  • and south africa lead auustrlia to score just 47 in test match!

  • someone shouts like a girl at 5:42 XD

  • yeah!

  • @JaYzPrOdUcTiOn3 hahahahahahaha heard it now lol good observation :)

  • Comment removed

  • His arm seemed alot higher then, allowing him to get some swing and be reasonably accurate. Now his bowling action is to "slingy" eliminating any sort of swing and accuracy. It's a shame that he'll probably never play Test Cricket again when he was this good.

  • who da hell is ishant sharma???

nd by da way, how is he compared wid Mitchell Johnson!!!??

  • awesome bowler....

  • Sigh...now his bowling is wonky and all over the place.

  • I have seen a lot of great spells in Test cricket and this one is right up there with them. A salute to Spofforth, Larwood, Lindwall, Lillee, Marshall, Ambrose, McGrath, Steyn and Johnson for taking the game so far in their respective eras. I guess Johnson won't be as great as the other names on the list but he's bowled a few overs that would'v troubled the best in any era. So lets cheers to that, stop complaining about standards of the game and start enjoying what we have in front of us.

  • His body shape bowling here is completely diffirent to what it was in the ashes

  • this is true test cricket...

  • Where was snorkel going after the McKenzie edge. Shat himself, lucky haddin caught it

  • wish i could bowl like that :P

  • this is what he needs to get back to doing. just bowling fast and trying to hurt the batsman. that's where he is at his best. stuff looking swing it every ball

  • Admiration from us Poms for a classy bit of fast bowling from a young and in-form Mitch.

I think that's Rodney Marsh keeping but I'm not sure which Chappell is at second slip!!

All together now........."He bowls to the left, he bowls to the right.............."

  • This was one of the most destructive spells of pace bowling from an Australian I have seen since I've been watching cricket (15 years or so). Compare this to what he serves up nowadays... its incredible how his standard has slipped. If I was an Australian coach, I would make Johnson watch this video EVERY day. Swinging the ball and bowling 150kph looking like he's not even trying, the action looks so tall and smooth and SO different to how it is at the moment.

  • He bowls to the left. He bowls to the right. That Mitchell Johnson’s bowling’s SHITE!

  • @Selecta88 BARMY ARMY!!

  • 150 km/h and swinging both ways = unstoppable

This was one of the best spells I have personally watched.

  • rubbish

  • i wanna see bouncer from TAIT on Amla's jaw & beard full of blood yeahhhhh

  • @rodtorre7 who fucking cares about tate

  • this was the mitch we saw today at perth, swinging the ball late with good line and length making the batsmen play.

Well done hope this form continues

  • @alibaba4813 This guy seems to have a split personality disorder of sorts. When he's average, he's pedestrian but when he's good, he moves it both ways at genuine pace and is suddenly a match-winning bowler. I have no clue what's up with him and which of these two guys would play on that particular day.

  • @Imrankniazi Couldn't have said it better meself =)

  • He's BACK, for now... But hopefully forever

  • I saw a game a few years ago for queensland against south africa doing a similar job having smith, gibbs and kallis for 5 each and picked up a couple as well bowled brilliantly

  • THIS is the Mitchell Johnson I want playing for Australia; not some pussey who's trying to be technical with his cricket. I want him threatening the batsman's lives when bowling and threatening the crowd's lives when batting.

  • @01242692723 His woman has fucked with his head and he aint be great since then!!

  • You really have to question Australian team management and coaching when Johnson here is bowling with great pace and rhythm AND swinging the ball back into the right hander something he's completely lost the ability to do.

  • where the fuck was this against england

  • @nwils107 hahahahhahah said this a bit earlly... hahahahah

  • He was crap in 2009 in England as well

  • He looked a great bowler here - how come he can't play like this against England?

  • Whether this was against crap opposition or what but Johnson has never impressed me. In both Ashes series hhe has been dog shit.

  • @Buggsy61 shit opposition? what the fuck. South Africa have some of the best batsmen in the world and mitch cleaned them up very convincingly.

  • shit! mitch was bowlin at around 150 kph here and now in this lastest ashes series he's strugglin to bowl at 140 kph,

  • Man i wish he could get back to this! At his best maybe only Steyn is as good. At the moment not many are worse.

  • i miss this mitchell johnson

  • i hope he knocks a few of the englishmen's head's off this ashes series......

  • I love johnson's bowling action....Its just awesome!!!

  • amazing bowling

  • Scary spell of bowling. Imagine if he bowled like this all the time.

  • Blowing so good there but now so crap in the test matches against Pakistan

  • one of the best 'first overs' i've ever seen

  • Johnson has lived on this SA series ever since,he's really inconsistent but manages to pick up wickets balling absolute filth. His problem is, his action breaks down easily and when he's not in a good rhythm it goes every where.

  • @REVRAC74 Thats spot on, his action is too jerky, he used to bowl (and you can see it in earlier videos on youtube) alot smoother than he does now.I think he needs a wake up call or something because he's just cruising along at the moment not doing much, imo atm hes the third best quick in the test team and shouldnt even be in the odi or t20 teams on form

  • That yorker at 9:21 was absolutely delicious.

  • i'd kill to be able to bowl like him, i really would

  • if only he can get this inswinger working better. then he'll be lethal

  • johnson is like the nadal of cricket

  • Johnson is at his best when he just bowls naturally. He is not a swing bowler, all the media critics go on about how rarely he swings the ball in (to right hander). All he needs to do is bowl with good rhythem. When he doesn't worry about swinging it and just bowls fast; he will swing it on occassions , even with out trying, even if his style isn't suited to swing bowling. This was one of the two best spells of bowling ever.

  • Mitch has got some kick ass pace!!!!

  • Fear GOD who hath power to cast you into HELL(Luke 12:5)! Fear God and depart from evil(Proverbs 3:7)! God is ANGRY with the wicked everyday(Psalm 7:11)! • great vid

  • there hardly any good fast bowler these days..u can litterally count them on ur fingers..

dale steyn, mitch johnson, mohd asif (when not high)..but ya that was classical fast bowling..i like it..thanx for uploading the video here..

  • wat mcgrath did was to hit a lenght where the batsman struggled to get forward or back, that meant he got a lot of where batsman were stuck on the crease......here in this vid is another aspect of fast bowling, being able to terrorise the batsman! good stuff mitch johnson

  • great bowling spell - reminded me a bit of the Windies bowlers from the 80s/early 90s

  • It's one thing becoming #1. It's another thing staying #1.

  • 2:03

In the over sequence, near the score, 3rd, 4th and 5th ball

    spells out 'WOW'

  • @ghostzulu if you heard the commentator was saying the 5 balls nought, nought,

    W0W

  • i kinda commented before i watched the part when he said it.

  • great player mithell johnson and look out anyone that thinks that they can beat him caz your goin down

  • Good vid. keep it up :D

  • got that right shrestha841, Mitch is just so good he is easily the best bowler going around these days!

  • champion

  • greatest all-rounder in cricket ever.

    mitchell johnson is the best!!!

  • I call him "Mitch the Hunter" ... Thunder from Down Under !

  • At 9:20 that yorker was amazing man...........and great comentry also " AND HOW SWEET WILL THE TEA TASTE FOR THE AUSTRAILIAN".......superve bowler Mitchi (Nickname)

  • to all u loser Indians out there.......beware of Johnson !! not even ur so called GOD that extremly overrated Sachin Flopdulkar can't do anything about it !!

  • yer aussies will kick indai's ass any day!

  • Absolute legend...wish i could be as good as that baha

  • im hella good at cricket

  • A joy to watch that spell but what a load of filth he threw down during most of the Ashes, he bottled it.

  • This is the peak of his career so far.

  • I would rather he bowled shit during the SA series and saved this stuff for England.

  • phew glad he didn't bowl like that last summer.

  • he would of destroyed england if he bowled like this against them, suppose all the pressure we put on him was to much for him.

  • glad he wasn't fully on form in the ashes, christ.

  • For all you fast bowlers at home have some real fun as you just watch his back leg, and pause it as he hits the crease. Then look at the line the ball takes. Work out from the angle that his back leg takes the line the ball will pitch.

Then consider that the balls that hit the batsman had the back leg moving to leg rather than straight down the pitch. Then look at the speeds of the deliveries on the radar. The natural variation, or imperfection of mechanics beat the batsman - not the speed.

  • what happened during the ashes mitch?

    sigh...

  • you cant see it that well on here but when i saw it live kallis has blood flowing out of chin and there was a few drops on the pitch lol

imagine being the tailenders coming out to bat and seeing the blood of a batsman who has scored over 10,000 test runs over the pitch, and then having the same bowler who done it charging in sending them at your head.

where was this form in the ashes mitchy?

  • @cowboyup6732 the ashes are not over, my friend...watch it now!

  • @cowboyup6732 that last sentence as relevant now as it was a year ago

  • Mitch is great example of sheer hard work and determination and raw talent! Go Johno

  • FUCK I WAS SO PUMPED WHEN THIS HAPPENED

  • It looks like a pussy game sometimes with just niggly medium-pacers operating at line and length with curtailed swing.

Genuine pace bowlers like Steyn, Mitch, Flintoff and Ishant Sharma are really treasures and there needs to be more raw fast bowling in the game. This is what real test cricket is about!

  • @Imrankniazi Your actually completely wrong. The footwork and grace of a batsmen, and brilliant trickery of the spinners, is what 75% of cricket is.

  • @Imrankniazi Since when has Ishant Sharma been a 'genuine pace bowler'?

  • @tanzeel1337 Well, he was quite nippy when he came in. I am not sure why but he has lost a lot of pace and zip in the ensuing years. I wouldn't call him a bowler of genuine pace now.

  • @Imrankniazi where are the Paki fast bowlers?!...where have they gone to?

  • @Pakman78 I'm sorry but I don't understand what you were trying to say there.

  • @Imrankniazi Ishant Sharma - genuine pace bowler? lol. on what planet? heck, in which galaxy?

  • @zeyneddine People, let's get some perspective here. Ishant Sharma looked like a genuinely good prospect when he started out. With pace and a high-arm action he looked quite a handful to most cricket-lovers.

I'll say that too much game and lack of a good physique (particularly) has hampered the guy's progress. I still believe that if he adds a few pounds at the right places and with some good monitoring, he can get back to being a competetive Test bowler.

  • @zeyneddine - ask the Aussies when he was player of the series, they'll tell you which planet.

  • @prescient8 lol, player of the series is not equal to genuine pace bowler. grow up.

  • @Imrankniazi ishant sharma?? what are you talking about, have you seen him bowl, except for the one series in australia he bowls in the range of 128-138 k/hr, nowhere near fast. steyn, morkel and mitch along with tremlett is where its at

  • @diw1118 ,Helloo???? Ishant still bowls consistently around 139-142 km/h....and his average speed is 137 km/h. He is quick, but not express quick like Steyn and Morkel......

The main reason why Sharma is bowling poorly is becoz he has lost his accuracy as pointed out by Pakistani great Imran Khan...Otherwise his speeds are okay.

  • @Imrankniazi you on drug?

    calling ishant sharma pace bowler?

  • @Imrankniazi ishant sharma isnt a genuine fast bowler

  • @southpawlibra9 I made that comment two years back. He was quick then. I am not commenting on merit, but pace through the air was certainly there. More sporadic now.

  • @Imrankniazi Ishant Sharma - "Genuine pace bowler". Are you fucking joking? My disabled grandmother could bowl faster than that ugly thing.

  • @TheFOITH Refer to my reply to southpawlibra right below your comment please :-)

  • Wow...I've been living in Holland for over a year now and haven't been watching any live cricket.

I am seeing this bloke after a long time and has he improved or what..I always remember him giving away a lot of runs and being a more up-and-down bowler.. Also his pace seems to have increased quite a bit.

Judging by this clip, Mitch looks as deadly as any true fast bowler in his prime would look. For the sake of fast bowling, I hope this streak continues.

  • Mitchell Johnson when he bowls well... is destructive to any batsman.

He can get good figures if he's in form, no matter who he is bowling to.

Also, he's shown some batting skill too. If he comes in when Australia needs 20-40 runs quickly, he'll get that, with a little luck, and really quickly.

His highest score is already 100+

  • totally agree wid you..

  • he is a champ

  • Thanks for the editing on this - was great to watch! (I've got tickets for the Oval - cannot bloody wait to see him perform like this again!)

  • Have they still got tickets for the Oval? If not, is there a cafe or put in London where one can watch The Oval match?

  • It sold out in November, apparently - I got tickets through a mate who has Debenture at the Oval. It'll be on in loads of pubs, though - if you want to avoid the Walkabouts (which get awfully hot and sweaty and standing-room-only during big sporting events) then you could try Regent's Park - the big screens go up for the fifth test. If it's raining, there'll be no play to watch anyway but there are loads of pubs in London that'll be showing it - if you're in London just ask around your locals.

  • Graemme Smith is tuff in mind but not in body lol!

  • bhaago suar mar dega

    apni jaan bacha kallis

ipl me to muh kaala kar diya tha symonds ne waise ponting ka to muh kaala ho gaya ashes me

in the end shaqeeb tu suar ki jaat se bhi neecha hai

  • Why can't he bowl like this now? What went wrong?

  • all professional players in every sport goes through a slump at some point. he'll 'bounce' back.

  • If you're a Pom, I bet you're kicking yourself about now.

  • I want Mitchell to perform like this at the Oval too! I want him to DESTROY England. I'm still not convinced of his return to form, despite 5 wickets at Headingley. But it was great to see him smiling again.

  • Great work for the video.

  • He's bloody good. He just needs to get his inswinger going more often. He's one of my favorites

  • This guy is a hack. On a lively kingsmead lot of bowlers bowl well. This guy got pace. Worked to his advantage. On slightly slowish surfaces he is totally useless. I still can't figure out how he has taken so many wickets in his career. Probably he will be good on certain pitches.

  • Well lets see, he gets wickets because he can get batsmen out. I would've thought that was self explanatory. But then, I guess with you being a moron and all....

  • Haha: Bruno (BOrat) made a joke in Sydney about how English rejects sent all their gay guys to A'a 150 yrs ago ....

  • And if he a problem wit his woman, he can easily bowl another maiden over ha

  • His mutha blows. She needs to shut up; he grew up with her alone it looks like, so she needs to respect his identity, whatever her thoughts. To be public in things sux. The UK is tough if you let it be that way: many English people are pretty nasty to be honest, and they all have an attitude. You don't need extra pressures. You need to put the English in their place. They deserve it.

  • mitch is just playing badly at the moment. form is temporary, class is permanent.

  • i have no idea what just happened. too much slang.

id love to get into the sport but this just makes nooo sense to me.

  • made cook look like viv richards

  • worst bowler ive ever seen

  • He was shit last night. I almost vomited watching his first spell

  • HES A GOD

  • fuck your girlfirend your the boss you earn the money you can replace her with the flick of the finger

  • Blood, broken bones and stumps getting knocked out of the ground. Thats fast bowling at its best. Fingers crossed he shows Flintoff what a true fast bowling all-rounder is made of.

  • hahahahahaha are u mental. freddie won the game with a 5 fer. johnson gifted us about 100 runs in boundaries. convict twat

  • u havent won the ashes pommy so dont get carried away. u have 1 game, 3 to go we still hold them from that little 5 - 0 , Annihilation last time :)

  • Ha, and what do I see: an eg of a typical ignorant English kackhead. Also, asshole, not many Austs are "convicts" as far as I am aware. I might add, shithead loser, what I posted on a Bruno clip: "Achtung Bruno: there were no gay guys sent to South Australia (my State). It was settled as a province of Europe, mit English mit some money und Germans UND EVEN SOME AUSTRIANS, ja, some of ze Austrian Jesuits have ze 150 Anniversary in 2000. But no gays in South Australia. What would your vife say?"

  • are u clinically insane. nobody has got a fuckin clue what ur talkin bout u half wit aussie loon. 1-0

  • your a halfwit. im from ballarat in victoria and there is lots of gays in sth australia you fucking cunt

  • amla was a touch unlucky with the LBW, the ball was going down leg side but still an awesome spell of bowling.

  • Excellent, don't see many really impressive left armers these days, smell the leather

  • Fantastic work on this compilation. Was a great spell of bowling.

  • the potential to be possibly our greatest allrounder ever. Awesome bowler and a very good batsmen considering he is in the side for his bowling.

  • cant wait to see him unleash on the poms

  • my ashes squad 1.phillip hughes 2.simon katich 3.ricky ponting 4.mike hussey 5.michael clarke 6.andrew symonds 7.brad haddin 8.mitch johnson 9.brett lee 10.jason krejza 11.peter siddle

  • thanks a lot.... im a pom though :/

  • Comment removed

  • @ausnick2001 lol eat your words ashes winners again :-)

  • Thanks a lot for posting this, I've wanted to see it for ages. I Listened to it on the radio at the time and they said it was the best left arm fast bowling since Wasim Akram. I must agree, that over to Boucher was just magic.

  • There's nothing better than early wickets.

  • my australian squad for the ashes: 1.phillip hughes 2. simon katich 3. brad hodge 4. ricky ponting 5. michael hussey 6. haddin 7. andrew mccdoanld 8. mitchell johnson 9. brett lee 10. nathan hauritz 11. jason krejza 7.
  • I dunno about two spinners. Is Siddle going? If so I'd put him in, and Hilfy is alright. I don't think much of McDonald, and I want Jaques in there. Also Clarke should be in.

  • What a terrible side.

  • like terry alderman wasnt in aussie team yet when we went to england he was the first bowler picked because he bowls good length with swing that how u win over there the pitches dont bounce like aussie pitches , Krejia is a wicket taker i would have picked him but it looks like there trying to force england into mistakes like they did to south africa in sa . mitch is the head fast bowler a weapon for sure . siddle is a work horse bowls quick and moves it a little but gets more out of the pitch

  • cant wait for ashes mitch and siddol makeing a good combo with plenty of back up should tear through england mitch is still getting better what a player a true great allrounder good fielder good batsman great bowler go aussies

  • SIddle won be picked, i hope not anyways!

    Lee

    Johnson

    S. Clark

    Haurits

    Watson _(possible bowling?)

  • i take it you ment wont get picked not won get picket . your living in the past my friend lee is a skid bowler so if he isnt bowling at 150 or higher he will get touched up on english wickets he has lost his swing so really he is just a back up bowler now . dont get me wrong i like lee think he is a good bloke and has tryed his heart out for aust but he is not a force anymore . i can see from your bowling team u know nothing about pitch conditions and how they suit different bowlers i will cont

  • Ben Hilfenhaus would be there for sure like alderman was proberly best condition for him . now u have decide to play a spinner or make johnston a all rounder or play 4 fast bowlers i would keep the extra batsman and forget the spinner get by on the part timers so clark would come in he bowled the best last time over there and always gets something out of the pitch and is tall like mcgrah . lee got pounded last time and i cant see him doing better .

  • as you might know crickets about stats and go check it out siddle and johnston besides johnstons batting are the same siddle actually has a better econimi rate and the same amount of wicket avg per game siddle has played 7 johnston 21 johnston has 94 wickets siddle 29 econi rate siddle 2.58 johnston 2.97 as for lee hes not in his prime anymore econ 3.47 played 76 wickets 310 has just beat them on wickets a game but he doesnt have mcgragh taking the hard wickets so he can crash the tail .

  • Mitchell Johnson 4 lyf

  • england should be watching this video. coz this is what is coming to them!!! and mitch is even better now he knows how to bowl swing

  • some awesome bowling from Midge, inswinger to Amla was a peach!

  • thanks for uploading.

    ur a legend!

  • Thanks a lot. Took me forever to compile...

  • Lovely to see this session's highlights. Great stuff from Mitch.

  • Sir Mitch, the great man !!!
