The Forums always hype guys a little too high sometimes. Im the biggest M's fan you will find . But Wade Boggs will never hit .267 in AAA baseball with a 20BB and 38so in any 52 game stretch . John Olerud i think didnt go to the minors. Patient hitters yes , but better hitters. I guess i would feel better if his average was better than .270 . If his strong suit is going to be hitting.
@rolomadon I guess Freddie Freeman for the Braves is a fail because he was struggling at first...That was sarcasm if you couldn't tell Ackley struggled one month in Triple A then hit the crap out of the ball.
@xsacred24x Your right Hes better than what weve got he domolished AAA PCL ranking 38th in batting avg 25th in ops but 12th in ob% , i change my mind hes going to have a higher avg than Dave Magadans career avg of 288 and 390 ob% hes the next dimaggio , hows 340 with 120 walks like Wade Boggs sound. That means he has to get hotter than his current 298 hot streak .
I like Dustin Ackley a lot but i hope Ms Fan to expect a middle of the order savior . Think more Chone figgins, Dave magadan , with a little more pop . He needs to work on getting stronger because will kill hitters that dont turn there hips. Before he hits .400 hes got to get over .280 first. I hope Seattle fans dont turn on him when hes not what they expected. He seems to have a strong work ethic and ill be pulling for him.
@rolomadon i think majority in seattle believes he will be a john olerud type hitter with less power. if you look in forums in seattletimes, they peg him as a number 2 hitter. hopefully he'll be like wade boggs
