about his web site. Either you're a moron just trying to ruin someones brilliant idea or you're an idiot. Most of the ignorant comments here all have the same trend.Idiots don't feel good patting someone on the back for good work.

    IE

  • You know some people are afraid of downloading anything onto their PCs, because of virusses. Perhaps they should pull the plug.

  • i love this invention :D =less toilet cleaning ahaha my mom would love it where can u purchase this? lol if i get it for her for mother's day she'll be so happie :D

  • somaele,

Hopefully by year end there will be a model for sale. Ideally we were going to sell it via Sharper Image but they're going through bankruptcy.

    Stay tuned.

    Much appreciation,

    JS

  • check out brookstone. They are just like SI.

  • heard on the Radio that people should stop using Anti-Bacterial soap because bacteria is mutating and becoming stronger and strains are becoming tougher for your immune system to tackle.

If they get past bleach, obviously the human race is over.

  • meh... it eynt a problem... you've got to have some bacteria or you will not be immune and you'll end up ill all your life.

  • The Sleepy Village,

Thanks for the reply. Actually you're half right and half wrong. This product protects you from the bacteria/viruses that you DON'T become immune to.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • The Sleepy Village,

Thanks for the reply. Actually you're half right and half wrong. This product protects you from the bacteria/viruses that you DON'T become immune to.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • i dont get it! what does it do?? its a toilet seat? how does it stop bacteria....

  • tara777,

Go to the pureflush site. The mechanics are explained there. Simple.

    JS

  • i love that, i always flush with the seat down, but i have to scrub on the weekends cuz i know the germs escape from the side. its amazing how little ppl realise this problem. especially when they have kids or pets.

  • lixueryo,

A Big Thank You for understanding. Peace, love and health to you and yours.

    J Safuto

  • MrSJCooper,

Is anyone listening? this product has NOTHING to do with germs ON a toilet seat. It's what becomes airborne from contaminated feces.(google "toilet flushing + SARS")

MrSJCooper.. How could you in good conscience carelessly negate findings from the worlds TOP microbiologists published in the worlds TOP medical publications? R U a medical Dr? Well respected Dr's I know find your comments appalling. Next time you go to a public restroom flush the toilet and inhale. Not good, huh?

    JS

  • Mr Safuto

I'm well aware your product is aiming to eliminate the spray produced from the flush, irrespective of this, I would of assumed your aware the larger scale of contact any spray would produce, would be in contact with the toilet, as this is the origin of the flush?

Therefore the highest density of bacterial produce would still remain on the seat and around its basin.

I'm a doctor, why are you asking me to 'google SAR's'? Are you trying to be condescending?

  • As I've previously stated, I'm aware of Dr Gerba's findings. I can't fathom what point your trying to make with his findings? Please enlighten me??

It would appear you are trying to associate another's position in his field of work, to your own Mr Safuto?

No doctors find my comments appalling? I'm at work as I type this, I'm quite sure the number of medical staff I'm acquainted with, out-numbers yourself.

I would appreciate a more constructive argument, rather than a slanging match Mr Safuto.

  • Mrscooper,

Lets study the problem by analyzing the facts. Please go to the pureflush site and READ. It's all there. My apologies for repeating myself but why are you negating the findings in the NEJM of Barker, Jones and Gerba??? The point of the findings couldn't be clearer. The contaminated spray rises at head hieght and 15 feet from the toilet. Yes it's a problem and yes the pureflush germ filtering seat eliminates this problem. Isn't this constructive enough. What am I missing?

    Peace.js

  • Corrections continued...As far as sheer ignorance goes Mr. Safuto politely asked you to research "toilet flushing + sars" not the viral disease itself.

Second comment: The comma in the very first line is again false, none of lines 2, 3, 5 or 6 needs a question mark as they are not strictly questions when in text (in the form of not that of a play which represents speech)but merely statements, no sentence should ever have two question marks as does line 3...

  • (previously posted?)The common 'office desk' carries four times as much bacteria than the average toilet seat.

perhaps you under-rate the human immune system and its capabilitys!

We need to be exposed to a certain degree of bacteria to build up an immunity.

    sorry.

If someone is suffering from a weak immune system, steps to counter-act the precise area of infection would be necassary, however, changing a toilet seat would solve very little.

  • I heard about the desk thing.

All of these are worse than any toilet

    * The photocopier -- over 69 microbes per square inch.

    * Computer mice -- more than 1,676 microbes per square inch.

    * Keyboards -- as many as 3,295 microbes per square inch.

    * Telephones -- up to 25,127 microbes per square inch.

Toilet's carry only 49 microbes per square inch. Very LOW risk.

and yet, NONE of the above will kill you given usual exposure:)

Maybe we've made a point? no doubt it'll be deleted as you say? lol :)

  • :( I think maybe ure site will need adjusting.

It does appear as tho u have attempted to scare ure market into a purchase.

    Dr J. Cooper

  • Dr Cooper,

Thank you for your comments. You missed all the good stuff on my site. You claim there are only quotes...that's incorrect. Click on America's TOP microbiologist Dr Charles Gerba's NEJM Paper as well as the MANY that followed relating to toilet flushing. This product has NOTHING to do with germs ON a toilet seat. I've known that for years. IT'S WHAT IS EJECTED AFTER EVERY FLUSH. Please Go to the site again and verify these facts. I'm attempting to scare no one. I only wish to help. JS

  • Yes, I've read and am already aware of the research made by Dr Gerba.

This particular research you are referring to contains many variables & questionable conclusions. It is not as black and white as to suggest we begin to sanitize our toilets?

Regardless, these results don't have any bearing on the facts that we are already aware the average toilet produces.

:( I'm afraid very little harm is done to our immune system from exposure to toilet spray.

    Dr Jilly Cooper

  • Kofi1000,

Kofi I agree with you I might have been too hard on Chris . Maybe I should chill a bit. Not everyone is a research loony like myself. I don't make this stuff up. Agreeing with fatuesque is unfair though if it's a personal attack on me just to feel your proving a point. Direct your disbelief at the CDC, American Lung assoc and Dr Charles Gerba studies and findings.Attacking me personally doesn't help. Hope that wasn't too harsh.

    Much appreciation for the attention.

  • well said m8

immunity depends on people being exposed to an illness.

    like a vaccine

eliminate the petty bacteria and you are making any1 who buys the device more vulnerable

  • This is like putting a different tyre on a wheel and claiming you invented the wheel.

I think only a freak with ocd or howard hughes would find this toilet usefull.

  • fatuesque,

You are being personal and unfair. Please don't direct your anger at me. I've heard your "arguments" soooo many times before and you are INCORRECT. There are many people that this product will help. Don't be a hater. I don't have an easy job. I only ask for the consumer to be open minded and direct any questions and/or disbelief at the top institutions like the New England Journal of Medicine, CDC, American Lung Assoc, Dr Charles Gerba etc. Attacking doesn't help.Find the facts.

    JS

  • yes,it will help people with ocd i'm sure.I do not get "angry" over youtube videos about toilets.

Why dont you invent a machine that throws kleenex tissues in front of a person so they can step on the tissues and walk without the fear of touching the germy floor ?

God bless you for trying, but toilets are clean enough and your invention isnt needed.

  • This product is bad for humanity, humans develop immunity to bacteria when they are children as a direct result of encountering them in the home. This product will cause allergies or new illnesses to develop in humans.

    Thanks america.

  • dude that comment to chriswilljohns

    not cool

granted you probably know more than he does in this field but these are the questions people are going to be asking:

    do i actually need it?

    how effective is it?

so if you get emotional this one guy then you are going to have problems.

    chill

  • In all fairness this may be a good invention. But wouldn't this time and money be better spent on curing the more deadly diseases such as cancer and HIV?

  • brucey1354,

Yes money would be better spent on a cure for cancer and HIV. I wish I had an invention that cured or prevented both. Sadly I don't. I'm trying my best to help in other areas. Both of my parents died from cancer and some of my dearest friends from HIV/AIDS. Lets pray for a cure soon.

    Stay well.

    JS

  • This product is primarily for those with compromised immune systems. That's 1 out of 4 people in the USA. 75 million people.

This product has been developed based on facts and extensive research. For those who question it's potential and claims please google search Dr Charles Gerba's groundbreaking paper on toilet aerosols and germs spread by a toilet flush. Please go to the PUREFLUSH web site for real facts. No BS just plain talk.

Stay well and thank you for your interest.

  • is this ur invention?
