there's an addon that adds blood effects but thats about it. the game is pretty violent though, the starting zone has dead bodies lying around with sounds of people screaming in the background. i dunno if thats what ur looking for but this game has it.
Yeah, the root will break pretty quick, it's mostly there just to give you a little buffer room. During the few seconds you are given by the root, you can toss a land mine or toss a Grenade if needbe.
Don't worry if it breaks; it's there for breathing room, not really to keep the mobs off you!

It's hard to say which class is better. They're different. Engineer have more Crowd Control than Bright Wizards, but you're right, their damage is much better.
As to the "magic skill" that makes Engineers comparable or better than BWs, the Tinkerer skill Electromagnet makes Engineers one of the best CC careers in the game. You'll always have a spot in organized PvP if you have it,
i am a rank 26 granadier, at this level in rvr i am 100% sure i outdamage any class, acid+explosive+moral on a 40 players group.. i dont know if BW can beat tat but i think its hard... but talking in a realistic way... even if you do more total damage than a BW(WICH U DONT), ur doing lil damage to everyone... so smart talking about its better to do 2k damage to a palyer and kill him than 3k to 20 players and taking only 10% of their hp becouse the 2k to a player will be one less enemy
hey man great video! ye i completely agree with the fact that BWs are gay. who cares if they can outdamage us (in fact all classes). most of them are duchebags (some of them are cool) who just wana do massive damage instead of being a team player like us! the engineers!
Indeed, damage does not necessarily mean they're better =) Many a healer/BW has their lives because an Engineer was around to CC the melee beatin' on em!
Oh, but Engineers are gimped, and weak, and broken, and we can't one shot tanks and HURFF DURRF DURRRRFF.
Good to see some positive stuff coming from fellow engineers, helps to have something out there other than frustrated tier 1 pissants whining. Keep up the good work.

Indeed, Engineers are a very powerful class: just seems people hit the late tier1/early tier2 leveling hump and shelve the toon.
