  • wow!!!! so good

  • Won't get tired of watching this exotic video, all her choreographed numbers are perfect to the last detail LOL!!!

  • Big Paula Fan - but not delusional. Head Over Heels album only went Gold (500,000) in USA. In 1995 standards, this was NOT good at all. She was dropped from Virgin/EMI. The fans that are stating that she sold 3 million....she sold under 3 million worldwide. She had come off of her Spellbound success (3 million in US and 8.5 million worldwide) to fail at this. Love the album. Would have loved to see her tour one more time.

  • I think she's quite a talent herself, not a mediocre kind; I'll put her alongside Janet Jackson & Madonna; a total performer!!!

  • This reminds me of an episode of Xena.

  • I love this song & video but I think it's a shame that Ofra Haza wasn't a part of it. She was an amazing Israeli singer...whose vocals are in this song & it definitley blends well with Paula's voice! U all should check her music out on here! (She does have some English songs as well!)

  • Janet and TLC lol and Madonna she sound like lol.

  • Never under-estimate Paula Abdul.

  • this video is super HOTT

  • this is one of my favorite videos of hersss :))) i love paula. iddkkk what the world would do without her.

  • pala is so talented she should go back to making records

  • who gives a damn what culture it came from? the insanely awesome choreography came from paula, that's all that matters

  • Why couldn't I have given Paula babies? WHY? She is absolutely perfect looking! And the way she moves...

  • I love this song

  • I LOVE THAT WOMAN.....

  • This was her last big hit, #28 on Hot 100...

And I think that they threw in some South Asian influences (ie her belly dancing outfit, and some of the dancers are ethnically South Asian)...but predominatly it looks like its supposed to be middle eastern.

  • its weird but i like it lol

  • This video was shot in the desert sands of Morocco.

  • lol, guess i got 7 thumbs down 4 my comment! oh well

  • This song was huge at that time, really ring all those memories back.

  • Far and away, her best song and video!

  • wow

THUG STYLE

  • she looks freekin amazing she can rrly pull of te egyption look! she always looks amazing

  • she does look amazing.. but this is Indian style :D

then again.. the song is confusing.. it has both Egyptian and Indian! LOOOL!

anyways.. she's beautiful and the song is amazing :D

  • I agree. It is very indian. She looks indian actually - one of those drop dead gorgeous north indians. (=

  • nah not indian, its arab. paula´s dad is from syria (thats a republic in arab), so i think the arab style in that video matches great with her.

  • True. But there is very little difference between arab and indian dancing/clothing. even the language comes from the same origin.

  • Huge differences, in fact: North Indian languages are Indo-European while Arabic is a semetic language--different family trees. Some elements of the music are similar, but totally different traditions and origins. Dance traditions are completely different as are the dress. Indian muslims may dress similarly, but that's because of religion.

  • I don't think I want to get into a lecture. As far as I know, I have north indian blood and have been around many Arabians. Though there are many stark differences, as you pointed out, there are also many similarities for the fact they are two different cultures.

  • Wonderful! You've got north indian blood! Paula e bella! La vita e bella!

  • Regardless....Beautiful garments, beautiful cultures.... but They're all brainwashed as hell. Colonization has conquered the world. The issues between north and south Indians are a sad testament. Not to mention to perceptions of beauty. The beauty of North India is favored because they look more European. That notion only empowers their oppressors. Wake up people.

  • all of u r wrong... this is egyptian!!!

  • actually Paula (who is a Syrian Jew) made this song with Ofra Haza (a Yemeni Israeli)...similar, but not quite.

  • fav song on that album

    so mysterious

  • wait....who the hell are you?! Simon?!

Paula? a bit worse? it doesnt match!

Once again another british wants to ruin Paula's career.

  • your mums meaty !!

  • what is kenna reves doin in this vid....

  • the low notes that she can hit.

    absolutely beautiful.

not many women can pull of those notes.

    stunning.

amazing vocal range. one can only hope that

    they can have that range.

  • The high and low notes feature Ofra Haza's voice. (Israeli singer) However I agree that this is a great song. She is a good singer. But in this song, her voice is "melted" into that of Haza to create depth ya know :-)

  • shut up u fat bastard

  • LOL. Good one.

  • HA HA HA HA ! SMASHED IT !!!

  • fabulous! still great today

  • I love this song/video but it's not the entire video...the ending is my favorite and the original one is up on youtube as well, check out the other one...

  • i love this video!!!!!!!!!! PAULA ROX!

  • whoa there...touching!

  • lol...yeah there is alot of contact. I think everybody touched Paula. Stop the video at 3:40...that guy has his hands all over Paula's chest

  • ooooooooooooh.lol

  • i love this song but at first it doesent sound like paula

  • its not

  • um wow that was omg

  • She moves like shes possessed by the moment, and with the excellent cinemaphatograhy, christ, its a great clip, truly a work of art! Just every so often, one experiences, something special, thankyou :)

  • I think this was her best music video other than cold hearted snak. the dance moves in this are completely tight. I love how the dance moves are representing the video background and music.. I think this cd sold bad because it was ahead of its time. This song could be played on radio today.

  • I am a huge Paula fan, but can't agree with you Augustrain82. This album seemed to have gone all over the place, with no clear focus or direciton. Plus, no song with this odd of an intro is radio-friendly.

  • yay certain songs she sings great!other songs not so much.

  • this is such a gr8 vid and song i hope she makes a come back and soon shes amazing

  • A very ambitious project. Lots of money was put into this video to promote the Head over Heels album. I just don't know why the album was so bad. Of course it flopped, but they should have seen it coming. Anyway, thanks again, antcar1375. At least this song is great, and it's a great video.

  • why do people say it flopped, it sold 3 million copies, that is by far a flop

  • antcar1375, sorry for the delay. I thought that even Paula was frustrated with the results and stopped making albums. Do you know how many copies Spellbound sold (the previous album, for those who don't know). That was a great album. Thanks...

  • I agree with antcar1375, the album didn't flop. You are incorrect.

  • checkondc, well, I respect your opinion, but of those 3 million sold copies, mine is one of them, and like me, there are many upset people who feel they wasted their money. I liked Crazy Cool and maybe two other songs. The rest I could not stand. I liked all the Spellbound songs.

  • Objectively, 3 million in sales is not a commercial flop. Many artist are happy to achieve gold, 500,000 copies in sales. Triple platinum is respectable sales.

  • She doesn't sing very well, though that never stopped janet (and we know who her choreographer was). Cool video and obviously she can dance, but I never liked paula either since she couldn't sing either, but more her sound was so damn poppy. Her best dance tracks were knocked out, way that you loved me and vibeology (the latter had a particularly wikkid remix done to it, but nothing else really came close). She's better as a choreographer/dancer/producer/etc.

  • And lemme be clear, I only like a few of janet's songs either, mainly pleasure principle, and remixes of if, rhythm nation, alright and throb.

  • Different strokes for different folks, I guess. This song and video is a remarkable achievement; I think it's Paula's best. I genuinely like Paula's voice because she sounds exotic. I think her voice makes this song. Also, I can't imagine anyone but Paula singing "Rush Rush", another favorite. And I'm a huge Janet fan as well. She gave us "When I Think of You", among my top 2 all-time favorites. And I like Janet's voice as well. She sounds wonderful on "That's the Way Love Goes" and "If".

  • @crusader92 The reason this album did not fair as well as previous albums was due to its date of release. American radio had a major format change. Radio started to play grunge and rock more than pop and dance. The 90's really changed musically for a short time. All pop music faded off the airwaves.

  • @capegguy2006 I agree with part of your comment. The 90s did see a drastic change for a while, severely hurting many pop music artists, as you said, but although I didn't buy Paula's first album, I was delighted with Spellbound, and then I was very disappointed with the overall quality of Head over Heels. Of course that's just my opinion, but I think (not sure) that critics at the time said that Head over Heels wasn't as good as her previous work. Thanks for your reply.

  • cool

  • HOT video!!
