my baby hamsters are 11 days old now the mother has made their own nest for them away from her nest is this normal

@holliehamster123 She's brobably getting bored with the babies. But as long as they are not cold, and she feeds them, its ok. Make sure there is enough foods around, for they start eating real foods at that age.

@Demonwolf11121 From the first day they are born, you can see the difference in the genitals. :D But, if you wait a few days, you will also see the females nipples.

Did you breed the long haired cream in the first video to the black banded? I had always heard that black and cream colors were not compatible and that you would wind up with golden (or wild colored) pups from that match up.

@hamsterlover1888 I was actually tryig to get golden babies. No luck there, all were black. I think the original golden colour is really beautiful, but it's getting rather rare these days, atleast in Finland.

@mariokartwiiperson I have had many black-white hamsters, some of them longhaired. We dont use words like panda-hamster or teddy-bear in Finland.

I remove the male-babies when they are from 3½-4 weeks. Females when they are 5 weeks. That is because males can get their sisters pregnant. Females get to stay, as long as I can rehome them.

They are 25 days today, older than in the video, I havent had time to upload it before.

They will be ready to move to new homes when they are 5 weeks old, so 10 more days.
