@TheChayLopez I know that problem with the DVD very well. I looked almost everywhere and a few weeks ago I finally found one in the USA and of course i bought it. I life in germany which means i had to buy a new dvd player aswell because the DVD is not regionfree. It was worth the effort and every cent.

Hey man, Mobile Suit Gundam is one of the pioneers of anime. True, there should be more anime that have the quality of Fatal Fury, Fist of the North Star, Cyber City Oedo 808, and DBZ. However, without Gundam, anime would have never been the cultural phenomenon that it is now.

I agree to some extent that most anime today is either futuristic, in space, relating to mecha. But there are many that definitely fit into the categories you're looking for. For instance, you ever checked out History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Rurouni Kenshin, Blood Plus, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, or Claymore?

As for the Wolverine and Iron Man animes, I haven't seen them. Are they any good?

Actually, it's the other way around. Gundam came out in 1979. However, Robotech came out in 1982 whereas Macross started running in '85. Hence, the two animes were riding on Gundam's coat tails.
