  • Lea and Paz's version is an excellent one indeed. Boo for those who don't agree. Shame that you don't know how talented these singers. Oh well, an ancient philosopher would say "the wise should ignore the ignorant".

  • Why is there a DISLIKE button ? soo sad .. :(

  • This is magnificent... We should not compare this Idina and Kristina... These ladies are extremely talented ;)

  • Hi Jen ! Its Samantha. (I was in Cinderella with you and the King and I) You have such a beautiful voice :D Hope I can work with you again in the future !

  • Salonga and Paz totally rocked this, though. And the ending's just SUPERB!

  • Jennifer Paz, Shes my aunt. =))

  • you guys are awesome,,,your voice is just like kristen c!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I also heard the Delta Goodrem/Leann Rhymes version. This is cleaner and closer to the original, the other had a lot of country music influence.

  • i nearly cried when i saw this in the show......but if that ending was in the actual song....id blubber like a very large, overgrown baby.....beautiful....no other way to describe it

  • OMG 52 people wasn't "For Good"

  • this song would've been enjoyable but all the trash talking happening in the comments makes it kind of annoying. Seriously, if Idina and Cheno did such a horrid job in Wicked and if their voices were as annoyingly squaky as those comments imply, it won't be as popular as it is, and this cover won't even be existent if the song itself isn't popular enough to get Jennifer Paz's attention.

    okay, my rant is over(:

    Great song, by the way.

  • @glalieguy Well, Idina and Kristin DO sound squeaky, but the producers obviously chose actresses that had annoyingly ugly, squeaky voices because they had to sound "witchy" for the musical. That was part of the charm. :-)

  • @negrotybash wow that is not very nice, I love Idina and Kristin! But this is not a video about them so... I love this cover! I cried during this and not many peaple can do that :')

  • OMG I cant stop listening to ms Lea's voice :')

  • For a pop album, this is SUPERB! Of course, being the great actors that they are, the approach would be totally different if they were singing this Broadway-style. Salonga could totally pull of the role - who would have thought she could do Fantine on Les Miz and end up being the greatest Fantine ever per the critics!

  • This more upbeat, pop version is BEAUTIFUL! Lea Salonga and Jennifer Paz's voices are way better than the original singers' screechy voices and they harmonize much better, too. Plus that Defying Gravity ending is just SUPERB!

  • Love it! Indeed way better than the Idina & Kristin's!

  • Duh! The quality of Jennifer Paz and Lea Salonga's voices are way superior to Queens of Squeaky Idina and Kristin's voices!

  • @annief31 Hey well it's Kristin Chenoweth's voice. It's just like that!

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION!!!!!! AND THE ENDING JUST WOW,

  • The little part from defying gravity at the end is just...wow :')

  • I start crying at the defying gravity part... beautiful.

  • awesome :) this was our graduation song 2 years ago :)

  • SUPERB!!! I LOVE YOU LEA SALONGA!!!

  • i like how its a little bit upbeat

  • The beat seems to be pushing the singers... ): lea salonga's voice is so beautiful. how unfortunate the music isn't allowing the vocals to take their time to soar.

  • Vocally MUCH BETTER than the original, considering they haven't even played the roles on stage! I love Idina Menzel, but she's the Queen of Squeak Voices and she sounds like Alvin from ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS. Good job, Lea and Jen!

  • amazing voices but this beat is too overpowering...wow they are true musicians

  • Wonderful!

  • oooh i love this version

  • who is Jennifer Paz Sarion?????

  • Comment removed

  • they're both Filipina right.

    jen's voice is cold

lea's voice is warmer, and more ermmm.. experienced?..

Both of them are great!!! They have unique voices.

  • Oh my, Princess Jasmine! LOVE Miss Salonga!

Not sure if i'm feelin the progressive beat change... but ok~

  • They Are Both Beautiful And Very Talented Ladies And Both Have Gorgeous Voices And I Admire Them So Much'!x<3

This Song Is So Beautiful And They Both Do It Justice'!x<3

  • ...i love your voice lea :-)))

  • OMG!!!!!! Jen this is Silas, i did miss saigon with Dane up in Northern Cali. This recording is amazing. i still gotta get a copy of your cd, whats the web address.

  • very sweet

  • love Lea Salonga's voice

    proud to be a filipino

  • el final es precioso....la piel de gallina!

  • Such a gentle Elphaba. Lea can do almost any female role! So good. :D

  • very very good ladies

  • @thecherrimtree12 well this is their own version. I mean theyre both great artist they dont have to completely copy the one in wicked, that is if they didnt sing this in the broadway already

  • yeah auntie jen was in miss saigon aafter lea salonga

she was in evita and beauty and the beast too

  • i think Jennifer Paz is one of the ladies who played Kim in a Miss Saigon production ( LA ?) like Lea who was the original Kim

  • i Sang this in my mothers funeral...cried so much ...

  • @guitarmotherfucker I am soo sorry, but remember that elphie is still alive in Glinda's heart and vice versa, that is how it is with ur mother. Ur in her heart as she is in urs :)

    Best wishes

  • @guitarmotherfucker I almost cried just reading your comment :( I got tears in my eyes

  • @guitarmotherfucker i think i might cry actually, reading that and listening to this :( x

  • I've never heard of Jennifer Paz, but I'm a huge fan of Lea Salonga. Very nice version of this song.

  • I was sitting here thinking about how Lea is a good singer. And then my thoughts went to the fact that Lea was also the name of Princess Leia, but just with a different spelling. Then I thought, wouldn't it be cool if they made the Star Wars saga a musical? Lea could be the voice of Leia.

  • @motownazn haha that would be interesting. A Star Wars musical ... I like it.

  • Lea should really be Elphaba in Wicked!! She might even be better than Idina (or maybe I'm just bias for Pinoy, haha!!). But probably the reason why she can't be Elphie is that she's too old and also she's probably busy with other things. I remember seeing her in Miss Saigon in New York back in the good old days. xD

  • @distortionxoverdrive the Elphaba songs would be too high for Lea, she's an alto and the requirement for Elphaba should be a mezzo

  • who is jennifer paz?

  • whats with the drum beat during lea's part?? totally distracting.

  • wow.. i think i prefer this version to the original version.. hehe.. it's just less depressing.. =D

  • You guys are amazing, great job, Broadway is calling, get to those auditions

  • wicked sweet :-bd

  • I've never heard of this musical "Wicked", but I can tell with just this song it's most likely a very beautiful story.

  • @motownazn You've never heard of Wicked?

  • @lovincake well since i've first seen this video i've done my research, fell in love with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, and have been aching to see them onstage together even though I know that that's virtually not possible today.

  • I (L) Lea.

  • wasnt lea jasmine in aladdin?

  • @TaylorJonasLover she was jasmine's singing voice i think, and mulan's. in addition shes famous for her roles in Les miserable and miss saigon.

  • @TaylorJonasLover

    yes she is

  • @TaylorJonasLover yea she was the singing voice for jasmine...she was also the singing voice for mulan both movies

  • Beautiful, ladies! Beautiful ladies :)

  • omg!! thanks for sharing!!! this is an amazing version xD i love wicked!

  • the defying gravity at the end! = AWESOMENES!! <3

  • What a beautiful version of this song. I think I actually prefer it to the original, blasphemous as that may be lol. Lea Salonga has the voice of an angel.

  • this is so beautiful.

  • LEA!

  • That pic of Jennifer kinda makes her look like an Asian Kristen Chenoweth. I think it might be the shape of her head.

  • great version!

but it I like it better when its slower

but the little bit of defying gravity is awesome!^^

  • saw jennifer and totally enjoyed her when she did kim at the ahmanson theater lax. very talented actress and singer!

  • Lea <3

  • i loved so much it i sone of the best songs ever

  • i liked it until it had the beats in the background ._.

that just ruined it for me...it's supposed to be slow and calm :l

  • the end had me in tears! beautifully sung! not rele wickedish-they put their own twist on it-rele nice

  • I'm a massive Lea Salonga fan and didn't realise she had done this song. shes amazing!i did it in a concert recently and if any one watching this version has time it would be great if you could check out my version. I'm just starting out properly and so any support woould be appreciated thanks x

  • I love it. When you have to go away fram your friends that is the best song to sing

  • my john... I've heard it said That people come into our lives for a reason Bringing something we must learn And we are led To those who help us most to grow If we let them And we help them in return Well, I don't know if I believe that's true But I know I'm who I am today Because I knew you abby....
  • I still love you, Abigail.

    -John

  • doesnt sound much different at all :O very good...

  • whoa! she sounds a bit like Kristin Chenoweth! this is a great cover!

  • shes not lying shes telling the truth that is her auntie hahaha we should break out with the embarassing baby pics of auntie jen u and me huh

  • jennifer paz is my mom's sister.

    she's my aunt, no lie.

  • I'm guessing these were the people who were in Wicked in the philippines?

  • erm, i don't think we ever had a production of Wicked yet.

  • @iSNEEZES really? There's a Philippine production of Wicked? I've been waiting ages for that. No Fair!!!

  • I'm not sure! I know there's been Wicked productions in other countries, like Japan, so why not in the Philippines? Go google it to find out. lol

  • who's Jennifer paz???

  • OMG! This was a brilliant version. A little fast for my liking, but the ending was beautiful. I cried. Very well done ladies

  • This is beautiful. Great song and beautiful singing from both ladies. Thanks for the video.

  • the end is really nice~!

    i love thier voices!!!

  • they are both wondeful

but i can hardly imagine jennifer as the Glinda

    sorry

but especially the end is amazing.

  • I still love you, Abigail.

    -John

  • i love this rendition!

if they make wicked into a movie, they need to use this ending.

  • I really love the end of this song <3

  • Lea, my idol. :))

  • I think the tempo was a little fast for my liking, but overall, this is a beautiful blend of two lovely voices.

  • I just saw the show in london, I think this was my favourite song

  • Woah. The ending gave me goosebumps.

    Gorgeous piece.

  • unique arrangement.. love it! great surprise at the end...it works! beautiful voices

  • nice voices, lousy arrangement. it doesnt capture the intensiity of emotion within the context by which this song was sung.

  • totally agree with you... i love lea but this is definitely <<<<<^inf Cheno+Idina

  • that was utterly beautiful

  • i love how you sing it. it doesn't sound cheesy American and how you sing it brings a great atmosphere

  • beautiful. everything said in one word.

  • Very impressive girls!!! And I agree with those who said the Defying Gravity bit at the end should have been in the show.. this is one unique recording :)

  • This is one song I actually like how they change it like that...I can't stand that God

Awful solo version of Defying Gravity where they put the lyrics to the Wizard And I

in the middle of it, simply because in Defying Gravity, Elphaba is beyond the point

of wondering if her future is unlimited, it takes away from the mood of bringing

    down the wizard.

  • i love lea

  • One of The Best For Goods Ever :)

  • i sing this in my chours i go 2 flanagan

  • i love lea salonga!

  • this was gorgeous, I love the defying gravity nod at the end perfect!

  • omg, i love how she goes back to defying gravity....-tear- lovin this version!

  • I love Lea Salonga!!!! but I think Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel do "For Good" justice.

But this is def. a great rendition.

  • i would love to see lea as elphaba!!!!

  • Ahhh that was so good!!

  • beautiful

  • They sound so beautiful!!!

  • love this version!

  • at 2:25 that looks alot like Lea Salonga

  • the picture?

  • aww this song reminds me of a very special person who came into my life this year i looove her so much ! i hope she knows who she is !

  • Idina and Kristen will always top but that was gorgeous! I love both their voices. I love Lea Salonga aka Jasmine lol

  • absolutely awesome.

  • I seem to be developing a big girlcrush on Lea. She can come round for tea any time she likes ;-)

  • Who is Jennifer Paz ? She has a great voice.

  • i love their rendition of the song!

  • Jennifer and Lea are really friends.

  • This is an awsome, my 2 best mates sang this is the school eisteddfod and it was better that this tbh

  • Lovely rendtion though perhaps a little too fast. The Defying Gravity addition to the end fitted very well (it should have been included in the original). Is it available to download?

  • i like it i love it jen should be elphaba

  • omg we had to sing this in choir and it makes me cry everytime!

  • WOW You guys were amazing, I love Lea so much....I am now a fan of Jennifer paz too, I have never heard of her until now.

  • I love the end ♥

  • i love the end too. I like how they snuck a bit of defying gravity in there.

  • What a maginificent find, thank you.

  • I don't like how they've almost turned this song into a pop piece... it is too beautiful to rush through like this...

  • Awesome!!! Lea has always been my favorite! GO FILIPINAS!!! World-class talent ever!

  • wow. when lea came in, i was like...the clarity comparison is no competition. i mean don't get me wrong, they are both wonderful singers, but lea surpasses jennifer paz.

  • I love love Lea

Everybody in my family loves Lea. Her song were played in my house since I was little(=^_^=)

  • i wish wicked could come to the philippines.
