there doesn't seem to be any smoke arising from this. is there a pipe that carries the smoke away in some other direction off camera. Or do forges like this normally not produce a lot of smoke? Could you have one of these in a room in your home and not need a chimney to contain smoke? Would an open window be enough?

Not a bad furnace, look like it needs some insulation though.
