John Burridge was a class goalie. A bit shorter than many others he was still an excellent goalkeeper. In the off-season he used to keep fit by working as a hod carrier for brickies. Go on son!
The best thing about this era was...most all of the teams in the 1st Division were capable of beating anyone on their day...what an interesting time! an open championship where anything could happen. As for the FA cup that was a free for all. the minnows would cheer if they got a big team at home...as they fancied to beat them, now they cheer the MONEY!
In the days when footballers could tackle and were real men.

Nobby Stiles on the bench, barking instructions. Anyone recall the team that he managed? Also, who is the Goalie walking on his hands?

Preston

I would say that the keeper must be John Burridge..then of Crystal Palace.
The hand walking used to be a favourite trick of his during the warm ups.
