Actually with stock gearing, he needs to be in 2nd not third. Vtec in 2nd with stock gearing is 54mph. I never use 1st, it's way too low on this bike. Must of been 1st trackday, hence novice. A little slow in the bends but damn good riding.
Nice video, but you'd do much better if you kept the Vtec activated. I noticed on your tight corner you were doing about 35mph. You should be in first gear and punching it coming out. You let your bike rev down too much. Use the gearing more and your brakes less.
Seems like the VTEC doesn't really affect cornering unless you have the throttle open a lot. Excellent vid! I oughtta get my 02 VFR to a track day sometime.

Great video. Wish I would have seen it before I went to Kershaw this past weekend. I averaged 2:02 with a best of 1:59 on my VFR.
