There's a real reason why Marijuana is illegal. A scary reason. Did you know a month before Kennedy's assassination he was planning on making it legal?
Cannabis criminalization is not a victim-less crime. The user of a natural herb has the right to the control of their individual mind & body and is therefore a victim of laws against people's natural rights. There is not a more fundamental right than such control of one's body. Abstinence is a religious notion and a 1st A violation, a 5th A. deprivation of life, liberty, and property, and a 14th A. violation of life, liberty, property & equal justice. Using cannabis is not a victim-less crime. The person who choses to use a natural herb that humans have been using for thousands of years has a right to the control of their individual minds and body; such a person is the victim of unconstitutional laws because what can be more fundamental than the personal control of ones mind and body? Criminalization of a medicinal herb is in violation of 1st A. abstinence is a religious notion, 5th A: Deprivation of life & Liberty, 14th A. life & Liberty
canada has helped heroin users by giving them clean supplies and places to get high... this in turn has reduced deaths and helped addicts seek help. America: land of the "free", home of the ignorant.
Legalize it!!! Keeping it illegal causes more problems than legalizing it ever could! It's not the demon drug that so many have apparently been led to believe.
14 states plus 2: Medical Marijuana legal in Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state; plus D.C. & Maryland soon, see NORML org website
While I agree with you on cannabis I don't think alcohol or tobacco should be illegal. It would just create the same problem that making cannabis illegal has. What needs to be done is to legalize the freedom of choice by individuals to decide what they want to put in their bodies. I mean if one can choose to go to die in a war at 18 years old why can't we choose what we want to use to relax at the end of the day. Also just want to say I know you didn't mean you want them illegal.
@DaftStyle Well, if the prohibitionists had their way, alcohol wouldn't be legal, but too many people were whiny about it. And tobacco was once very unpopular, but then people started to "spin it" and make it seem cool. Then came the tobacco companies, which made them seem much cooler. Also, pot has little medicinal use, and there is a synthetic chemical that can do what it does for glaucoma without side effects. Plus, the illegal industry would still be around, to undercut prices/taxes.
