In the area of Pennsylvania where I live there are 3 upscale apartment complexes that have had a big bed bug problem since people from India have been moving in. They're bringing the bugs into the country and now Americans who live in these apartments are having to replace their furniture and many have moved out. The Indians move in and they live 5 and 6 to an apartment when there are only supposed to be 4 adults in a 2 bedroom unit.

I live in an apartment complex and our apartment was one of many that people were getting bitten. These things are a crazy huge amount of work to get rid off. I ended up dissassembling half my furniture and ripping out all my base boards just to pre treat with Dr. Doom. Vacuumed like crazy every day. ANY thing and everything that could be stuffed into a really hot washing machine and dryer was bagged tightly before and after. Even the drapes were not spared. Great stuff Diatomaceous Earth is, kills roaches and bedbugs, but it is also an inhalation hazard. I use it mixed with water in a spray bottle, that way it is a film that adheres to the surface you spray it on, just like a film of dirt clings to a car. LYSOL 4 in 1 works to kill bed bugs too. it will kill them on contact, however yu want to dillute the spray and spray at late hours around 2-4am for 30days to guarantee they're gone.

vaccum your box spring and mattress when its completely bare and spray rubbing alcohol all over both also spray your bed frame thouroughly including the posts. it will help to remove the nylon sheet from the box spring and vaccum the inside of it. its amazing how many you will find inside the box spring. spray the inside of the box spring good with rubbing alcohol. this will kill them
i had them and i had an exterminator in twice but also what works to kill them is rubbing alcohol and masking tape sticky side up. tape all around electrical sockets and any opeings between your wall and floor with tape sticky side in so if they try to come out into the room they will stick to the tape. spray rubbing alcohol all around your floor and inside any opeinings between the wall and floor before u put tape down. also wash blankets and pillow cases often. this worked/works for me
I had bedbugs 3 times, they are not that bad. Bedbugs carry diseases, but in genreal do not transmit that to humans. Cockroaches are MUCH more dangerous. They carry and transmit MANY different diseases by getting into you food, on your toothbrush, walking on things you put in your mouth. Bedbugs are not after your stuff, they only want your blood and don't transmit diseases when sucking it. That being said, bedbugs are irritating as hell. When you try to sleep is when they are eating.
omniexistus: My statement is fully logical. Roaches transmit diseases to humans MAINLY ( not the only way) by getting into peoples food, people eat the food and get sick, roaches are very filthy. Bedbugs can carry diseases, but they don't in genreal get into food, they don't want it, they want you. When They poke your skin to suck your blood, as far as I have read they don't transmit any diseases they may have.
I tried all this and I threw out everything from my old house while I was moving and I still managed to get bedbugs in my new house...bed bug sprays and steam machines didn't work for me, I'm going to try my luck with an exterminator because its been a year of night mare!!

if you are concerned about it wash your clothes in as hot water as possible and dry on hottest setting for over an hour, this will kill any attached to your clothes. also get in a Bath tub and hold yourself under the water, any on you will float off. Bed Bugs can live in clothes without feeding for a year, and their eggs you can't see, washing and drying them like I said should kill their eggs.

I live in an apartment complex and our apartment was one of many that people were getting bitten. We got bit for months, threw out beds and furniture and wasted tons of money trying to figure out the cure. I did months of research while being eaten alive. ugh they are such a damn pain!! I think i am finally rid of them! It took 1500 dollars tho and i was really lucky to be able to come up with that and most people like me Just dnt have an extra 1500 to get rid of some damn BUGS!! @axeman669 dont use terminix - they are over priced and very expensive- i found a local pest control company that specialized in bed bug infestations. the guy showed up at my house with a cocker spaniel, no shit - he used the dog to locate the bed bugs - they charged me 90 bux per room and it got rid of the problem - he'll have to come back 2 more times, once a month to make sure they are gone but its worth it

These things are a crazy huge amount of work to get rid off. I ended up dissassembling half my furniture and ripping out all my base boards just to pre treat with Dr. Doom. Vacuumed like crazy every day. ANY thing and everything that could be stuffed into a really hot washing machine and dryer was bagged tightly before and after. Even the drapes were not spared. I till ended up calling an exterminator to deal the coup dis grauce.

Any of these techniques are not proven, the bed bug spray may kill 25-37% of bedbugs, yet not harming eggs.Paying thousand of dollars (acualy around a couple hundreds) for each room heats them up 40% over the maximum heat that the bed bugs couldn't live in. It worked, yours doesn't.

Great stuff Diatomaceous Earth is, kills roaches and bedbugs, but it is also an inhalation hazard. I use it mixed with water in a spray bottle, that way it is a film that adheres to the surface you spray it on, just like a film of dirt clings to a car. Put it down on areas where it will not be disturbed, very effective as part of a systemic approach to killing the nasty critters.

vaccum your box spring and mattress when its completely bare and spray rubbing alcohol all over both also spray your bed frame thouroughly including the posts. it will help to remove the nylon sheet from the box spring and vaccum the inside of it. its amazing how many you will find inside the box spring. spray the inside of the box spring good with rubbing alcohol. this will kill them

i had them and i had an exterminator in twice but also what works to kill them is rubbing alcohol and masking tape sticky side up. tape all around electrical sockets and any opeings between your wall and floor with tape sticky side in so if they try to come out into the room they will stick to the tape. spray rubbing alcohol all around your floor and inside any opeinings between the wall and floor before u put tape down. also wash blankets and pillow cases often. this worked/works for me

I had bedbugs 3 times, they are not that bad. Bedbugs carry diseases, but in genreal do not transmit that to humans. Cockroaches are MUCH more dangerous. They carry and transmit MANY different diseases by getting into you food, on your toothbrush, walking on things you put in your mouth. Bedbugs are not after your stuff, they only want your blood and don't transmit diseases when sucking it. That being said, bedbugs are irritating as hell. When you try to sleep is when they are eating.

omniexistus: My statement is fully logical. Roaches transmit diseases to humans MAINLY ( not the only way) by getting into peoples food, people eat the food and get sick, roaches are very filthy. Bedbugs can carry diseases, but they don't in genreal get into food, they don't want it, they want you. When They poke your skin to suck your blood, as far as I have read they don't transmit any diseases they may have.

They are just as prevalent here as they are there.
if you are concerned about it wash your clothes in as hot water as possible and dry on hottest setting for over an hour, this will kill any attached to your clothes. also get in a Bath tub and hold yourself under the water, any on you will float off. Bed Bugs can live in clothes without feeding for a year, and their eggs you can't see, washing and drying them like I said should kill their eggs.

Diatomaceous Earth..its a powder that'll kill them, put it all over ur mattress & boxspring & enclose it in plastic-hard to find in stores, you'll have to order it online...if u dont fight them hard now.you'll regret it ..if u have a wooden headboard or anything w/cracks & crevices it can grow in there too. (bedframe also) Their eggs look like grains of salt so u can miss it- if u moving ur comforter room 2 room or laying things on ur bed...ur cross contaminating.
