In 1993, Penguins > Islanders. But when it came to mid 90s uniforms, Islander fisherman > '90s Penguin. The Pens would win championships with the Skating Penguin, they should've not changed their logo. However, the Russian Penguins logo looked kinda cute! :)
as a pens fan, this season brings back some of the best memories (mario coming back to lead the league in scoring and the pens to the best record in the nhl) as well as the worst moments (mario's cancer and the loss to the islanders). i still say this is the best pens team ever even if they didn't win the cup.

The Penguins do not hold the record for most consecutive wins in a season, the Isles still do.
The Isles won 15 in a row...IN REGULATION. The Pens won 13 in a row and needed OT to win the last 4. So what you say? When the Isles did it there was no OT in regulation back then, OT was strictly playoffs.
One of the dumbest rationales that I've ever heard. That would be like saying that the Dolphins 14-0 regular season does not count b/c they play 16 games now or that the Cardinals and not the Yankees have the most World Series b/c the AL uses a DH which was not originally part of the rules.
The Islanders' feat is impressive...no one is saying that it isn't! It's just that the Penguins won two more consecutive games to give them 17, two more than the Isles by my count!
Seeing those banners with the song "We Are the Champions" puts tears of joy into my eyes. Hopefully Pittsburgh puts an end to Detroit's reign tomorrow. Sidney Crosby, let Pittsburgh shine again. Beat those Wings, and HOIST THAT CUP FOR PITTSBURGH!!!!

@kcthatsawinner I liked the Pens' 90's logo better because it was more serious.

Lemieux got pwned by a 20 year old rookie named Darius Kasparaitis.

And Darius was a mean sonovabitch too. Fuckin' hated him for giving Mario shit. Ironically, Kasparitus played for Lemieux too.

But I can say that when he came to Pittsburgh, I actually liked the Kruncher. As a Penguin, I loved how he smashed Eric Lindros.

The Isles therefore really own that record.

This is actually pretty amazing.

The Isles were a portrait of courage that year, they beat teams they had no business beating.......and they did it without Turgeon.

Rick Tocchet as a chef? Wow, pretty impressive. I didn't know that he was a Phoenix Suns fan either.

And the 90s style of not curving the bill of the hat...
