I would suggest that anyone watching this should research deeper than Brad Warner's writing if they want to find out about Zen Buddhism. It is false advertising that this gentleman should call himself a " Zen master" since he hasn't done any study with an acknowledged master, or been given any lineage of study. I'm a Zen monk, and also exactly Brad's age, a product of the same middle class North American culture, and share many of his life experiences. Brad's book "Hardcore Zen" is one of the best Zen books I've read. You'll notice that he's uncomfortable with the "master" label.

All religions have wisdom it's how it is presented that matters.

I was read all the christian stories as a kid (Noah's arch , adam+ eve , all the other ones) but they weren't presented to me as MORE than stories no more true or real than peter pan or Archie comics.

Buddhism is presented very differently here in the west than it is in the east do some research.
