is it me or is this fluffy charecter getting biggger and more aggrisive i never watched the movie cause i never heard of it i just came accros it=D but its a pretty great fucking horro movie to watch
OMFG THIS MOVIE SCARED THE HELL OUTTA ME WHEN I FIRST SEEN IT,I HAD NIGHTMARES ABOUT BEIN DRAGGD INTO CRATES FOR LIKE 2 YRS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i love this one those, its my fav
I cried from laughing so hard when the geeky guy in glasses hits the monster in the head with the wrench.........never have I seen a monster so pissed off
this shit had me, scared to snooze at night as a boy, but one thing i don't understand, at the beginning it was trapped and the crate had to be pryed open for him to get free. but at the end when he's deep in the ocean, he just rips throught the crate with no problem and hes ready for vengeance.
I've heard of hibernation, but 1834 to 1982 is pushing it. What the fuck was that monkey?! Love this classic horror anthology. Romero + King = Gods of Horror
I 4got how good this scene was! How the hell did the Antarictic explorers get that thing in the crate in the first place, someone should make a film about that.
failure.....if that was me with the wrench, that damm monkey would be a bloody pile on the floor....better yet, i would steal the gun from the guy in the first see and blow his monkey ass to hell
@oldscoolest This is a monster that's nearly two hundred years old and has survived without food and water inside of a little crate all that time. Doesn't it stand to reason that it may be a bit harder than swinging a wrench to put it down?
@TytusTolshemLives tress can be hundreds of years old and they are still easy to kill. and being malnourished and dehydrated would weaken it. besides, Does it not have a mortal, fleshly body, like any other animal. it might be tough, but if a man could kill a lion, he could kill that monkey thing
@oldscoolest Firstly, I don't know what a "tress" is, secondly, given all of the facts of this thing's imprisonment, it was apparently still strong enough to devour three grown people without any problem--imagine it on a full stomach. Clearly this is something supernatural. But anyway, I'd like to see you put down a lion, cornered, with a shredded right arm.
This has to be one of the greatest monster creations of all time, I believe it's supposed to be sasquatch, im sure like many, scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. I would love to see a serious remake of this story with the original monster, oh and I do believe it says 'thank you Henry, just before it munches the bitch!
After the monster grabs her it really does wait a moment to look at Hal Holbrook. It's like, "Hold on one second... Did you really just feed me your wife? Man, that's cold. As much I hate getting caught in the middle of some lovers quarrel, I *was* feeling a bit hungry and this bitch is seriously getting on my nerves."
@maxmosey OMG! It totally says that. This was the scariest section of Creepshow when I was a kid, but damn if that thing doesn't say it! YOU GO, MONSTER! WOOOOOO!
This movie was meant to be an homage to old the E.C. horror comics, so whenever the creature appears or there is a startling moment of shock the garish red and blue colors are used to make the images look as they did in those comics whenever something horrific happened.
@hatsan91 damn that image at 1:02 still scares me. I mean look at that face and teeth combo. Much better than effects we see now a days, if you ask me.
As for the red lighting, probably to go with the "terror" feel. Red is known to increase the heart rate as well as signify intensity and such.
The reason the lights turn red whenever the creature appears is because we're not really watching a horror movie. "Creepshow" is a journey through a horror/comic magazine. So, we're sort of reading the magazine when the film plays out. That's why each tale ends the same way it begins, which is the characters are seen as cartoons with balloons for their speaking or clouds for their thoughts. The red lights would be the artist highlighting his monster drawing.
Does anyone know what that spark is that flashes across the crate latch at 1:29? I have never understood whether it was some chemical reaction that overshot my layman understanding or something else.
Deathklok101 made a very good point, but if you listen as the guy sticks his hand into the crate he exclaims, "It looks like a couple of emeralds," mistaking the monsters eyes...bad mistake!
Man, anything with big teeth scares me because I can only imagine how painful it would be to be killed by them. And yes, when I was a kid I was scared out of my mind at that thing. And it always goes for the face...lol! My favorite part is when the victim with glasses hits the creature with a wrench, and then it turns around quick looking competely pissed off. Scared me the most!
That thing looks like 10 types of pissed off! Why would you willingly put your hand in that crate? What did the guy think "Huh it looks like some kind of vicious beast. I think ill put my hand in there see if it's friendly." He deserved what was coming, if your that dumb you deserve to die. No pity for self inflicted wounds.
@Deathklok101 I have this movie. I was wondering the same thing when I realized recently he said "Looks like a couple of emeralds" before putting his hand inside the crate. I guess he thought his eyes were emeralds and, seeing he's a janitor, wouldn't mind a little extra money.
@TheGaGaPolice Yeah I realized that too. It took me a few watches, but I picked it up. I still stand by my convictions, and still think that this guy is about as bright as a one watt light bulb in a dark room. His mom never called him sunny, cause he isn't bright. As for greed. Well, theirs a reason it's called a deadly sin. That guy found out the hard way, after becoming a meal.
@Fenderkicksass Yeah, but common sense tells you, not to stick your hand in a crate. The janitor said that he thought he saw a couple of emeralds. So without checking to make sure, he just sticks his hand in. You are asking for trouble. Greed is a old horror Cliché. Basically it's like having sex in a horror movie, or being a prick, or saying you'll be right back. It's gonna get you killed. So yeah, he was there to die anyway.
