  • Axe-pwned. Well sort of lol depending on the style of player the eleven rack can work I suppose. Still, meh.

  • .......Im able to set up and fine tune presets in the studio with headphones ( thanks to the transducer ) with a recording of the band as a reference. No worries about cutting through the mix. or eq balance. It transfers perfectly live.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHO THIS GUY IS? I really like his playing and would like to know more about what he does. BIG THANKS.

  • @swill9000

His name is Sean Halley, and he's now over at Line 6.

  • Can you play live with eleven rack and a speaker or you will need a pc???Please answer!!!

  • My setup:

LES PAUL - STRAT - TELE > PALMER GUITAR SELECTOR > ELEVEN RACK > MARSHALL 50/50 POWER AMP > SPL TRANSDUCER > DESK > TWO FULLRANGE MONITORS ( via desk aux ) FOOT MIDI FOR CONTROL.

The stage monitors are in the back of an old 4x12 cab, with a custom built amp case with the eleven rack set flush in the top. to give the illusion of basic valve amp / cab on stage

MY HOLY GRAIL AFTER 20 YEARS OF TWEAKING AND FIDDLING!

  • Axe-owned lol

  • Who is the guy who does the video?

  • @ChrisReedlfd Sean Halley

  • Never refer to your gear as a "product". It immediately clues people in that they are being marketed to and that they are being viewed as customers. Nobody likes an infomercial.

  • I have a MesaBoogie Preamp, and I as Thinking about buying a rack eleven, though i doesn't like the digital sound, but I'm wondering if it's possible to use this rack as a cab simulator for my mesaboogie and just use the reverb, delay, compressor etc...!

  • Gold top les paul at background?

  • can this work with a different daw like sonar 8 producer??? i would think so?

  • @robvk6 I use it with Cakewalk and it works fine and IMO Cakewalk is less glitchy but I would install the free Pro Tools and play around with it it's nice but really processor hungry but you get the GUI. Once you learn the basics youcan navigate through the hardware. I don't use the GUI at all anymore unless I need to save presets to disk.

  • @Whyrendog Which cakewalk are u using with your eleven rack?

  • @MerrittJeff1970 Cakewalk Music Creator 5. They just released 6, haven't tried it yet but should be better than this version.

  • Please guys, no more "it goes up to eleven" jokes! :D

  • I really dig this.

However, I'm saddened by the fact that it isn't similar to Logic, where you aren't imprinting the effects on the tracks. So there is no need to record 3 tracks at the same time.

Is there a fix for that?

  • @bradtwo you don't HAVE to record 3 tracks a once with the eleven rack you can record just the dry signal if you want. Not sure why you would want to though. 11 rack isn't a plugin so its not like you can have more than one instance of it running. So without the "wet" track you wouldnt have anything to mix.

  • Which DSP does the 11rack use's? Motorolla or SharC?

  • what is the refference of rack bag ??

  • Axe Fx is better.

  • @snapascrew Not really both are good but eleven wins I have both!

  • lol @ 0:40 yeah... DRUMMERS! :P

    da dun TSSS...

  • it is very big :D

  • Digital processing will NEVER i repeat NEVER replace a quality tube amp sound,,especially when cranked up<< its cool 2 get alot of sounds in 1 box,,but what would u rather have,a honda and a toyota and a mazda and a chevy,,or just 1 bently?

  • @EnveBeats you are rigth but in this time for recording or play alive the amp is to heavy may be your car is not to big.jajajaj and a good guitar player will have a amazing tone with any pedal he have analog are digital and in the fingers are the magic not in the rig

  • @EnveBeats I recently watched a classic tv commercial from the 70's. It was a commercial for a tv gaming console with the game "PONG" (and variations of "PONG") built into it. The announcer said "there will never be a more exciting game for your tv set". And the moral is: never say never.

  • @EnveBeats this is a Toyota, Mazda, Chevy, and a Bentley ^^

  • @EnveBeats Indeed. Just listen to the sounds emitted from a Carr Mercury amplifier using any guitar. Tim Schroeder of Schroeder Audio and Guitar Repair commented that as interesting and initially fun digital processors are, they are simply "uninspiring" to help create music. I've always felt the same ever since I tried using digital effects and processors from the beginning. And then, I wanted to use digital effects; so, my bias was in favor of them, but I was always unimpressed.

  • Excuse me Im no good at this! But can you use it live, and how do I plug it in to my amp? :O Im a noob when it comes to that stuff!

  • @Maiden92666 You use a power amp, or direct to the PA.

  • I can't understand how this such high class device don't have a firewire interface aside USB. USB while does the work also is very prone to noises under certain conditions in a not so un-frequent basis. Please could some1 report about USB clean path or not in 11R ?

  • Because USB 2.0 is faster than Firewire

  • @lively1548 I hope you are kidding

  • No... USB 2.0 is faster than firewire.

Firewire WAS faster than USB, until USB 2.0 .

I know.. I was looking for an Interface, and kept getting angry about the USB. "Why the hell is everyone using USB, don't they know it's slower? Wheres the firewire!?"

Well guess what.. thats because USB 2.0 is faster than firewire.

  • @LGrey8 USB is not faster my friend. Different mb speed yes but not faster. USB uses a completely different architecture and is inefficient.

Google it for a more in depth explanation.

    Read Test:

5000 files (300 MB total) FireWire was 33% faster than USB 2.0

160 files (650MB total) FireWire was 70% faster than USB 2.0

    Write Test:

5000 files (300 MB total) FireWire was 16% faster than USB 2.0

160 files (650MB total) FireWire was 48% faster than USB 2.0

  • @LGrey8 FW vs USB 2.0 FireWire, built from the ground up for speed, uses a "Peer-to-Peer" architecture in which the peripherals are intelligent and can negotiate bus conflicts to determine which device can best control a data transfer

USB 2.0 uses a "Master-Slave" architecture in which the computer handles all arbitration functions and dictates data flow to, from and between the attached peripherals (adding additional system overhead and resulting in slower, less-efficient data flow control)

  • Does anyone know what kind of a stand is being used for the 111R in this video? I'd love to have a stand like this for my 11R for live use.

  • its made by a company in florida called Sound Ankers

  • I hope Digidesign will make a floor pedal version, kind of like Pod XT Live.

  • What do you guys think would be better. The Eleven Rack or the Axe FX?

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic good question, I am debating the same thing myself.. did you make a decision yet? I hear that the Axe has a superior effects quality, but worse user experience and def takes longer to be up and running, also it costs almost twice as much.. for what I see..

  • I tried both last week. The Axe sounds AMAZING. But like you said, kin of hard to get up and running to sound sick. The eleven rack is great cause it does reamping and it's a Pro Tools interface & also sounds super great. I can't afford either yet, so right now I am using Guitar Rig 4 with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier cabinet impulse responses so it sounds very real. You can do reamping with Guitar Rig4 as well.

  • Thanks man, is in your opinion the sound quality of the Eleven Rack much better compared to guitar rig? so far I only hear very good things about the Eleven Rack, I am waiting to try one myself before buying it...

  • Yes the Eleven Rack surpasses Guitar Rig 4. But using an impulse response with GR4 makes it sound almost as good as the Eleven Rack. Heck, with an impulse you can even make a Line6 Pod sound good. Definitely try the Eleven Rack first before buying. I am sure you will love it!! Let me know if you ever get it :-)

  • Thanks for your help dude! I'll let u know... :D

  • wth :P whats the point of having an amp head with distortion then... could you bypass the amp setting and just choose effects like wah, and stuff? cuz all i need is an effects processer (without the ability to choose amp sounds), a sound processer, and an interface

  • I like the cool light thingys on the knobs...

    you just wanna touch them!

  • I hope they'll make floor pedal version!!!

  • What settings are used for the acoustic guitar?

This would be my solution if I could make it both my secondary electric and primary acoustic!

  • Actually, you're hearing the microphone sitting in front of the acoustic, not a pickup. The guitar input would work fine for an acoustic, you'd just have to tweak things a bunch to smooth out the extra top end you'd get from the piezo.

  • i use eleven plug in all the time now with the extra features this has i am living.....my only gripe is...They need to make a Pedalboard with Vol and a Pan pedal along with at least 12 banking

  • what model suhr are you playing??

    pickups???

    is it custom or standard?

  • Sorry for the late reply - been on the road.

That is a Suhr Classic, with a custom neck I had John copy from another guitar, and a custom color. It's rad.

  • BUMMER...No Noise Gate!!! What?? Will Digidesign offer upgrades? What about additional amp simulations and/or Pitch Shifting? I would have to add separately during recording but then couldn't translate to the stage...what's up Digidesign? Even the mid to late 90's pre-amps (like the digitech 2112) had noise gates and pitch shifting..Sorry for the rant but I hate when something so cool comes out and something so necessary is missed. I will keep saving my money for an AxeFX

  • It does have a noise gate, actually.

The gate seems to be keyed from the guitar input, but it mutes the amp output - nice!

  • OK...I read the manual and I feel like a DOOF. It does have a Noise Gate. (per the manual) "Each of the amps in Eleven Rack has a Noise

Gate, which can be used to suppress noise coming from the instrument before the signal

reaches the amp model. Noise can be especially problematic when boosted heavily at high-gain settings." --- Forget the AxeFX --- BUY AN ELEVEN RACK!!! P.S. I still want Pitch Shifting :o)

  • well if you really want pitch shifting, you can buy this and the eventide pitch factor for still less then the cost of the eventide. just use the effects loop in the eleven and work it in.

  • Check out Eventide pitch factor.

  • OMFG !

Is this supposed to work along with the DIGI 003 interface or replace it ???

  • My modeller goes to 6. This goes to 11.

I think Line 6 have to step up now and respond with something amazing.

The Eleven Rack is 2-3 times the price of Line 6 gear. It does however, provide amazing routing for recording, and it seems to be designed to be used in any situation (I've been sitting watching all the viideos tonight).

Completely out of my budget I'm sorry to say.

  • The P.O.D X3 is dead.

  • awesome. nice rig.
