  • Mike...I just sent you a facebook request...that's me....

  • There were 6 drumlines when i was there 1997-2000. I don't know if it got smaller when they switched locations or what. Then again, Ferrum was out there in the middle of nowhere.

  • I'm the girl in red doing the Charlie's Angel's salute (I didn't know I was filmed)! Coming back as a veteran on Monday!

  • Nothing like the days of 1985-1988. There were six different snare lines- beginner a and b, intermed a and b, and advanced a and b. Kim Summers was in charge of percussion along with Neville Curtis and Tim (last name?). I miss those days!!

  • @MrStclairm Those were the days. I was there for the summers of 88-90, And marched Snare on the top line my last 2 years. You're thinking of Tim Paul and David Starnes. Summer of 88 they wrote the coolest cadence ever called "Streetbeat", I still remember it note for note. Yeah, it's sad that it dropped off in intensity from the late 80's. Neville was awesome...

  • @JavocadoDrums wow man! Talk about a small world. I wish I still played, much less play with the intensity I had back then. I graduated from Franklin County high in 1989. I came back and visited with my "underclassman" buddies in the drumline in 89 or 90. Mark Lynch (snare) and Reggie Ferguson (bass). Still have my certs and trophies from MABFC. Still remember my 88-89 high school cadence.

  • @MrStclairm NO WAY. I went to Fauquier High. Us and Franklin had a Great friendly rivalry going back them. I remember you guys had Melissa on tenors and that girl could smoke! I went on to march at JMU. Mark Lynch and I are great friends and it started at Ferrum. I remember Reggie too. Ben Pruntee was a college friend of mine, and I'm still friend with Chris Wilkes whom I know you know. I have very fond memories of Ferrum Drum Camp. I'm sad that it doesn't seem to be the same.

  • @JavocadoDrums Wow. You guys had a hard to pronounce school name for sure! I graduated in 89, so I'm not sure if I met you or not. Mark marched at JMU as well. I definitely knew Ben, Chris, and of course Melissa. Talk about a small world!! Tell Mark you chatted with me and he'll tell you stories......Mike St.Clair

  • ehh there were 2 drumlines... i was in the better of the 2 and we were ok... but yea the other one has pulse issues... lol

  • GOD HELP THEIR DRUMLINE
