  • My father is Jeff west lol he played for clemson during this time n this is all he ever talks about

  • This is one of my greatest football memories EVER! I was AT that game, and it was SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME! I'll never forget the Moore-to-Moore (Sean to Herman) Connection!! We went on to become the #1 Team in the country (for 3 weeks - until GT ruined it by injuring Sean Moore) not long after that. THAT was some exciting fb. And George Welsh was the only guy to ever bring that kind of fb to UVa!

  • Hey, rare non-alum fan here.

I pull for UVA cause theyre an underdog. People think that brainy schools can't play football. This should prove em wrong.

We can get back to Welsh days. Is Mike London the guy? I sure hope so, it's also cool that Shawn Moore is back.

My dad went to the Naval Academy and remembers seeing Welsh on campus.

Could we even win the National Champioinship.....well it aint impossible but I'll be happy making the Orange Bowl AND ACTUALLY WINNING IT.

  • hmm, orange jerseys at UVA? weird hah

  • Had Chris Mullin had the benefit of the three-point line, he would have set a Big East scoring record which never would have been broken. He ranks right up there with Larry Bird and Pistol Pete as one of the best pure shooter ever.

  • Yes! John Calipari is a good coach. And Norm was very good as an assistant at Kansas. IMHO, he is in over his head try to rebuild a proud program.

  • IMHO, if SJU struggles next season, Roberts will be gone. There is no doubt!

  • Also, I know that it is too late now, but had Paul Johnson not gone to Georgia Tech, I think he would have been an awesome fit at UVA. By the way, St. John's needs a new hoops coach. Wouldn't it be awesome if they could lure Rick Pitino back to to city where he grew up? Rick Pitino is a king at reviving programs, and how sweet would it be for Rick to revive St. John's and then retire in his hometown?

  • Who would you like to see as the new coach at UVA?

  • That is true! Well, Groh IS 64 years old now, so I can't see him being around too many more years. And, Welsh did a great job, but you have to remember that Virginia blew a lot of huge leads with Welsh-ie.-Georgia Tech in 1990, Clemson in 1992, and Georgia in a bowl game in 1998.

  • Really? How come?

  • Thanks for the great memories. This was my first game to attend at UVA. It was definitely a game to remember!

  • Bless Coach Welsh, who with limitations that other schools do not have, was somehow able to make Virginia into a strong football program. It was a near miracle really, to do what he did.

  • From what it sounds like, there is a good chance that both Clemson and UVA will be looking for new head coaches soon. If you go to the coacheshotseat website and click on "Coaches Ready To Move Up"(I think that is what it says), it will give you a list of 19 coaches who are doing a great job that may be ready to take the next step. Are their any coaches on that list you would like to see at Clemson or UVA?

  • Great video! You have to give George Welsh a lot of credit for building UVA into a contender and giving the program swagger. I miss those days. Al Groh isn't doing so well. I have a suggestion for UVA fans. Go to the coacheshotseat website, click on the "Coaches Ready To Move Up", and it will give you a list of all the coaches who appear to be ready to head to a big-time program. Let me know if there are any you would like to see at UVA!

  • These are the years that UVA had respect

  • moore to moore baby!

  • amazing team! i remember when virginia was really good, and the whole country was scared of them. im a colorado fan, and that year and i remember being so scared of virginia that year, and years that followed. what happened to virginia, just bad coaching? didnt tiki go there too?

  • Great video...thanks for posting!

  • sweet sassy molassy

  • Gotta love Shawn Moore's haircut...high and tight

  • awsome what great memories!
