  • who directed this video?

  • Chemical brother's version = a calm/chill track

    Shinichi Osawa's version = a faster version they could play in a club/dancing ;)

    I like both of them!

Depends on what mood I'm in :)

  • I love the song to death, but i will never take what they take.

  • i feel sorry for everyone and anyone who thinks this is the original for not being there when the chem's droped this back in the day

  • Which version was used in the opening credits of Araki's Smiley Face?

I rather like this one, way more punchier than the Chemicals!

  • I remember this song was in the Nokia PC Suite CD when the 5310 came out in Mexico.

  • Didn't the Chemical Brothers do a cover of this? =D

  • @n20sqrl chemical brothers did the original

  • This is so ABBA.

  • lets the fireballs be!!!!

  • which one is the original?

  • @berNdjeeuH

    The Chemical Brothers version

  • much better than the original

  • combos

  • I don't know this version sounds so much more slicker than the original. Serious props to osawa

  • i actually like this more than the original

  • Shinichi forever !

  • The Japenese Popstars re-remixed this and I like it. Their version might be better than the Chemical Brothers' one.

  • I love the song, but the music video sucks ass. The girls are so annoying.

  • gosh i love this freaking sound!

  • A - wesome

  • All credits to Chemical Brothers! Nothing more to say

  • Heard this mixed by Dr. Lektroluv . . . I almost cried of joy damnit!

  • This video is just mesmerizing... I saw a cover of this tune by the CvrBrthrs...pretty fcked up sh!t if I might say so myself...

  • Cracking tune total quality production

  • great tune

  • LSD. lol

  • @frdrcksncn ecstasy

  • ah bla bla bla me me me. In a sea of letters......

  • this song deserves a higher quality video :P

  • the girl with glasses <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • Love the woman in the glasses, what a feel-good tune! Best example of peer pressure I've ever seen. xD

  • @TheZashh Peer pressure, haha, good one. :D

  • AWESOME. just needs more kirsten dunst

  • instant peak whenever i roll.

  • SICK! its dope no?

  • Chemical Brothers version for listening at home.. Shinichi for a night out. Done. Perfect for me.

  • @theelman Ditto.

  • loved it. songs message was ope. i agree with it. the video was unbelievably amazing. standing ovation.

  • wtf i had an eargasm first time i hear this song

  • Amazing cover, amazig vid.

  • Didn't this guy do the song "shinin" as well? Also known as that awesome song on lumines :)

  • I love how the DJ straight up took the guitar samples and bitcrushed them into everliving fuck.

  • i have a set by dr.lektroluv with this track at the end , been lookin for it for some time now !!!!!!! happy out sunday session song !!!!!

  • What a cover...very cool vocals of au revoir simone!

  • this is music that should be shared and listened to around the world

  • a-m-a-z-i-n-g

  • Love it.

  • i felt bad stealing this album but i'm to broke to buy it

  • i already did LMAO

  • Dr. lektroluv mixed it.

    we love belgium!

  • THE ONE!

  • que cancion tan putamente buenaaaaaaa

  • Simply amazing (^_^) d[-_-]b

  • I like how at the end the still frames of the girl squatting show alternating head directions. Pretty cool song overall. More energetic than the original

  • mmm... its not so bad but i prefer the original song, i mean the chemical brothers are the chemical brothers, anaway i liked this vers. and i havent listened the full album its hard to get sometimes this kind of music on mexico even on itunes.

  • @beingdave3000 Newsflash: the original is a sample..

  • beautiful tribute to the brothers. i am fighting tears.

  • i luv this version

  • I hadn't heard Star Guitar in many years - that was until a friend of mine shared this remix with me. This song is fantastic for all the right reasons, and is as equally awesome as the original.

Nothing will replace the original, but there isn't a better remix out there.

  • @Mankicore i agree 100%. I was pissed off when i heard from a friend that osawa was about to remix it, because i don't like remixes of classic songs. But after a listen to it, i totally changed my point of view and now consider this as a master work, osawa did a great job as the CBros did.

  • @Mankicore pretty sure this is actually the original and the chemical brothers remixes this

  • This remix is good because it seems like this is what the song is supposed to sound like

  • i like both, but star guitar was just such a visual and auditory experience back then and for that reason nothing beats it.

  • would have been good for lumines

  • The original is a great song but this canes it's behind. Another great Shinichi remix is his version of Turbo Love by Bag Raiders - but buy the iTunes versions as you need good quality for this kind of music.

  • maybe not as good as the original but it's still a great cover and a very good idea piece of work.

  • i accidentally pressed one star but truly it is a 5

    sorry about that lol

    love this tune!!!

  • lmfaoo

  • love au revoir simone 100%

  • theyre amazing

  • first heard this song on WRC the game ... loved it so much ... the main reason i played it i think .... one word.. TUUUNE

  • isnt it wrc two? or one, i forgot, but yeah i was already thinkin, he that sounds familiar, it is a great song though

  • its on WRC2 (ps2).

"Monday" to be released by Steve angello on the 16th uses samples from the original Star Guitar (by the chemical brothers back in 2002)

i cant wait for monday to come out check it out when it does.. ul recognise the samples

  • You people who liked this song and don't know Shinichi very well (somewhat like me), take a look at "Maximum Joy", it's very simillar to this one, but a bit faster.

Great song for fast drive, shinichi knows what he does :D

  • Dr. Lektroluv just opened up my mind to this one. Simply awesome!! Listen or buy Dr. Lektroluv - Live Recorded @ Pukkelpop 2008 if you want to hear this in one bangin'. Mind blowing mix!!

  • Wasn't there,but I've heard it on the album!

    Awesome!Ö

  • i like the remix -- but the michel gondry video for the original is a masterpiece. its kind of weird they took the repitition from the gondry video.

  • Yeah they shouldn't have even tried.. haha really weak video in comparison.

  • michel gondry is in a class of his own. he has a few misses mostly because he doens't do dark and moody well. but i take any opportunity to praise him. hopefully event this mention will get people to see the original. its understated genius.

  • cool song-prefect for backround music

  • aaaaahhhhhhh yes!!! was listening to the d and b remix, listening to chemical brothers version but this one is the one that kicks ass!!!!! love it

  • I love this version... it's perfect for a fast drive.

  • feel what i feel! feel the rythm...

  • It's a decent cover, but it sounds a bit porn-like. It's not as great a production as the original, and more clubbased.

That said, I'd rather listen to this version at a party, but I'd rather listen to the original when I sit alone with my own thoughts.

  • Looks like a bunch of urban outfitters models that are high..

  • I like it... BUT IT WILL NEVER BEAT THE ORIGINAL!!!!!

The original is simpily the best song ever.

    Actualy 2nd.

  • prefer this to the original to be honest.

  • I thought this was the original...

  • i heard this version first, and i need to say i love it way more than the chem version. awsome cover

  • It's brutal to say it, but i like it more, than the original version. This song has more dynamic, it's fucking good. Perfect for a cardrive.

  • this is still cool

  • nice remix

  • it's a cover, not a remix

=the original recording is not used

  • this cover deserved some credit man..

  • of course it will never be as good as The Chemical Brother's verison. but this verison is REALLY great! Shinichi is a definetly good musician to try on a Chem. Bros. song.

  • good track, just as good as the original!

  • yhea song

  • this rocks!

  • I dunno what people are talking about, this is a wicked cover. Only thing lacking is the video, it does NOT compare to the original gondry-directed video!

  • puda puda puda 8

  • i love this version...its so cute and cool!! ...and most of all i LOVE SHINICHII OSAWA!!!! he's so sexy!!!!

  • first of all it's not "they" its "he"

second - artists like to cover songs to make it their own in a way, usually a remix would suffice but not with this song, anyone knows that a remix of star guitar would not turn out so well,

  • chemical brothers.. ;)

  • it's good but it's no match for The Chemical Brothers version

  • this is strangely reminiscent of a strokes song...melodically it reminds me of "hard to live in the city" by albert hammond jr. maybe it's just me?

  • this reminds me of 90's music video's o_0 and also Queen's - Bohemian Rhapsody... it would be cool if someone edited this song over the Michel Gondry video of Star Guitar

  • This video is effing trippy!!

  • Seriously. "You should feel what I feel, you should take what I take". Anyone who's done drugs knows this feeling.

  • yeah frills, it always nice to have someone else experiencing your pleasure too heheh

  • :DDDDDDD

  • as someone who was "there" when shit was going down at "partys" ....I can say the original got more or a pop then this version ever could. otherwise, this version is f'n bangin......and more than worthy of accolades.*ninja vanish

  • Hate to say it, but thats true!

  • Just when I thought it wasn't really possible to cover a Chemical Brothers track like this, as interesting as that sounds.

  • Much better than original.

  • best song ever for a come down !!

  • -.- yeah i rly belive you

  • i think he's serious

  • cool cover of a Great Chem Jam

  • i like this version alot better than the chemical brothers version. its got more oomph

  • This sounds nothing like anything Justice would do.

  • watch the DANCE video and thats what im referring to

  • I don't really see how this is like the DANCE video at all.

  • I kind of see where you are coming from. but i think this is quite a bit different.

  • This is making me horny!

  • dude, this shit is so awesome

especially when you are high HAHA

  • ILOVEIT!!!! From Brazil!

  • Freaky song!!!

Played by Lektroluv and it's ooh so fcking niice :D

  • fckn awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

  • I freaking love both versions of this song. It always makes me want to dance.

  • I like the video, it's pretty stylish

  • this is pretty dope

  • Absolutely cracking choon

  • nice track

    From san jose CA

  • whoa the original is just as good as the chemical brothers cover

  • the chemical brothers already made a cover??

exactly how old is this song? i thought it was new...

  • maybe these guys covered chemical brothers. i dont know who wrote the original. all i know is they are both good songs but the chemical version has a better video clip

  • It's a cover of the Chemical Brothers track of the same name LOL read more info

  • wow... didn't even think of that!

  • The song is original from Chemical Brothers, using samples of "Starman" from David Bowie.

  • I don't hear any bowie.

  • It's not about his voice, but the riffs of his song. Listen carefully about 0:30

  • PEEEESH NOR PASH!!!!!

  • Love it! :)

  • Refreshing sounds.

    Nice track.

    Shot out from Hamburg-City, Germany.

  • Awesome to see Shinichi getting some love outside of Japan, finally. Good work SFR!
