I think if you could have incorporated a slip mechanism at the flywheel and have a way to manually engage the ram instead of full time operation, it could have been a bit more durable and user friendly. But, very creative nonetheless.
hay your splitter did keep life exciting right! i picked up a 14t in upstate NY off of craigslist for less that 200 bucks with a broken needle. fixed it and it bales great. have fun and be safe.
i figured a 1/2" shear pin was a little risky, but i loved the idea. i've got a 14T, a tractor, and few power tools (including an arc welder.) i figure my dad's up to the challenge just 'cause it's green and yellow. lol.
@HISandman Bummer is right , this thing had it all !! suspence, risk, practical ,usefull, green, inventiveness, refreshing , on and on ....... if you build another one your going to have to incorprate a sheer pin, also a hopper, or roller conveyor to drop logs into chamber for saftey, heck i don't know, this might make it more complicated and more unsafe..... any hows be safe ...........

Just sucks that he has gotta probly pay around $800 to $1000 or more on new timeing gears ugh! >.<
Bums me out that someone would have to pay out the ass on somethin so awesome such as a new Idea in maken a mauler out of a bailer.
