@SIGTERMer There isn't really any singleplayer gameplay per se (just a bot mode.) The vehicles are available in AOA (All Out Assault.) Look for servers named "AOA" or "Space Ships."

@fragileaswelie It's warranted that they should do something other then place a new skin on Quake 3 Arena / Unreal Tournament 2K3. Which is what essentially all OSS FPS titles are. The game engine is capable of so much more, make use of it instead of doing what all the rest have, because when you get right down to it there is no difference between AA, Blood Frontier, Nexuiz, OpenArena, Saurbraten et al.

Compare their efforts to that of the 4 man team that made the Penumbra series.

@DrBeardo Alien Arena came out *before* Nexuiz, Warsow, Blood Frontier or Open Arena. That's an often overlooked fact that people seem to forget. Also, just because there are existing games of the same type, it doesn't mean those games are good, and other games shouldn't try to do something similar but strive to be better.

I wholeheartedly agree. Remember, Blood Frontier is relatively young and everything seen so far is only of beta quality, it's ultimate intention is to provide a (co-op) campaign mode somewhat similar to what's seen in Left 4 Dead. So far the Deathmatch stuff was focused on while we got our online subsytems up and running; Beta 3 should have the first baby steps toward achieving our ultimate goal. Every project has their own ideals and I think directly comparing is unfair to all FOSS games.

@DrBeardo Not likely. We do this as a hobby, and multiplayer deathmatch is the type of game we love. If someone were to come along and want to make a single player mod of this game, we'd support them any way we could, but it won't be us making it, because we just aren't interested in that type of game.
