Actually, Aizen didn't beat anyone with his intelligence.

1-When he started his experiments with the Shinigamis (now the Vaizards) Urahara found out about his plans.

2-The real reason why Aizen is so strong, it's because of his Zanpakutou which creates illusions to whoever sees it, making Aizen able to make others believe what he wants (like creating a clone or look super strong in front of others).

3-If Tousen wasn't one of his men, he probably could kill Aizen because he's blind lol.
