@JoshCraver9000 I guess because after that back to nature song, Wendy's just did seem that natural. BUT, hunger rules so a spicy chicken sandwich went good.
Having driven an 18 wheeler mostly in West Texas for over a million miles, this song rings true. Now in Eastern WV I -64 is very familiar. Having lived in CO , it seems this artists is in tune with my eastern mountain heritage.
@jstrytllr very interesting. This song was also one of my favorites of his as well. Not sure what it is about ole CW but he hit a note with me back in the 1970's and it never left. If you haven't seen his new video "Coming Back for More" you sure should as it is excellent. I keep coming back for more as it really grew on me. Thanks for the comment, I love hearing from people like you.
@vbdenny When I did the interview, I was worried about keeping him talking to fill a 1 hour show. HaHa I had to almost literally cut him off after 2 hours and he still had plenty to talk about. Are you a "crispy critter"? If not, ya ought to be. Aloha
@jstrytllr I just think it's awesome that you actually got to meet Bill. I have no doubt that he can talk for a long time, something I would love to see. You may consider me crispy.
Very fine vid! I'm actually coming over to the west coast this fall, aiming to do some American-style driving with C.W. Mccall on the stereo! Can't wait for that! Drive safely!
I couldn't help but notice that after you watched the first one, you went back and watched a second. Now who the fuck would do that? Anyway, I blocked you so you won't be tortured by my videos anymore
This song talks a lot about the damage we are doing to oue envirinment. But it is kind of ironic that today's eco-freaks are the ones trying to take our country away from GM,Chrysler, this Global Warming B.S.,aided by the Messiah Obama
this song has always had meaning for me...even though it sounds a bit cheesy...but with all this talk of socialism it kinda hits the nail home wtf is happening to us?!?!?!?
Actually, there wasn't a real CW McCall. He's based on an advertising character. However the two men who "created" CW McCall are real. One went back to advertising. the other? Well, he started a little know band named "Mannheim Steamroller"
C.W. McCall is Bill Fries, an advertising man who created the character of C.W. McCall.
While working for an Omaha advertising firm. Bill created a tv campaign for the Old Home Bread brand of the Metz Baking Company. The advertisements told of the adventures of truck driver C.W. McCall, his dog Sloan, and of the truck stop that McCall frequented, The Old Home Café. Bill based the character and his environment on his own upbringing in western Iowa.
Bill will sign stuff if you send it to him. But please remember to include return postage for your item (and packaging, too, if thats required), or you may not get it back. Bill is a one-man operation.
The next time you see Bill, Please give him my best. The CW McCall adventure was an important part of my life. My brother was the one who turned me on to him. Sadly, my brother who was just 20 at the time was killed in a car accident right after buying Black Bear Road.
I still listen. I was rather disappointed to learn that CW McCall was actually a fabricated artist. His real name is something else. The music was perfect for the times then. East Coast CB'ers used Channel 10 way back then.

you are welcome. I thought I was they only one who loved old CW's music but as the hits on my CW videos show, I was wrong. I'll make some more of them I guess.
delicious ending lol

This song sounds pretty deep for the 70's!
I think C.W. was way ahead of his time!

Bill is one heck of a guy and we look forward to seeing him in July.
He just had his 80th Birth day on November 15.

You can send Bill a card or a letter. He got chocked up when I told him how much his music did for me and that it gave me my love for the outdoors.
He is one heck of a great guy. I encourage you to write him.
