it is an advanced technique so it isn't easy to understand. siding against the rail at the correct angle will make the ship gain speed with max acceleration settings. ships with bad grip gain the most speed while sliding so the best ships for this should have A for boost and E for grip. blood hawk and night thunder fit the bill well but lighter ships have an advantage so BH is the overall winner.
Rainbow Road is the best track to obtain the highest speed, not Silence 1 like the game wants you to believe. I achieved 2349 km/h with the Black Bull on that track.
They tie in my book, but the N64 is a little higher. The Wii, neigh, Nintendo wouldn't be what it is today without the Super Smash Bros. series, which started on the N64.
i also still like the N64 a little more than my wii just because of the quality and number of games. Now-a-days gameplay is to underrated. Like Road Rash the motorcycle racing game for N64. countless and endless hours of fun. games from the N64 can still beat some of the next gen counterparts. who remembers Destruction Derby? Another one of Nintendo's greatest. Along with the obvious SSB and Ocorina of Time and many more.

no, you just need to learn the correct angle to slide. it takes time.

VC is the same as the version in your region.
now, PAL version is slower than NTSC version. check what version you have.

PAL runs at 5/6 the speed of NTSC so a record equivalent to my vid would be around 1'22

no, the WR is 1'08"041
PAL is slower because it takes longer to display the same frames and that's why the time would be around 1'21 for the WR in this track.

this is already NTSC and PAL is slower so you have to multiply the time X 1.2
