I DON'T know how old she is. I only know how long I have had her. I have had Sheba for 19 yrs.

Her tank is 90-gallon. She is 9 inches long. That is the recommended tank for a turtle her size. FYI - her tank looks filthy, but it's actually not. Her UV light was the only light on her in this vid and the thick glass makes the water look green. Also, she just got done eating a bunch of lettuce so there are still pieces floating in there.

She's not stuck, she's STRONG. She has no problem getting away from the tree root. If you watch the video all the way thru, you will see that.

Thanks! Her plastic tree root came from a pet store....I think it was Petsmart & was around $25.

Petsmart you say huh, ive never actually been to a Petsmart, lol. Lots of smaller lps around here. I like that look and it probobly doesnt release tannins that would make the water brown. Sounds great, maybe ill get one and hopefully my turtle will enjoying it as much as yours :)

Sheba's tree-root is actually made of some kind of hard plastic so you don't have to worry about tannins in the water. :) Hope you are able to find one....Sheba loves hers. :)

Thanks for the nice comments! I feed Sheba a balanced diet of Reptomin & various veggies including lots of leafy-green lettuce (romaine, collards, etc.) and occasionally some berries as a treat.

There is quite a size difference between my female and yours, mines probably twice the size!

What do you feed yours now as they are mainly herbivorous in there adult years?

Where is her landpart? did you know that most water turtles (females) need a land part with sand deep enough that they can dig theirself down for egglaying? Or else they could die for not laying eggs but producing it and keeping it inside the body.

she isn't pregnant right now. When she is pregnant, then I provide a place for her to lay her eggs. Remember, I have had Sheba for 18 yrs & she has laid eggs for me out of the water many times.
