not really. see black my heart play a style of hardcore punk that's more influenced by old school new york hardcore. it gained slight metal edge from boston's(their hometowns) scene. just because bands have distorted guitars doesn't make them metal.

I play in a metal/hardcore band, and really, nowadays it's hard to make anything that sounds distinguished and different enough to be labeled as either metal or hardcore. I don't know all the backgrounds and shit, but all I know is that it's good music, and it's fun as hell to listen to and play. isn't that all that matters?
