  • how much is a TD20? :}

  • They are roughly $5000 around here where I live right now. BzB :-)

  • so if i did get an electric kit, a good thing would be just like, save for about a year and get an expensive one

    ?

    i was looking at a td-12

  • TD12 is an awesome kit. But also look to see how many direct outputs it has. If I am not mistaken it only has two, plus stereo left and right. If you want to play a kit professionally, I suggest you have at least 6 outputs. Yamaha DTExtreme Speicial now has 6 and The Roland TD20 that I play has 8 outputs.

    BzB :-)

  • hey.

im a 16 year old kid

i play drums and me and some friends are trying to make a band.

we have the talent, im good at drums

especially for only playing for like, 3 months

the only problem is my parents dont like the noise

and i dont really know of any electric sets

or anything like that that i could get for pretty cheep

any suggestions of what to get and a way of paying for it?

  • There really are no "pro" electronic kits out there for playing gigs that are under $3,500. I would not suggest you take off playing Electronics so early in your technique development anyway. I do understand the benifit of having a kit that is quiet...but I think you would not be happy with the electronic drum quality in your budget range. At 16 you could always get a job and put all your money into getting that dream kit though. BzB :-)

  • mint sounding kit man!

  • thanks man. BzB ;-)

  • Ur band sounds awesome!! LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • Thank you...this is actually a band that I sub for when their drummer is out of town and such. Those guys are great and I really enjoy playing with them.

    BzB :-)

  • I used to bartend at Gators, what a fun trip down memory lane watching this. Marcus and Dave are always intertaining!! Lori

  • You should check out some of my other vids...I have some more recent ones like "Jessie's Girl". That one was recorded a few months ago with Big Brother and you can see the entire band in that one. Let me know what you think Lori BzB ;-)

  • Hey good cover and great form... Thanks for putting your cymbals where they're supposed to go... Kids get sloppy and put their cymbals at their waists and it makes me sad on the inside :-P

  • Yea...I hear you...My own son likes to put his kit in the latest trendy fashions...I am not about all that...Buy hey...whatever ya know. Thanks for the comment. BzB :-)

  • what kit is that

  • It is my Pearl Master Studio...all Birch. BzB :-)

  • LOL That is so my birthday! March the 15th!!!! Nice cover!!!

  • Thanks for the comment and complements...Happy Belated Birthday...

    BzB :-)

  • nice cover.

TBH tho, i think you littlebit over played it in some of the parts.

    other than that ... awesome.

i love ur kit its fantastic. i mean the electronic one.

  • Yes...you are right on the over play...it is just the style for where we are at. On the beach scene here in the Tampa Bay Area it is normal to play everything faster and more aggressivly...it is just the way this market responds...thanks for taking time to write and for your your complements on the kit. BzB :-)

  • Marcus is an ass

  • And we love him for it. BzB :-)

  • i think some1 says u suk during 1:34

  • That was actually David (The Guitar Player). He often says off the wall things on the mic. I think he was commenting on the lyrics of the song here where it talks about Neil Young talking badly about Alabama. That is just the sort of stuff Dave does...he's a funny guy. BzB :-)

  • awesome

  • Nice.

  • i cant believe this band is still together ... Marcus is the only one i even remember. what happened to Kevin and Matt?

  • They still live and play music in this area. Kevin actually tours Europe with one of the guys from Savotage..I think you spell his name Aleva...John Aleva...I think that is the spelling. Matt plays with local bands. BzB :-)

  • hey bazy i was just wonderin if you ever gig with your electric kit, b/c I see that you are playing an acoustic gig here. Great vid by the way ROLL TIDE ROLL from sweet home alabama!

  • i like the 'welcome to the south motherfucker'! lol

i liked the bits you adeded on top of the origional beat!

  • Nice 2 see you have a new vid out -- keep em coming man =)

  • nice!

me and my band are doin this!

    cool song!

  • Bazy,

Been checking out your vids - I like your approach.

To be honest, I find the drumming on this track to be "overplayed", especially when you consider the laid back groove of the original.

But then I think 90% of all bands who play covers play them too fast - maybe I'm the one with the problem.

    Good work all the same.

  • Thanks for the honest feedback...I play with many bands..this is just one of them. I personally like to play a bit slower but this is the speed this band normally plays the song at. They play most of their songs fast but then again, that is what the crowd around here expects for some reason. I just go with the flow and I get the call the next time they want a drummer. Thanks again for taking time to comment. BzB :-)

  • really the cover was very good and like vaughnanclooney said this is kinda fast for the groove of the song a band and i did this song and it didnt sound exactly like this but it sounded just kinda like it but over all you guys are very good keep up the awesome work you guys are very nice.

  • see wat u meen dude!

to be honest, some drummers just find laid back drumming a bit dull!

  • hey bzb, long time no c, nice vid, is that a zil-bell i c? lol

  • I do own a zil bell but I dont think I had it at this gig...maybe...BzB :-)

  • Bazy! Nice sounding gig here!

I've got a whole slew of videos out with 8 more on the way which I think you'd be particularly interested in ;-)

They include RET Percussion electronic drums and EZDrummer software!

Check 'em out if you've got time. I just subscribed, so I hope to see some new vids soon!

    -mikey

  • rofl u did this a day after my b day NICE and i love this song thanks again

  • Just think...you could have been there with us having one hell of a party for your Birthday...We did this song the night before (Friday) as well...I just took the cameras with me on the second night of playing. BzB :-)

  • NICE man i wish lol keep up the wicked vids ive learnt more from u then my drum teacher rofl, drums FTW man

  • nice job man u guys are good

  • Thanks endrocc...BzB :-)

  • Man I love the sound of that kick. What mics are you using?

  • Those are mics from the house sound man. I am not sure what they are using and I never think to check because I rarely play somewhere that I have to have mics myself. BzB :-)

  • Nice Bazy, this song is a really fun one to jam to. How come you don't make videos anymore?

  • I do make videos still...I have just been busy with my day job. I will get back to regular video making soon. BzB :-)

  • Well thats good. So are you like the drummer of this band? I've seen alot of your videos with this band, and you've mentioned them in your acoustic drums video, are you the actual drummer? or do they use other drummers too?

  • I am the back up drummer for this band. They have a regular drummer and I am the one they call whenever he is out sick our out of town. BzB :-)

  • You beat them all, Bazy!

    Absolutely brilliant!!!!

    Greetings AlexG

  • Thanks for the comment Alex...BzB :-)

  • they're totally not good enough for you bazy..

  • Thanks for the comment TCG..but this band rocks dude...these guys own the house at Gators when they play there. They are loved by everyone. It is all about an energy that this band brings to the stage...BzB :-)

  • Good work Bazy..

My band has been trying to play this, but I could never get the beat right...Now with your clean sound I can hear whats going on back there.. I work it out on my kit and we'll give it another try.....Thanks Bazy..

  • thats cool lightyear but remember, I am rockin this version up a bit. It is not like the album for the most part. The point though, is to get the crowd into it...that is what we are doing here. BzB :-)

  • Hey Bazy!

Awesome Have you Back on tune!

Great song, Great Playing, Great Band!

But Where is the Drummer!? :D

  • Ive been waiting for a new vid from you bazy good one very nice!

  • Thanks HellHound1992...I appreciate the comments...It is nice to see my regulars commenting the vids. BzB :-)

  • Great job as always brother, your drums sound beautiful!

    god bless

  • ...damn right !

    peace

  • Thanks to you too wink for the extra backing there. Cool bro. Peace. BzB ;-)

  • Thanks 4905...Bless you as well brother. BzB :-)

  • Nice work!

next time have the cameraman include more shots of you working hard on them Drums.

    :-)

  • yea...we have had a lot of problems with cameras lately. I had one behind me that would have shot the entire show with cuts of me playing but that camera died at the show and I did not get any footage from it. We will keep trying. Thanks for commenting. BzB :-)

  • No Problems and Dang what Luck on that camera situation

  • Yep...it has been one problem after another since we had one camera knocked off of a 2nd story ledge inside of a large club during a show. Once that one bit the dust, the rest have started having problems one after another. BzB :-)
